Hotels near West Lake, Beijing

The hotel location is fantastic, which can access most of the tourist spots within the metro. There are lots of restaurants nearby. The only stepback is that the hotel decoration is tired and the laundry machine service is expensive. They are charging you differently based on the consuming time! You can reach the hotel by line 2 & 5 and exit H to reach the hotel.

The hotel may be a little far from the metro but still within walking distance from the main tourist attractions (Tiananmen and whatnot) in Beijing. Good spread of items for the breakfast buffet. Perhaps try to avoid staying on level two where there’s a hotpot restaurant. Didn’t like the smell coming out from there. Robot sends amenities to the room upon request from some device in the room (there’s no phone but all’s good). Check in is at level 8 where you’ll get a birds eye view of the forbidden city. 24h snacks and fruits free of charge there too, nice to chill. They have a gym and automated luggage storage at b2.

Everything in regards to our stay at the Grand Hyatt was 6* except for the WiFi which wasn't of international standards. Location was spot on a central network linked to the mall with major big brands Which is linked to the 1st class train system. It's also 30mins walk to the Forbidden city. And the gym 🏋️♀️ and Pool and Spa was simply immaculate and luxurious first class with a heated pool oasis. Wished I could have spent more time enjoying the facilities. And what complimented well to the global luxurious brand was it's staff members! I have to call out the exceptional 2 departments Conceige and Housekeeping which was truly above and beyond!!! Daniel -assisted with restaurant bookings and forbidden City tickets reservations. And when he was off duty he still wechat me to suggest how to maximise the use of our tickets and best way to maximise time to visit Tianamen Square too and tips too on best way all this while he was off duty! Such dedication!!! Another staff whom I like to recognise is Cecila also from Conceige. When asked for directions on day 1, she didn't just verbalise, she left her station and ushered us all the way outside and showed us the right way around to our breakfast destination. On day 2, which is also check out day, she realised its J birthday and made arrangments for not 1 but 2 bakes so that our dearest friends could enjoy together too. She also kept in touch on wechat to organise all our logistical arrangments several times. Each time with a 😃 smile. Outstanding! Housekeeping lady for rooms 1221 and 1220 was simple though and detailed and went above and beyond too. So much personal touch to all that she did which most would never bother! Good job!! And best of all, she didn't expect anything in return. Absolutely admirable! Unsung hero! Check in staff Allan was pleasant and swift with our late check in and made our final day breakfast logistics seamless. Thank you and thanks for responding efficiently on wechat too. Con- WiFi sucks badly.....surprised that a 5* global brand couldn't keep u to. Chengdu 4* service Residence. So frustrating for global travellers like ourselves. Let me say I had the best experience here! I came with my sister and her husband from Trinidad and Tobago. The location is great , the staff are friendly and efficient not to mention caring. The location really really did it for me. In the early morning I could walk two blocks across and I’d be at the gates of the forbidden city ,which is such a beautiful place to see in the early morning without all the crowds. The restaurant next to the hotel is amazing and has the best Beijing duck in Beijing according to reviews . However if u want to eat there go early and make a reservation or do it online .we were lucky we only waited 45 minutes. 齐亚龙 was also super helpful. They have a washer and dryer and one night someone left their clothes in the dryer (so inconsiderate) however we called the staff and they carefully moved the dry clothes into one of their new laundry bags and that allowed us to use the dryer . Over a great experience. The rooms are clean and they give you water , don’t expect a view from the windows but really that isn’t so important when you’re in such a ideal location

Super appreciative this hotel let me check in early after a long overnight flight. Staff are very nice and accommodating, and the room is perfect for a solo traveller. Amenities delivered by robot is particularly cute. Location is extremely convenient, less than 10 mins walk from stations on two metro lines, as well as the lively Wangfujing shopping area. Only improvement is that sound insulation could be better, and at times I could smell cigarette smoke despite the hotel’s policy of no smoking in rooms. But in general I had a pleasant stay and slept well.

