We stayed at a spacious two-bedroom duplex for two days in May. Our room and on-site facilities are well furnished and maintained in a spotless condition. Th surrounding woods are tranquil and lovely to walk in. The location is about 20 minutes from the the town of Ballator by walking.

A lovely hotel with fantastic amenities. Rooms are clean, cosy and modern. Pool and spa area are welcoming and relaxing. The lounge bar is a great place for a few drinks at the end of a long day.

We booked this three night stay believing it was close to the glenshee ski centre, a mistake I’m sure was mine, however the suite was stunning, nice Lesure centre and pool ,we found the bar and restaurant a bit limited but ventured in to town and found pubs and an Indian restaurant, in all a lovely quiet place to relax.

Stayed here for a week in a one bedroom suite, plenty room for the two of us. Small kitchenette but enough to prepare breakfast, some lunches and easy suppers. Only very small gripe is there are no coat hooks to hang wet jackets . Great to be able to cast our Netflix etc from our iPad to the TV . The pool area is lovely and it was generally quiet . Only ate in the restaurant once, it was ok but quality of food could be better. Plenty lovely places to eat in the surrounding area including The Highlander Bakehouse, Rothesay Rooms and don’t miss a treat of dinner at the Darroch Learg ( you can walk easily to it) . Room was only cleaned once during our stay. Laundry room with good size washers and dryers, these are free. The snow arrived whilst we were there but the ground staff worked hard to clear paths and carpark. The reception also supplied ice scrapers and de-icer if you’ve forgotten to take. Overall a comfortable stay and plenty to do in the area.

A very poor dining experience, 2 young gents serving were very nice but needed leadership to assist and support, they were very much let down by the standard of food served, very poor quality in produce, cooking and lazy presentation, very disappointing.

Excellent accommodation … we stayed in a two room suite. Quality of fittings are outstanding. A mini kitchen area is available with coffee percolator.. kettle … microwave and selection of dishes . Continental breakfast is available for a small cost and is delivered to the room.

This is a lovely hotel which is very convenient for exploring the Cairngorms and nearby areas. The rooms are excellent and partly self-catering with a small kitchenette. There is a nice restaurant on-site and several restaurants in nearly Ballater.

The location is great, nice historic stone buildings in a forest ! Accessing the room (10) with 3 large suitcases was not easy as, despite the lift, you need to go through 2 stairs. Room (3 people suite) was great. Pool area is great too. The experience in the restaurant has not been nice. Wait time has been crazy … 45 minutes to get drinks and then the starters immediately. From a cooking point of view, my wife’s chicken was too cooked. And my trout was too salty. Our daughter’s meal, cod loin, was OK. In a few words … could be better.
