Hotels near Rotunda, Adelaide

The Rockford is in a great location, being close to restaurants, shops, entertainment venues and public transport. Our room, at the rear of the hotel was quiet, of ample size with full length windows and a sliding door which opened onto a long narrow balcony. Some of the furniture had seen better days, but was still functional and comfy. The reverse cycle air conditioner was very effective. The large ensuite bathroom contained a two person spa, separate shower, heat lamps and toiletries in eco-friendly dispensers. Our rate included breakfast, which was very good and consisted of the usual bainmaries, eggs to order and a good selection of bread and cereals. All members of staff we met were very friendly and helpful. Pre stay emails were answered promptly and all requests granted. As a Gold Accor ALL member, I received a room upgrade, welcome drink vouchers, a couple of delicious Haigh’s chocolates and a 1 o’clock check out.

Loved our four day stay at Ibis Adelaide. Fabulous location, close to Rundle Mall, Galleries, Arts precinct and everything Adelaide has to offer. Friendly service. Spotlessly clean. Parked our car for four days but only charged as we exited only on Day 4 at a cost of $24. Charges during stay are per exit so local public transport was all we needed. Would stay here again.

Do NOT GO to the restaurant, Koomo, on the 10th floor for dinner. The worst service we have had in any Crowne Plaza, or in any restaurant in Adelaide, and the most incompetent management to fix a very trivial issue. Last night my wife and I had booked a table for 6 people - two clients and two colleagues from Sydney and Perth.  The restaurant was about half full when we arrived. There were only 2 waitresses working in the restaurant, and it took us more than half an hour to be given menus, and a wine order to be taken.  It took another 20 minutes, after asking many times, for our food order to be taken. Two of our guests ordered a la carte from the menu,  and the other four wanted to try the ”tasting menu” - more expensive than the al la carte menu, with various preset courses. This is where things really started to go wrong. The tasting menu consisted of a choice between beef and chicken. Three people wanted beef and the other person wanted chicken.We were told by the waitress that the kitchen would not cook only one chicken for one person, and that two people would have to have this - in other words the four people could be served either all beef, or 2 chicken + 2 beef, but not 1 chicken and 3 beef. We really thought the waitress was joking, but realised she was serious. We asked her, very politely, if she could have a word with the kitchen and try to arrange this ”difficult” request. Some 15 minutes later the waitress returned and told us that it was not possible and the kitchen was not prepared to cook only one portion of chicken - it must be two portions and somebody else in our group wanting beef should cancel his beef and eat chicken instead. We asked to see the manager to see if he could sort this out, and very clearly told the waitress that if we could not get the food we wanted from the menu, then we would leave and go to another restaurant. No manager came to see us, but the waitress returned and told us that she had discussed with the manager and that the kitchen still refused to cook only one portion of chicken. We were not impressed. We paid the bill for the wine,  put on our coats and left the restaurant. As we were leaving someone from management (hotel or restaurant?) came to us and asked if we could reconsider and stay, and he would ”try” and convince the kitchen. Too late - our first experience of trying the Koomo restaurant had already been spoiled - poor service from the beginning and no feeling whatsoever for handling customers, and not any attempt to fix the very minor point of what we wanted to order by the management, until we were actually leaving.  I do not blame the waitress - she was caught in the middle with no support from the kitchen staff or the management. This is absolutely a management issue - one of making sure that all staff are trying their best to give good service to their customers, especially if the restaurant is selling itself as a high end one. The hotel is located in the city center, with excellent location and convenient transportation. It is a one-minute walk to the central market and there are many shops and restaurants nearby. The room is spacious, the open kitchen is fully equipped, and all tableware and utensils are available. The terrace has an open view. The waiters were friendly. We stayed for 9 days and were very satisfied. Will stay again next year.

