The very nice room.
A lovely touch, the spiral stairs “what my son liked the most”
Well we loved everything. The attention of the receptionist Alvaro.
The waiters provided great service.
Great breakfast.
The views and the pool are beautiful.
We were very happy to do the Caminito del Rey the next morning, which is right in front of the bus that takes you to the entrance.

We had a lovely ground floor room by the pool. The room was clean, a good size and suited us for a week's stay. We enjoyed the pool several times, which was also of a decent size. The views from dinner and the pool were spectacular - of the gorge and Caminito del Rey. We had really good breakfasts - essentially as much as you want and with fresh fruit and orange juice as well as both hot and cold mains. We usually ate in the restaurant, which had a broad menu and a good range of wines. The staff were always kind and helpful. We think most people come for a short trip, to walk the Caminito, but were in El Chorro for rock climbing and felt we enjoyed the best local accommodation and food. Our only issue was with breakfast, which started at 8am, and the first bus to the Caminito left at 8.40am. This was a tight schedule on the day we did it. More importantly, some days there was a huge influx of people not staying in the hotel who came for breakfast/or a coffee and these seemed very much to have precedence over hotel guests. The problem was really just from 8-9am, but the staff were then overworked, overstretched and it was not a good experience for guests or staff. We would advise leaving breakfast until 9am if possible, but the hotel administration bears a responsibility to sharpen up the process by which they deal with these breakfast pressures.

Wonderful hotel and very convenient for doing the Caminito del Rey. The restaurant is also excellent with a delicious choice of food. I recommend you to take shower gel though because the rooms have small pellet type capsules with gel and shampoo, they dissolve with water but they are not very efficient and when they do eventually explode there is barely enough soap to wash with. We had to use the minuscule hand soap provided to wash, which I thought was very odd considering the price of the room.

The location is great, handy for the Caminito Del Rey. Our room was very nice with good aircon. The pool area also very nice. But the restaurant is very mediocre and lets the hotel down. The menu isn’t great, the food so-so and the service pretty poor. A shame because the view from the terrace is superb.

We had a lovely stay at the hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. The food was good. We stayed in a room with 2 bedrooms and a lovely terrace. Unfortunately our walk at the Caminito del Rey got cancelled due to the hot weather in the afternoon but there are plenty of nice walks near the hotel and a lovely pool with amazing views to relax. We definitely recommend this hotel and we will be back.

This was a lovely hotel, absolutely perfect for doing the Caminito del Rey - it’s less than a minute’s walk away from the train station and bus stop so is in a great location. Really friendly staff and beautiful views from the pool/terrace area.

The hotel is inside a traditional building in the tiny village of El Chorro. The shuttle bus for the Caminito del Rej north entrance leaves directly outside the hotel. When booking the hotel, you should be aware that the maisonette rooms have very steep and narrow stairs inside the room. But even standard rooms are not without stairs which you may find uncomfortable the more so as there are no handrails. The staff at the reception were friendly and advised us on the shuttle service. The standard room we occupied was spacious with a large bed, although it only had small windows. The television was also quite small. The room's comfortable amenities included a minibar and a Nespresso machine, and the air conditioning functioned well. Breakfast is served from 8 am but if your shuttle leaves earlier you can order a simple breakfast package.
