Holiday Inn Berlin City East Side, an IHG Hotel

I liked most things about this hotel. The room was nice and the staff were doing their best. The breakfast was fine. The location is particularly good, close to Warschauer Straße and Friedrichshain. Unfortunately, the wi-fi internet was almost unusable when trying to connect from my room. It would work for a few minutes, then the connection would drop out and I would be unable to reconnect for an hour or so. This happened repeatedly and it was the same with each of my devices, so the problem was with the hotel’s internet service. I ended up using my own hotspot. It’s a shame because I liked the hotel otherwise.

Stayed for 4 nights as taking part in the Berlin half marathon. A good base and found the transport system to be very efficient. Hotel was right by a tram stop and only a 5 minute walk to a train station that connected us with the airport. On arrival we were greeted by Kerem. Throughout our stay he attended to us very well and would always make a point to find out about how are day had been. All staff were polite and helpful and very good at speaking English. We opted for the 'greenstay' option as we did not require bedroom cleaning. We received free drinks tokens instead so it was nice to relax and enjoy a drink in the hotel bar. Room very clean and comfortable.

We stayed there as prices were highly attractive at 83 euro a night, that was the main interest, seeing the hotel location, between Spanndau and West Berlin center (ku dam). The hotel is recently renovated, reception, main hall and the rooms are all pretty, new and modern. The corridors are clean but showing this is clearly a large business venue accommodating business travellers mainly (Siemens HQ Is in the same street). We were slightly upgraded thanks to my Diamond elite status, but it was a ”new” room kind off, not a suite or anything fancy, so they done the bare minimum on status recognition. The room wasn't necessarily very clean on day 1, there was sand on the chair and on the floor. The pool in the basement is nice, but rather small. There is a Scandinavian type sauna as well, and plenty towels can be found by the pool so you don't need to bring yours from the room. To be noted, on the external wall across the sauna, there is an original painting by Thierry Noir, a famous Berlin based street artist, well known for his worl on the East Side gallery back in 90's. Don't miss it ! I saw it by chance and instantly recognised his style, but the hotel isn't promoting its existence, pity. Breakfast was pretty good by all standards, plenty of choice on the buffet, to accommodate all possible diets, baked goods, cold meats, pancakes and fruit salad, real coffee of any kind you want. Plenty of free parking on the streets when we stayed, so we didn't have to use the hotel parking (25 € a day). The only con was the check-in experience on our 2nd stay, very dry, no smile, not friendly at all, by opposition to our first visit few days before. Good place, metro nearby, modern hotel. If you can accommodate with the commuting by metro, or come to berlin by car, its a good hotel

Guys, i may have found the perfect place to stay in berlin! The staff is so nice and friendly, the location is excellent, and the whole place is themed as a comic book! What is more cooler than this?! The hotel is located near zoologischer garten station, there is a bus going there or you can walk, it's not too bad. You get a free drink from the bar if you choose not to have your room cleaned that day, which is very environment friendly and a nice idea. The breakfest is excellent, they serve freshly squeezed orange juice, and have a variety of cuisines to choose from. The bread is fresh and crunchy, and you have pastries too! The The level of cleanliness was excellent, it was like checking-in every day. They give you these games to play, and there is an electric curtain that allows you to sleep tight without the sun blasting at you in the morning. They have a bluetooth speaker in the bathroom mirror, you can easily pair your phone and listen to music while you shower. All in all, highly recommended!

A very modern, arty and colourful hotel with lots of graffiti type paintwork in the main lobby and restaurant area. The breakfasts were fantastic with a very good variety of food and probably the best scrambled egg I have ever had in any hotel. The staff were very helpful and service was excellent and we had a quiet and comfortable room. The hotel is situated on the 5th floor of a shopping mall and therefore quite hard to find especially if you are arriving by car. They charge a very reasonable 3 Euros a day to park in the adjacent car park and the U Bahn stop Frankfurter Allee is just round the corner. There are a lot of good restaurants for dinner near Samariterstrasse which is a 10-15 minute walk from the hotel or one stop on the U Bahn.

The weekend rate I got for this hotel was a steal really! Yes, rooms are compact and there isn't an awful lot of storage, but more than at Motel One or Moxy which I'd put into the same league. But the place was brandnew, bed super comfy, bathroom spotlessly clean and I just loved the bluetooth speaker in the mirror, so I had my favorite music in the shower - which had decent water pressure btw. Location was great, too, even though the neighborhood as such isn't all that inviting. But the hotel is right next to S-Bahn station Schöneberg, a short hop from Südkreuz, so one gets around easily. Be aware, though, that you are nowhere near hip bars, cafes or restaurants. This is not cool Berlin, this is the outskirts of Schöneberg. The gastro scene is made of Döner Kebap joints and smokers bars.
