Hotels near Kirche St. Ludwig, Berlin

The location is quite good with good access to the center of Berlin while being in a calm and quiet area. The staff was also polite and pleasant, and after checking out, I noticed that I forgot something and went to pick it up, but they kept it securely. The cleanliness was perfect, and the amenities were more substantial than a normal hotel (even a simple sewing set), but the curtain in the shower room was too short and didn't do its job. Toilets and washrooms are flooded and difficult to wipe. Also, the ventilation fan was too powerful and it made me very dry and my throat hurt. That was the only disappointment.

I was scheduled to stay at the Econtel Charlottenburg but as this hotel had been taken over, I was rebooked into the Best Western on Kurfurstendamn. Good job I called in advance as nobody was going to inform me of the change. Though, I was quite excited initially as this promised to be an upgrade from a 3 to a 4 star hotel. Plus the location was more convenient for me. However, despite the location, there were a few items of annoyance about this hotel. Firstly, this is not a 4 star hotel. The cleaning staff knocking on the door at 9am is not what you want to hear. Secondly, the room didn't have a kettle or coffee maker. Thirdly, the air-conditioning system made quite a racket. Finally, and most importantly, the front desk staff were far from helpful and definitely suffered from an attitude problem. It just seemed as if they considered themselves above their job and that guests were more of a nuisance than anything else. Other reviewers have mentioned these things as well so it's definitely not just me. The Spanish restaurant connected to this hotel is solid with excellent food and very helpful staff. Maybe I will return to Berlin someday but doubtful I will stay at this hotel.

Upon arrival we received an upgrade to a ”superior room”. The room was on the top floor and had a balcony facing Kurfürstendamm. The street noise was hardly audible in the room and there were no noises from the neighboring rooms or the hallway. There was a capsule coffee machine and used capsules were replaced daily. A bottle of mineral water was also provided daily. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. There was enough space in the bathroom. It has a bathtub with a shower and hand shower that was easy to regulate and had good water pressure. There is an adjustable electric heater in the bathroom, and a large central heating element in the room that could be easily adjusted using a thermostat. A small refrigerator is available. The staff was very friendly. There is a breakfast buffet, but we didn't use it. Buses and subway are a few steps away. Many restaurants and shopping opportunities in the immediate area. We had a pleasant stay!

Overall Experience Impressive property that reflects the care and attention to detail management and staff have devoted to this gem. While it isn’t next door to the Mall of Berlin (20-minute subway ride away) and does not have the city-center bustle (meh), Hotel Louisa’s Place has an old-world charm with all the modern conveniences needed for a very comfortable stay. I will stay here on my next trip to Berlin and I would highly recommend to anyone seeking a comfortable alternative to the corporate chain hotels. Room: Very much liked the room floorplan. It was like a 1-bedroom apartment with a separate living/dining/kitchen area and a patio with a table for two overlooking the courtyard. The bathroom was spacious with a huge shower. The 12-foot-high ceilings with ornate crown molding and large windows made it seem very grand. We felt as though we had a posh European flat for our week in Berlin with all the amenities of a very nice hotel. Location: I was surprised to learn that everything we needed during our stay was within walking distance. We found three grocery stores and more restaurants than we had time to try all within a 5–10-minute walk. There was also an abundance of other shops and stores near the hotel. The U-Bahn (subway) station was 1 block from the front door. The S-Bahn (main city-wide trains) station was a 8-10-minute walk or you could walk to the U-Bahn and ride it to the next stop and shorten the walk to the S-Bahn. We did not need a rental car since all of our activities were accessible from the nearby subway or train. Price: I did my homework and found this hotel to be well-positioned in the market. Value for money was very good. So glad we did not stay in the chain hotel we were considering. Service: Unlike American hotels post-pandemic, housekeeping was done every day of our stay with fresh towels as needed. They emptied the trash bins and collected recycled containers and generally tidied up. All staff were very friendly and eager to help with any questions and requests we had. Cleanliness: All aspects of this hotel were well tended to. I typically wipe down drawers and shelves before putting clothes away. That was not necessary at this hotel. The bathroom and kitchen were very clean, and I was impressed by how this older building has been meticulously upgraded and maintained.

Cheap and nice accomodation, with good location and nice staff, absolutely worth it. We had clean, simple and comfortable room. You can get plenty of free prospects of the local sights and programmes. They surprised us with a welcome drink, and after check out, for only 1€/bag, we could leave there our luggages till the departure of our flight in the evening (other left luggage stores in the city are for 2,5€/ hour...).

A space of darkness turned into a space of light: the building's past as a court and a women's prison that was transformed into a hidden green oasis with a unique character. Various elements of the old building were maintained and beautifully blended with a modern, minimalistic and wellness-focused design in warm tones. The rooms are spacious, the bathroom simply huge and the garden views add to the overall feeling of peace and serenity. A lovely touch the board games room with billiard table, while the sauna and outdoor pool were perfect for unwinding. A true Berlin gem, turning its rich history into a delightful and romantic stay.

I went to this hotel for a mid-week vacation with my lovely daughter. With an UBER it was about 10 Euro to get to the hotel. Check-in was smooth, the older man behind the desk wasnt overly friendly but rather efficient and that was fine. We paid the tourist-tax and got one room-key for our room. We paid online about 80 Euro a night and we got a room with three beds at the back. The room was clean and simple. A desk with a big-screen TV, a shower-room with a toilet and a wash-basin. The shower was ok but we didnt like the shower-curtains. Also the water would be warm for about five minutes but it didnt bother us. Everyday cleaning with new linen and towels. In the morning you can have breakfast but you have to pay for it. We didnt use it. The hotel is set conveniently in the middle of Berlin near Kurfurstenstrasse and Dam. Near the U-Bahn and busses.

Located in central of Berlin, this is probably the tallest hotel in town. They have a really nice view over the city. Very convenient with metro and all the restaurants and shops around. Rooms are clean but if you live high up, it’s hard to get mobile signal. Wifi doesn’t work so well when a lot of people are using it. One of the biggest issue if you live higher than 20th floor, the elevator won’t stop at your floor for so long. Not sure how the elevators work, you may have to wait 10 mins for getting down to lobby at busy hours (etc lunch/ dinner hour) Check in was easy and quick, and staff is friendly also.

Kinda far as an airport hotel. But the price is very nice and environment is good. My showroom runs out of shampoo and all the trash can has no plastic bags. The bed is good to sleep. Had a one short night stay. It was pleasant overall.

It's great that there is now the IntercityHotel next to the Steigenberger directly at the terminal 1/2 of the BER. It was opened only mid January 2023. The rooms are modern, practical and chic, like the most new or renovated Intercity Hotels. The staff is very friendly and engaged, some processes must certainly engage in a new team. You are just a few minutes walking distance from the terminal at the check-in, as well as at the airport train station with remote, regional and S-rail transport. Breakfast is available from 6:00 a.m., the light is available in the restaurant, there is a variety of breakfast offer. After my not so great stay in the nearby Steigenberger, the IntercityHotel Airport BER is recommended. I just hope guests will not confuse it too often with the IntercityHotel at the Schönefeld train station, the names of the two hotels is certainly not so great.
