I almost walked out of Jury's Inn when I arrived in Brighton; I was already irritated by their 16:00 check-in time, and the place felt grubby and tired when I walked in. However, it redeemed itself quite quickly when I dealt with the staff. The ladies on the reception desk were incredibly helpful, friendly and efficient, and Ken at the bag storage made my day with his calm and affable personality. The room itself was clean and comfortable, and even though I was close to the lifts, there was little noise. I never ate at the dining room so cannot comment, but I did have a drink at the bar area, which I found to be a little sterile. It was a busy weekend with many people and families in and out, but the hotel managed exceptionally well. Even when one of the lifts was out, I didn't feel that the staff dropped their pace or professionalism. The hotel is in a great location as a springboard for Brighton. My ”Jury” is still out regarding value for money, but I have no hesitation in appreciating the staff.

The hotel location is amazing - just 2 minutes from the station (if that) and a 10 minute stroll to the beach. The Hotel was exceptionally clean with brilliant welcoming staff. As other have mentioned, the only negative is that the breakfast choices were very limited. Small single portion omelettes, tinned tomatoes and sausages, as well as cereals etc. However - don't let this distract you. Loved the additional facilities of the hotel (washing machines, the Den) etc. The room was silent - no noise from anywhere. Good powerful but quiet air con.

I didn't intend to stay here, I confused this hotel with the seafront Leonardo Royal, and I was told by a taxi driver that it's a common mistake.
I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. It has a bright reception area with a bar , restaurant, and breakfast area. There are also a few toiletteries and snacks available to buy. The staff are efficient.
My room was on the fifth floor with a view across the town. The room was very clean with a first-rate bed, largish tv., Espresso machine, a well stocked hospitality tray , slippers, toiletteries, a Mini fridge and a safe , although you are advised to leave valuable items in the reception.
I slept well, I didn't really hear any noise from inside or outside. The televisions have restricted sound. There are key cards that not only open room doors but are required to call the lifts on the ground floor.
There is a small selection of food available, pizzas steaks , pasta, fish and chips, and other pub favourites.
Breakfast is taken in the extended restaurant , there is a great selection to most guests, continental cold cuts, fruits, yoghurt, porridge, cereals, pastries, smoothies, etc. Guests can set themselves up for the day.
The seafront is approximately 15 minutes walk away, the quickest route, and it's downhill . The railway station is literally just around the corner, so this is also a good spot for those delegates attending conferences in the hotel.
Overall , I had a pleasant stay and would recommend it to others.

Stayed here for a conference and wasn’t overly impressed. I appreciate they are going through a refit but there was an unacceptable amount of disruption. Long wait at reception to check in. Long queue and only 2 receptionists. Workmen noise during breakout sessions of the conference meant it was difficult to hear speakers. Main lifts out of action and signposting from small lifts to rooms was very poor and I struggled to find my room. Room smelled strongly of paint and had to open window as air con unit didn’t appear to be wired in. Came back after being at dinner to find my towels had been replaced (surprised but thank you) but my facecloth had been removed (it was my own one) and I had nothing to wash my face with. But probably worst of all was being woken by workmen shouting right outside my window at 6.45am. Not what I wanted after a late night. I’m just glad I wasn’t paying for it!

We stayed in a standard king room. The room looked like it needed a lot of work done (walls, door, windows). The walls are so thin that I could hear the next rooms conversation clearly. The staff are friendly and helpful and breakfast was good but I don’t think i would stay here again. Parking was awful, there are hardly any spaces as most the spaces have pillars in them and they are very small to get in to. They also share the car park with another building so there’s not many spaces available considering how many rooms they have. It was better to park in the nearest car park. I’ve stayed in other holiday inns and they were so clean and lovely rooms to stay in. I just think that this hotel is outdated and needs work.

My husband and I stayed for 4 nights at the Kings. We enjoyed every minute. The staff were all friendly, helpful and did everything to make our stay just perfect. Our double room was large, beautifully clean and very comfortable. Breakfasts were great with plenty of choice and in a delightful bright breakfast room. The Kings is ideally located on the seafront. We will definitely be back. Thanks to all the staff at the Kings Hotel.

Location is absolutely great, the sea is direct in front of the hotel. Everything is at walking distance. The staff is very kind and friendly. When we check in, there is a small promotion where we can get free wine, beer or sodas. Cleanliness is great, the room is spotless although there is a little funky smell but not a big issue. As for the amenities, their shampoo and body wash are in bottles fixed to the wall. But their shampoo and body wash are of quality with meroli and bergamot smell which i just fall in love with. They did provide hand wash and lotion in bottles and fixed to the wall as well. No bar soap, no toothpaste, no toothbrush, no shower cap. Their does provide iron, hair dryer and tea/coffee as well as two bottles of water.

