We had a fabulous 10 days at this lovely hotel. Everything was perfect, the Manager and all the staff are so friendly, helpful and professional, the food was amazing, so much choice and the Chefs and waiting staff are incredible. Our sea view room (306) was very comfortable and serviced by wonderful housekeeping staff keeping our tea and coffee stocked, cleaned and fresh towels daily. We loved the pool where the beds are extremely comfy as are the ones on the beach, which was literally through the hotel just down a few steps. The area is quite flat too which we like. All in all we had a great time, it suited us being an Adults Only and also short distance from the airport. Will definitely return to this great hotel in the future.

On the whole we had a great holiday at this hotel. However upon arrival we were allocated the incorrect room and so was my mother. The Manager was very apologetic and sorted it out plus gave us compensation but we had to wait for 2 days for the room type we had booked to become available. The sometimes evening entertainment was ok. The breakfast and dinner was very good, tasty and varied. The rooms were kept very clean although a little outdated. Eventually we had a room which over looked the ocean and the view was amazing but we did not like the sink and vanity area being outside of the bathroom and in the room as such, it would of been much better in the actual bathroom. Had we of known of this set up we would have kept the initial room which had a side sea view and big complete bathroom. However the side sea rooms do not have any drawers which is a pain. The area around the hotel is fine although we would have preferred a few more bars . We tried to get the local bus but it was packed so we got a taxi to Chania which was well worth it. Lots going on there and plenty of restaurants etc. The staff at the hotel are all amazing and work extremely hard. This hotel is most suited for guests wanting a very relaxed sedate holiday.

Hotel had overbooked, but instead of telling us the truth fed us lies about electrical faults and flooding. It only appears to be the Seaview rooms affected. We were moved to a completely unsuitable hotel Tuesday to Friday. Eventually got the room we had booked.

We spent a week at Santa Marina Plaza in Mid October. We’d read lots of the tripadvisor reviews before we went, and they rang true when we were there. The hotel staff are really friendly and attentive, nothing is too much trouble. The manager is everywhere at all times of the day. He is clearly determined that visitors have an enjoyable time. We were fortunate to have booked a sea view room with a balcony and each morning the sunrise was spectacular. The hotel is beautifully clean, and the smaller size of the hotel means that you feel that staff recognise you and remember who you are, your likes, dislikes and room numbers. We enjoyed the themed food evenings in the restaurant and there was always plenty of food. The chef came out to check the food regularly during service and sorted out any shortages. As a side point, any hotel that offers five pillow options takes your sleep and happiness seriously. To pick up on things I’d read before we went. There was loud music from the bar next door, but it was only one night during our stay. I believe that there was an issue with availability of a room for a visitor during our stay, but the problem was sorted amicably. The issue does seem to revolve around the point at which the travel companies notify the hotel which customers are arriving the following day. We arrived late and were provided with food in our room to greet us. We had a late departure and we were provided, at a fee, continued access to our room much later in the day than is specified. Both of these situations seemed to work for everyone. Would we return, certainly we would. If you’ve got this far through the review and are still undecided, go and experience it for yourselves. You won’t regret it.

Just a true review from our stay at the Giannoulis Santa Marina hotel in Chania. It’s going to be a small review as I have not much to say about the hotel. Everything is superb from A nice well come from the reception girls and through our stay they were very helpful with any info we have ask. Staff were always happy to help you with everything you need. Rooms were nice size with refrigerator kettle and replenish tea or coffee every day, cleaned every day, comfy beds and pillows for a good night sleep. Hotel split in 2 buildings one by the beach I have to say it is right on the beach you don’t get many hotels like that, the other part is over the road with underway passage, hotel grounds are very clean very beautiful and sunbeds are free. Beach bar perfect serving drinks from 10 till 6.00 big thanks to Manousos and Stella for the good service they provide every day, also big thanks to Michalis and Sveltava at the evening bar for the hard work they do them self’s. Restaurant and food, hotel provide good and tasty food lots of people will say is repetitive but you get this in most hotels also they provide some different dishes every day as far the food is taste and nice no matter. I have spoke to the managers and told them what areas they need to improve and one of them is the snacks by the beach bar and cakes in the restaurant and maybe more privacy to the ala carte restaurant and drop the charges for normal drinks as you are all inclusive ok if you want branded alcohol fair enough. In total we have enjoy our stay at your brilliant hotel and we hope we come back in the future thank you for your hospitality i forgot to say the beach is beautiful clean and very safe (ps) for the gests get some mosquito repellents for your stay in the summer you will need it

Lovely hotel and glad we chose to stay here. Our room was spacious and kept clean and had everything we needed, The public areas also kept clean and could always get a sunbed by the pool. Definitely the best part of the beach and if we arrived before 11.00 we got a sunbed, however we did notice that people strolling along the beach did decide to use the beds, so maybe a little more control of this is needed to ensure beds are just for guests. There was a good choice of food both at breakfast and at dinner (although we only ate in the restaurant a couple of times in the evening) and it was good quality. But by far, the staff at this hotel are the biggest asset. Everyone from Management through to restaurant team and cleaners are so friendly and helpful. If I had to give any downside, the hotel was quiet in the evenings and on most nights the bar area was empty but I would still definitely recommend to stay here.

