The lady at the restaurant tried saying that I walked in with alcohol in my hands when I walked in to ask where the bar was her names Macie I believe I went to school with her and she just don’t like me for some reason so decided to tell the manager a whole bunch of lies which isn’t right and I got accused for everything leaving cans on balcony that were NOT mine all because this chick from school didn’t like me or whatever her bloody problem was … not happy legit got a mouth full from the manager of accusations WONT BE COMING HERE AGAIN maybe should get new staff

The bed was clean and comfortable - and warm once I had grabbed the extra blanket from the cupboard and doubled it over. For a location that gets really cold in winter an electric blanket would have been a good option. Only on arrival, was I told that the restaurant and kitchen where closed for renovations. It would have been nice to know earlier as I could have checked out alternatives. The grout in the shower recess could do with a good scrub. Alternatives as it happened were few and far between - the BP Roadhouse across the road and a couple of pubs a few blocks away. Everything else was shut. Not the hotel's fault, but if I had known I would have gotten something on the way. And finally, I had to write to them to ask for the the receipt that I had been told would be emailed to me on checkout.

We stayed in a hotel room in the original building. We were greeted by a friendly and helpful staff member. The room was traditional with high corniced ceiling and new carpet, comfy with luscious linen and a great bed. There was a thunderstorm that night I slept through it my husband woke for 2mins and went back to sleep. The bathroom clean and functional with fabulous hot water.A very quiet comfortable room I would highly recommend this hotel. Just one thing maybe a bigger TV would be good?

We've stayed at Nelson's before but in one of the superior rooms. This time we went with a cheaper option which was a room out the back in what looks to be an older area. There's a car park around there so we were able to park right in front of our room. The room was basic - double bed plus a single, fridge, tea-making facilities, bench, two chairs, wardrobe, a/c, side tables and lamps, bathroom with walk-in shower, basin, and toilet. Also ironing board. And a tiny tv on the wall. There was also wi-fi but we couldn't get it to work. The room was very clean - a must for my wife- while the shower had good pressure and the bed was comfortable. Not super expensive and it did the job. We'd visit again. There's also a restaurant which I've reviewed separately.

We had dinner at Nelson's as our motel didn't supply evening meals. Our waitress Thylita was attentive, knowledgeable and pleasant. Food was great, service was quick, prices very reasonable. Big tick!!

Avoid rooms 1 to 11 they are the ones out the back . And are run down , dated no microwaves just a kettle , old noisy aircon a tv the size of a iPad and tv reception that doesn’t work ( we had 4 rooms booked ) all with the same issue at $ 145 a night massively over priced. I have stayed in the other rooms that are considerably better , a typical example of run down rooms charged at a higher rate because there’s not much competition around. Don’t complain when companies shift there business elsewhere.

The motel rooms are spotlessly clean and are serviced daily. The staff go out of their way to make you welcome and nothing is too much trouble. The restaurant is. Beautifully fitted out. The wait staff very pleasant and the food amazing. We will be back.

The staff on the front desk and restaurant were so rude, When we booked in the s Male staff member welcomed us a female stsff member came in and rudely told us to move over as she walked through, When we were paying for the room the male member said tge restaurant is over there there is a table booked for you, so we went to our rooms and waited for the rest of our team to turn up, a little while later we went to the restaurant. The female staff member was telling us there is no tables booked, we tried to explain what we were told when we booked in. She would not listen just telling us to eat in our room we can bring it to you. Then when we go to oay they wanted to charge another $5.50 on top. We tried to explain that we were told we had a table booked. But she was rude and just kept Walking away. She said its $5.50 if you want it in your room, you should have booked a table. No matter how much we tried to say we were told we had a tabke she just shrugged her shoulders and walked of.

We were expecting a lovely room in the historic building but were given Room 2 in the old Motel. This was a very basic motel room like the typical motel rooms from the 60’s and 70’s. The furniture was cheap and overall quite spartan. On the plus side it was very clean and the shower excellent with good pressure. We were regretting not booking at one of the local B & B’s which were the same price, have more character and included breakfast for the price. The only saviour was Nelson’s restaurant in which the service was excellent and the food delicious. Next time we visit we will return to the restaurant but not the motel.