Excellent
SS GA really memorable stay for a night and as soon as we left we wished we had booked a little longer. Great location, and very easy to find - close to the coast, Laines, shops, restaurants (but also not in the centre of bustle). Greeted by Telly (the one of the hosts), who was very helpful in giving an overview of vegan and vegetarian restaurants in the area. We extremely friendly and very simple check in. We were offered the options for breakfast with flexibility for dietary/ preferences (breakfast - taste, portion and presentation surpassed expectations!). The room we booked was very comfortable, clean and exceeded the basics with little details which added a personal touch. Good sized en-suite which was very clean with toiletries provided and a in-keeping claw foot bath. For a period property, the space has been well-thought out, and felt very calming after the journey. The design of the interior is stunning, and we did have to take a little time to take in the front room/ breakfast space. The hosts, design and experience immediately set The Twenty One above many other places tried in Brighton over the years. Thank you to the hosts (Suzy, Telly) for a memorable stay and the chats with us - hope to be back very soon.
GGuest UserThe Legends hotel states that they have a bar and sub terrain night club in the basement, what they don’t state is :- a, That the night club carries on until 4:00 am and that the ear plugs provided are ineffective. b, That if you have a so called city view you can only see the rear of the adjacent properties. c, You can’t have the windows open for long because of the deafening noise coming from the air conditioning units on the lower roof and the noise from the extractor chimney are the equivalent to booking accommodation in a machine shop. d, Empty bottles cascading into the wheelie bin through the small hours of the morning. When we complained about this we were told that staff were not supposed to empty bottles before 8:00. The last time we heard bottles was 5:30. e, Dirty mouldy bathroom. Dust all over the radiator that dirtied the towels when placed on it. f, Misrepresentation of rooms size in the hotel description. Ours was definitely not the same as the one pictured. g, Being fobbed off by the hotel staff when we asked to see anyone of authority so we could get reimbursed, and who would only be available when we were long gone. So as you can see from our experience and since getting home and reviewing the lower scores left by previous travellers we are not the only couple to have had a less than pleasant experience at the Legends hotel
GGuest UserAt this price, it's very cost-effective. The hotel is about a 5-minute walk from the seaside. You will pass by many delicious restaurants and there is a supermarket next door. And the breakfast was very good. I asked for an omelette and the waiter asked if I wanted it soft (medium-cooked). Except for some temporary circumstances, the WIFI was broken and was later repaired.
GGuest UserI really appreciate upgrade to room sea view.
But on the night of our stay was very strong wind and omg felt like windows will fall out, we stayed up all night. Room was freezing.
In the no when I did check why the wind noise was sooo bad I realised there was a massive gap between window and frame.
On the check out girl asked how was my stay and when I said it was just alright, she wasn’t bothered to ask why and skipped to next question.
I could point out issue we had but there was a guest in front of me who was talking about the same situation and girl at reception offered her blanket and heater, sounds like it’s on good problem in hotel with windows and stuff can’t be ask to deal with it.
GGuest UserMy second stay at Selina with my partner, last valentines it was great but this time we had our anniversary. They had a better room available so upgraded us to a seafront room.
But the room was absolutely freezing and the radiator was on a timer so it was off when we got back to the room around 11pm onward. The windows were really drafty and loud from the wind and rain outside and the duvet was thin.
Pretty room and nice staff but pity about the stay. Not the best for a winter anniversary trip.
LLEIIt is about 2 kilometers from the city center of Brighton. The traffic is very convenient. No extra bed is allowed, and children can be taken. The room is not big, but the design is very distinctive, with artistic style. The sea view room has a balcony, and the sea and harbor are outside, which is very nice. Downstairs is the Food City, let’s have a good meal.
GGuest UserWith this hotel you will get what you paid for. It is really close to the pier and offers an amazing location, however don’t come here expecting a premium 5* hotel experience.
It gets the job done and the mattresses were comfier then expected.
For a short term stay it could be a good option, especially if you want to save some money compared to other hotels
GGuest UserThere is breakfast, but it is very simple, things are less than the average British hotel, and the price is not cheap, it costs 12 pounds a person. The room is still quite large and belongs to the simple and comfortable one. Walk to the beach for about 25 minutes and there are many bars nearby. I lived on Saturday, so it was very noisy at night. The parking lot is small and has to be booked.
GGuest UserSays it has parking, but only has very limited parking available. They are definitely misleading you, because I wouldn’t have booked this hotel if it didn’t have a parking spot.
Oh and when they do have parking spots available then they charge you 25£ to use it. I had to park in some sleazy parking lot which charged me 32£ and walk a distance to this hotel. Nothing was spectacular or nice here, was a bit of a dive actually, definitely not worth 200£ for the night!!!