The hotel is great, conveniently located close to the subway that leaves you at Forbidden City in 15-20 minutes. The staff is super friendly, always smiling ready to help you with your luggage or questions. Breakfast has a good variety of western and Chinese food, also omelette cooking. Highly recommended! We stayed during the China-Africa forum 2024 and despite high occupancy of top level politicians, they were all very attentive with us! Don’t miss to swim in the pool!

This was my second stay in a month at Baifuyi. The first time was two weeks ago, I took a domestic flight from this hotel to Daxing airport. This time I returned to Beijing from Daxing airport and took an international flight at the capital airport. In short, it is close to both airports in Beijing. It's also close to the city center. I got off the plane just over 2pm and took the subway to the hotel just over 4pm. In the evening, when the traffic is busiest, take a ride to Houhai to have dinner and a night out. The taxi fare is only over 30 yuan a trip, indicating that the road is not far. Back to the hotel at night is by subway. 🚇 On the way we went to the Ginza Mall to buy some fruit 🍎 and drink. it was less than ten o'clock we were back to the hotel. It's as if in this hotel, after getting off the plane, you can enjoy the beauty of Beijing immediately. And this time because we have one more person, five of us. We got an apartment suite. The two-bedroom, three-bathroom suite is newly renovated, well equipped and very clean. There is a large two-door fridge, a fully automatic washing machine, and a microwave and gas oven. There is more than 100 square meters of space for five of us, more than enough. It was originally planned for five people to book two hotel rooms. Now it is more affordable and convenient to book a suite. 👍 The rooms all have balconies and large glass flooring, so you don't have to go outside and see the beautiful scenery of Beijing. The excellence of the customer service was also one of the reasons we chose to come back. Jack Fan at the front desk, very aware of the fatigue of the travelers, he quickly completed the check in, so that we can easily get on board. Whether I'm in China or abroad, I prefer to book a hotel rather than a bed and breakfast when I travel. Although the hotel is more expensive, there are strict government regulations on fire prevention, burglary and hygiene. Stay at peace of mind in a hotel. I don't think B & B will tell you about the floor plans and escape routes. But it is a must for all star-rated hotels. The advantages of a bed and breakfast are spacious and convenient. At Baifuyi in Beijing, we enjoyed the delicate luxury of the star-rated hotels and the spacious and relaxing nature of the B & B.

I got upgraded to the one above the tatami room because I had 2 big luggages and upon check in the receptionist felt like I would not be able to open up my luggage’s if I stayed the tatami room. The only downside is the room is really goddamn tiny I could open 1 luggage and the other luggage half open? But other than it being kinda small and cozy, the service of the staff made up for it. Always willing to help and greet the guests. On a side note their washing laundry area has only 2 washing/dryer machine although they have a butler service who will help you dry and hang your clothes which is really helpful in this case. Because also how tightly fit the rooms are, you probably will be able to hear things going along the corridor, so light sleepers beware. But otherwise service is honestly on par with 5 star hotels. I probably will stay here if my luggage is tiny af and I need a place to crash.

Pros - convenient location right beside metro station and shopping mall. Line 10 goes to many tourist sites either direct or with just 1 change. Strong WiFi (but blocked by company security app for those using Ms outlook). Strong hot shower pressure. Clean room with no smoking stench. Cons - in Oct room air con can only be set at 25 degrees lowest level so room feels a bit warm at times. Toilet seat no bidet (common in Shanghai). Personally don't like bed pushed against the window. Windows is very near to opposite block so have to remained closed at all times else or no privacy.

I was positively surprised by the quality of the hotel. Everything worked as expected, the rooms were clean and very beautiful. Staff is nice and there's a free shuttle bus every 30mins. I can also recommend to book a breakfast at the hotel. Not to mention the helpful personnel of the hotel (huge thanks to Michael and Rebecca at the reception :)). When I come back to Beijing I will definitely choose this hotel again.
