Do not book too long ahead of your stay at hotel! Just make sure you do Not have a health issue within the 14 days of your arrival as there will be no refund! Not even for one night out of five booked, and not even if you are a faithful multi-returning customer! I have been to the hotel every year since it was purchased by the current owners (Ash Fleming and Brock Gardner) about four years ago. I did go to the hotel when under another management from mid-2018. I also went to the hotel when under the original management (Annette & John) eight times, some years twice in the year. Annette & John are to be fully recognised for the amazingly magnificent and comprehensive building works, architecture, and classy choice of design that turned an almost a derelict building to the truly unique gem that the hotel is now. I will always remember the 6pm daily room delivery of a home made sweet made by Annette and delivered to my room by John leaving a lovely homely smell in the hallway. Such a personalised lovely gestures leave indelible memories and create a bond between people. As consumed professionals they were always discreet too. Prior to this hotel, Annette & John managed a bed & breakfast for 15 years and they knew the hotel business inside out, but, this was a Lot More than a Business for them. They were always there with their warm welcome, they actually lived at the hotel. Unfortunately for me, they had to retire and sell the hotel. I immediately communicated with the hotel owner about my arrival being on Friday instead of Thursday and explained that I had a CTscan and I was at the emergencies early week. It was the First Time Ever, that I had to change my arrival date in the hotel. Honestly I had not looked at cancellation policy and I was naturally expecting that given the number of times I had been there and given that the owner was made aware of the health reason i will get a refund for the Thursday night. Well, i was dead wrong! Whether you are a faithful multi-returning customer or not, whether you have an unexpected health reason or not, whether you comply with their request to remove your review They have a business to run, don’t they? I was offered that if I come back, Maybe, they can do a bit of discount. They are aware that because of my rapidly deteriorating health, returning to their hotel is rather compromised. They have a business to run, don’t they? Nonetheless, I was shocked by the tone of voice used to say:”I Don’t do refunds!”
