We arrived at 1am, after a terrible experience at another lodge in Hartebeestpoort. We were immediately welcome, even though we hadn't booked. Service was professional, accommodating, and brilliant, from start to finish. The room was clean and ready for us. The venue peaceful, scenic - with plenty of wildlife around. Although there is development ongoing, it was never a bother, nor did it impede on us. The sky bar and restaurant was fantastic, and again the service good. Did not get a chance to try the spa out, as we had limited time. Close enough to Hartebeestpoort, but far enough away from the hustle and bustle. We certainly will be back.

There aren’t enough stars to rate Ukutula , from checking in to checking out is faultless, the Staff are incredible and that is all due to the exceptional training they’ve had, Willi who owns Ukutula has standards. The Staff choose who you speak too treat everyone like part of this unique family. No praise can be enough for them. The accommodation at Ukutula are just like the Staff perfect, beautifully decorated individual thatched lodges, with an outside sitting area complete with a fire pit, camp chairs to sit around the fire pit plus a table and chairs on the veranda area. The bedroom’s are beautiful a lovely sitting area with a comfy sofa, a dining table, tv, ours had kitchenette superbly equipped which we didn’t use except the fridge. The restaurant serves beautifully presented meals and breakfast is a magnificent feast. The gardens with 2 pools are gorgeous with so many animal figures representative of the wildlife. We had joined our friends there, it was the final destination on our month long trip it was a reunion and our friend said it would be special, special doesn’t come close for Dreams coming True, we’ve been privileged of visiting several countries in Africa to see wildlife in a natural habitat, to play with Lion Cubs, to be licked by Fiji the Cheetah was something I never thought I’d do, but I have never dreamed that I would hold a 4 week old Lion Cub, that is a memory to cherish forever. Not only does Ukutula make dreams come true, the conservation that they do is a vital to the wildlife world, their laboratory is fascinating and great education on what they are doing to preserve wildlife. My hotel room was old and disgusting. My shower had mould and I just wanted to leave. The Cherry restaurant customer service is disgraceful. Staff are rude and unwelcoming. Sun City as a whole needs a revamp. It is old and skank. Staff need customer service training. The Shun De restaurant was expensive but disappointing. I am a vegetarian. I ordered a vegetarian dish and found a prawn leg in my meal.... let's hope it was a prawn leg and not something else disgusting. Breakfast, tables are dirty, cutlery is dirty. My 72 year old mother was locked out of her room from 10am when we left for breakfast until 7pm as no one knew how to fix her door lock. The key card mechanism was malfunctioning. No apology that my mother had no access to her things for so many hours. Sun City service and facilities are not worth my or your money!