I was expecting a great holiday at this hotel after regularly checking the reviews and it fulfilled my hopes and expectations. We stayed for ten nights at the beginning of October on half board basis. When the transfer drops you off the front of the hotel looks a little underwhelming / understated but once inside and beyond the feeling is that you've made a great choice. You are immediately warmly received in reception by the reception team with sparkling wine. There was initially a problem with room allocation but it was only the first night. The hotel has a boutique / intimate atmosphere as opposed to a busier all inclusive hotel. The pool area is calming with good sunbed availability and the pool area adjoins a lawned area which gently slopes down to the beach where there are more sunbeds belonging to the hotel. The pool bar area looks outwards to the sea and the bar menu has great choices for lunch: pizza, salads, club sandwiches etc all of which are excellent. The staff at the bar ( Kevin and Nicky) are friendly and warm and the restaurant staff are exceptionally friendly too ( special thanks to Veronica and Nicoletta ). The food at breakfast and dinner was varied and delicious. The rooms are very comfortable and they are cleaned and beds made each day. The surrounding area is good with local busses only €2 to Chania ( not to be missed ). On two nights we ate away from the hotel and the Taverna options nearby are unlimited which might make bed and breakfast a better option next time. That's not to say evening dinner at the hotel wasn't good, it absolutely was delicious and I loved that the Chef came into the restaurant to meet guests. I fail to see how anyone would not enjoy and appreciate this hotel especially it's laid back vibe and position on the beach. If in doubt then go ahead and book it. I must however be slightly negative on two points to be 100% honest. Firstly there is clearly an issue with room allocation upon arrival based not only on my direct experience but also talking to other guests and also reading previous reviews. However the management go out of their way to make ammends by upgrading and / or offering free lunch with wine at the bar; despite this some guests are still problematic. Secondly ( and this is my own personal opinion) I thought the drink prices were overpriced especially wine. Most guests bought alcohol from the nearby supermarkets and asked Kevin at the bar for ice and drank it on their balcony. I think the drink pricing needs reviewing and I also think a happy hour - maybe 2000 to 2200 - would encourage guests to use the hotel bar. Nevertheless it was a great stay and it was a pity to come home.

The hotel is SOOOOO very relaxed with exceptionally friendly, efficient staff. The manager Alexandros is always around the hotel, greeting every guest making sure that everyone is happy and satisfied with what the hotel offers. He is a very hands on helping in the dinning room, tidying and serving in the beach bar and always ready to answer any queries or offer help when he can. Katerina on reception has the answer to any questions you may have and, along with all of the staff, greets you with a smile and a wave. The food is tasty and varied with Greek and international offerings. Waiting staff friendly and very efficient. Domestic staff always greet you with a smile and once again very efficient. The hotel is ideally situated with easy access to the pool and beach with comfy clean sunbeds always available at the pool and on the beach. All in all we had a wonderful holiday at this well run hoteland can fully recommend this adults only hotel for a very chilled and relaxed atmosphere.

The hotel is lovely, it is kept very clean both in the rooms and pool area. If backs onto a blue flag beach which is brilliant. There are plenty of loungers on the beach and round the pool and never any issue getting one. The food in the buffet restaurant is superb all very local with some theme nights. The balconies are small with 2 chairs which I did not find very comfortable but didn't sit out there much. The staff at the beach bar are great and will bring drinks down to the beach if you ask them but there is no service on the beach. Food in the beach restaurant is also very good and varied from toasted sandwiches to salads and full meals. There is a wine list recommend the Cretan wines and if you don't want to drink a full bottle they will put it in the fridge for the next night. By the end of 2 weeks the staff knew what are room number was which made us feel valued. The only negative about this hotel is the overbooking, we were moved from a first floor room to a ground floor after 2 nights, staff moved us whilst we were out on a trip but it did mean we lived out of our suitcase for 2 nights. Talking to other guests we weren't the only ones moved rooms, some were put in different hotels! If it wasn't for this I would have give this hotel 5 stars.