Well reviewed hotel, which we found disappointing. Firstly, on arrival (we arrived around 11am), at check-in we were told that our room wasn't ready so the receptionist after reminding us that check-in was at 3pm, stored away our luggage and promised to text us when the room was ready, we went for a walk, after having lunch, about 2.5 hours later, we went back and the room still wasn't ready, after an hours waiting in the reception area and watching guests checking in without any problem my wife (again) asked when our room was ready, her reply was that the room had been ready for some time and she thought that we were relaxing, so she didn't want to disturb us ( no text either) - really! Our stay was bed with breakfast, breakfast menu we thought was prescriptive, we had a choice of tea/coffee or orange juice couldn't have both as it was extra, throughout the breakfasts, chef found it impossible to fry an egg without charring it. The pool which is shown in the picture is small, get your fitness bunny in and that's it, then again we found it filthy, looking on the side wall there was a 2” (50mm) black, thick tide mark all around the inside of the pool and 'bits' on the floor so it seems cleanliness isn't top of the list, which comes to our room, nice sized and comfortable, but why the cleaner couldn't clean our room when he was either next door or the room facing was puzzling even though we put our tag on our door. A thing we found with regard to the reviews of this hotel I found that quite a few of these were people from Adelaide who not only gave this hotel 5 stars, but only ever did one review - hmm? The hotel is situated about a 10/15 minute walk from the centre of town and appeared to be a popular place to stay amongst the business fraternity

This is a very new hotel (opened within the last 12 months and is a new build) and it was an excellent stay. At check in I was greeted by an incredibly friendly person at reception and was promptly given a room key for a room on the 10th floor (of eleven) which had an excellent view! The bed in the room was incredibly comfortable with pillows that more than met my incredibly picky tastes in pillows. The bathroom was well laid out and had liquid hand soap for washing your hands which I always appreciate seeing. The TV in the room had Foxtel channels plus also had inbuilt Chromecast support for casting your streaming apps to it which is also something I've grown to love in hotels and wish more did this! The hotel was in a good location for the city although I'm not sure what the hotel's official parking arrangements are - because I was staying on the weekend, I ended up parking at the KPark outdoor parking area on the corner of Angas and Pulteney Streets (about three minutes walk away) which charged $4 for 12 hours of parking. There are also bus stops right outside the hotel and you can easily walk further up Pulteney Street to get to bus stops to other parts of town. I was very impressed with all aspects of my stay here and would happily stay here in again in the future without question, but I do have one suggestion - another bin in the room would be nice, as the only bin I could find was a small one in the bathroom and I filled it in about thirty seconds after I put my takeout rubbish in it.

We have stayed at the Walkers Arms a number of times. The man reason is the rooms are spotlessly clean with great beds and they’re spacious. Parking is onsite and free, we like that and it is within easy reach of te city. You can drive to the city in five minutes or get a bus at the front door, almost. But the best thing about the hotel is the team who look after guests and freshen up our rooms. They are so friendly, helpful and love a chat and they’re always interested in what we are doing for the day. They are a tell credit to the Walkers Arms and the reason we keep coming back.

Decided to try he Arkaba Hotel bistro twice during my stay in Adelaide. I'm glad I did. Whilst this is a huge complex that has the bistro, pokies, sports bar and accomodation, it is a family friendly place that is well patronised. When I was there on a Friday and Sunday night, the dining room was bustling, with diners having a meal before theatre/comedy shows and birthday celebrations, in addition to the usual casual dining. On Friday night, I tried the sourdough garlic bread with cheese, which had some nice density to it, grilled to perfection with stretchy cheese. Then I had the beef schnitzel with mushroom sauce. The schnitzel was crunchy and I really liked the mushroom sauce - lots of mushrooms in a possible cream of mushroom soup base. Lots of crispy chips were on the plate too. When I went back on the Sunday, I had the Yoder smoked scotch fillet, once again with mushroom sauce. I didn't need the sauce, as the steak had a lovely Smokey flavour that stood on its own. I ordered mine medium, and it was cooked perfectly. The Caesar salad was fresh and tasty, and the dressing was not too heavy. The chips were crispy once again, but the only downside were the two onion rings, which could have done with a bit longer in the fryer. Meals are ordered and paid for at the register, with drinks purchased separately at the bar. Multiple televisions screens showing sport and select commercial stations are also present in the bistro. All in all, next time I visit Adelaide, I will be heading back to Arkaba Hotel for a meal.

Really clean and modern apartment with two good size bedrooms. The kitchen has an oven, dishwasher and all the electrical and cutlery you need. Perfect for families who may not always want to eat out all the time. Friendly staff. Woolworths is a 5-10 mins walk away. There is also Jenny’s bakery 15 mins walk along Glen Osmond Road towards the city who serves a great coffee and amazing pastries baked onsite! It’s only a 5-10 mins drive into Adelaide. Only feedback I have is the Block C 102 ground floor apartment we were appointed to could get very noisy with all the door slamming of people going in and out of the building. It can be really loud when you are sleeping since the apartment is right next to the foyer doors. Will consider staying again when we next visit Adelaide.
