Hotel Maritur - Adults Only

Very pleasant stay with no issues! Hotel is a 10-15 min walk from the marina which was nice. Hotel nice and quiet. Breakfast was fine, cooked items made at time of order so its fresh. Nice selection of pastries and breads. Rooms are dated but are clean and tidy. Tv screens are tiny and hard to see from the other end of the room. Staff all friendly and welcoming. I'd stay here again!

Firstly, let me start by saying I absolutely can't fault this hotel. It was clean and the staff friendly, helpful and spoke excellent English!!! Sunbed where easy to access around the pool. The breakfast was spot on, a mixture of a freshly cooked full English and continental. I cant comment on the rest of the food as we choose to eat out. The room ammendmenties were good, mini fridge, hairdryer and aircon. This hotel would be perfect for people that just want peace, quiet and nothing more... but that wasn't for me. As two women in our mid 30's we wanted a quieter hotel away from the main *****/ night life, but with in close enough distance to still access for a few hours. This hotel was within a great distance from the old town and marina. However, it was too quiet for us. Everyone went to bed early in the hotel. There was no evening entertainment, no music around the pool, and no poolside entertainment such as aqua aerobics/games. The hotel didn't seem to have many guests, and they were all of an older generation than us. This is fine, but we felt very uncomfortable and conscious that we may be disturbing their "extra quiet" break. The location was fantastic, close to 2 beaches, the marina and the old town. We didn't go to the new town as we heard it was more for the younger generation, but I believe that's close too. It wouldn't be ideal for people with walking difficulties, it's a very hilly area. We stuck to ubers, which were cheap and readily available (about €5.50 to the old town or marina).

We arrived before check in and they allowed us to check in early. Reception area was clean and spacious. We went to our room with a side sea view. Our initial thoughts were nice room. However, on closer inspection, although clean, there were numerous, large and unsightly rust marks on the bath, the lamp shades had brown marks on them and there were several quite sizeable bits of chocolate on the floor. The carpet looked dated. I let reception know about the marks on the bath and they said they would let daytime staff know and see if we could change rooms. We were there for 4 nights, no one contacted us. Overall the hotel was clean, however, in need of updating and maintenance.

Where do I start? We booked a week here for our honeymoon as it was adult only and had great reviews, I'm not sure who wrote these great reviews but we certainly didn't get the 4* hotel feeling or the 5* reviews. Firstly, we were "upgraded" to a sea view room, except the sea view was pretty spoilt by the building works directly opposite our room, where the noise starts from 7am til at least 6pm. Next, the kettle in our room was a cheap, plastic travel kettle, which is ok IF the hotel provided coffee, tea, sugar and milk, or even decent mugs instead of the 2 awful paper cups we were left with, we had to go purchase our own from local shop. Then onto the TV... Only 1 UK channel, which was sky news on a loop ALL DAY, that's it, not even English subtitles. Ok, so I'll shower instead..well, the smell of sewage when you 1st turn on water is horrific, the cheap, plastic showerhead however worked wonderfully for about 30 secs when you then get a sudden blast of cold water, then boiling hot, Luke warm and finally hot again. Also, no posh toiletries bottles as suggested on website photos, just 1 bottle of body wash/shampoo to share and 1 bottle of soap near sink, complete with 2 more paper cups, weirdly next to sink for reasons unknown. No bath mat so you either soak the floor or have to use one of the hand towels they provide to put on floor. The outside pool was freezing and dirty, but ok if you keep your mouth closed I guess. Sun loungers need replacing ASAP, they are filthy. Aqua bar was nice, nobody used it but was a nice touch and warm too. Although drinks were expensive anyway. Outside area needs massive overhaul to update it, everywhere looked dirty and dingy. On a plus, staff were lovely and the breakfast options were sufficient. Finally, it's on a very, very high hill...ok to walk down but walking up...WOW!!! we did it once, never again, we used the local bolt services to drive us everywhere, very quick and cheap. If you can, please visit the Marina, it's beautiful and old town (not the *****) ... absolutely stunning beaches and views. On a whole, we will NOT be staying here again, did not enjoy the experience at all. How it's a 4* hotel I'll never know, more like a 2 or 3 at a push. Take no notice of pics on website, they are not a true definition of the hotel.

Stayed here previously 4 or 5 years ago. As good as ever, very clean, great staff, comfy rooms and great breakfast. Location is about a km to the marina and another km to Albufeira. So close enough but well away from the bright lights so to speak.

We returned to Hotel Maritur after 18 months away. Not a lot had changed! The staff were still professional and friendly and we enjoyed the breakfasts. Remember to ask for a cooked breakfast if you want one! It is true that the place is looking a little dated but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It is a pleasant 15-minute walk to the Marina and was our daily exercise, the walk back is steep so we mostly caught taxis back to the hotel.

We loved our stay here.our room wasn't ready as we were early but they organised another one for us straight away.The cleaners came in everyday .Comfy bed and nice big bathroom.Breakfast was amazing .cooked there and then for you.pizzas were great.we tried the fish dishes and the lamb at night which was very good.pasta dishes were OK.The bar and restaurant staff were fantastic so friendly.They make a good jug of sangria and a pina colada! The pool area was lovely and peaceful but pool a bit chilly.we didn't bother with the indoor pool.A 10 minute walk down to a lovely secluded beach with an amazing fish restaurant. You have to try it .some lovely views.The marina isn't too far a walk away and about another 20 minutes is the old town.we walked there and back but it is a wee bit steep .thanks for a great time we hope to come back some time.

Lovely hotel , staff so friendly especially the lady who done the eggs at breakfast, nice location about 20 min walk to the Marina & 45 min to the old town & large beach , don't use local cash machines big rip off

The hotel is just outside the main Albufeira area but is located close to numerous beaches. Breakfast is adequate. In defence of the hotel I’d say we travelled outside the main season, nevertheless, areas particularly the gardens and pool area are in need of some attention as are the rooms whilst clean are very dated. Special mention to the staff who are really nice.
