Strategic location in the Plaka district and a stone's throw from the entrance to the Acropolis and its museum. Really nice hotel, really nice owners and staff. Varied and substantial breakfast. There was only a small problem with the hot water but it was resolved promptly.

The front desk service attitude is very good, but the rooms are very small. The ground is very convenient and the breakfast is also very good.

The inn no longer exists; apparently it closed in February which would have been good to know before we arrived at a darkened doorway at 10:30 pm. It would have been nice for either Home & Poetry OR Trip Advisor to have contacted us before we arrived in a foreign country late at night without accommodations.

Convenient location with amazing kind courteous and professional staff that left a free bottle of wine to help us relax from our long journey. A wonderful bed in a nice room with an authentic atmosphere. However the wonderful rooftop breakfast below the Acropolis was the priceless! I love this place!

We really wanted to stay here, but they've just notified us that they're closing their doors. We had to cancel our room for our September trip. This is very disappointing as we'd heard good things about the hotel, location and everything. Hopefully it's not too late to book elsewhere.

Months ago we booked this hotel for three nights in early June. Just received an email stating they have been sold, they are closing for renovations in February, and our reservation has been cancelled. No assistance finding another hotel, nothing. Now we have to scramble knowing many hotels are already booked at this point. Shameful.

Great location, Acropolis and Old Town with many more archeological sites in walking distance. View on Hadrian's gate 100 m down the road, and on the Acropolis up the road. Very friendly staff. Very nice breakfast on the roof terrace. Will come again!

Stunning and lovely. The hospitality in Greece is fabulous. Anyone planning a trip to Athens- in Plaka, which is an ancient town walkable to the Acropolis, I highly recommend a little boutique BnB called Home & Poetry which can be booked from hotels or booking dot com. I got a steal on a small single room but some are suites, one with a front balcony. There is a rooftop, breakfast, a (side/back) view of the Acropolis, many nearby eateries, bars, gelaterias, bakeries, shops. Europe is the place to NOT stay in an American hotel. I cannot wait to come back and bring my husband with me next time, and also sail to the Cyclades (that was canceled in 2020).

This lovely little hotel really couldn’t be better placed for the Acropolis, Parthenon and other main sights. It has possibly the friendliest staff I’ve ever encountered. Single room was a great price, confortable, clean and well-equipped although lacked a bedroom lamp, which would have been welcome. Good breakfast with, again, really helpful staff and items cooked fresh to order. Just one small thing prevented a 5 star rating in terms of value. The nature of the characterful old building - more of an apartment block than a hotel - means it is not well sound-proofed. Floors are wooden - beautiful but noisy - and hallways echo a lot. I had a poor night’s sleep when I first arrived but discovered the complimentary earplugs on the second night and slept soundly. This certainly wouldn’t prevent me from returning but is worth knowing in advance. I think it’s a measure of their care for their guests that they acknowledge the issue and supply the earplugs.

Quaint Boutique Hotel in SPECTACULAR area. Stayed 2 nights post cruise. Everything you need is just outside the door. Turn right, walk a block, there is the stop for Hop On Hop Off bus. Turn left, you are in the Middle of the best area ( La Plaka). So many restaurants to choose, and shops!. The breakfast up on the rooftop is a great way to start the day. A few made to order dishes, but many other choices as well. And the Orange Juice was soooooo good. We stayed in The Poetry Suite, which actually was not inside the Hotel proper. We had a private entrance around the corner. The Hotel is not suitable for anyone with mobility issues ( steps to get into the hotel, steps to get into the room. VERY SMALL elevator ( barely holds two, without luggage). All the staff was super friendly. Metro stop is about 2 blocks away ( we used it to go to the airport, with only one change of subway lines). Not plush like a luxury Hotel, but plush like a fancy home.

Home & Poetry was the perfect hotel for our family of 3. We enjoyed feeling like we were entering a grand home every time we walked in the door. Our room had 2 bedrooms and a huge bathroom. The room was immaculate and we loved that we could open the windows and look outside. The location is wonderful. Close to everything, but not in a loud area so you get a peaceful sleep. The rooftop breakfast had everything you'd want to start your day and overlooked the Acropolis.

These people are the best! I booked my room last December but had problems with *********** and inadvertently reserved and paid for two rooms when I only needed one. The first through the *********** site and the second on Home & Poetry's own web site. I didn't discover the error until I arrived at the hotel and was told what I had done. They could have rightfully insisted that I bear the responsibility for my mistake, but didn't. They graciously refunded the total cost of the second room even though this most certainly resulted in a financial loss for themselves. I felt awful for my mistake and offered to pay for the room but they refused to accept it saying my happiness was more important to them than the money. I'm still amazed! The room was perfect. Small but clean, well stocked with beverages and delightfully cool. I chose one of the hottest summers on record to visit Athens! Home & Poetry is located quite literally minutes from everything I wanted to see in this historic city. You won't need a taxi unless you want one. My friends and I walked everywhere even though it was 100 degrees all three days we were there. The free breakfast was deliciously satisfying, the staff wonderfully accommodating. I just can't say enough good things about them! If I'm ever in Athens again, this is where I'll stay.
