The museum's unique exterior shape quickly made it a Doha icon, consisting primarily of simple white limestone, a main building with a unique geometric shape, a wing and a large courtyard. The main building is five stories high, including ceramic craft exhibition area, glass craft exhibition area, textile exhibition area, etc. The history of the exhibits spans from the 7th century to the 19th century, and some of them can be called treasures of Islamic art. Among the most prized are the 9th-century white ceramic bowls and the 10th-century bronze fountain heads in the shape of ewes.

Since 1997, the stadium has hosted the Qatar Athletics Super Grand Prix, an annual track and field event, which has become a stop of the IAAF Diamond League. The stadium was renovated and redesigned before the 2006 Asian Games. It looks like a half-opened shell with a roof on the west side and a large platform on the east side.

Reviews from Real Guests:

Raed Alhaji: Khalifa International Stadium has hosted a long list of momentous sporting events since its inauguration in 1976. In fact, rarely is football or athletics mentioned in Qatar without referring to this venue. Naturally, the stadium received a complete refit for the FIFA World Cup 2022™ as a reward for its long-standing service. On reopening in May 2017, it played host to the Amir Cup Final – the club football event close to the hearts of all Qataris.   The stadium’s magnificent dual arches were always its most recognisable features. These remain intact – but now feature a wide canopy stretched out below them. This complements the stadium's cooling system to maintain a comfortable temperature for players and fans alike. The new tier added 12,000 seats, while digital lighting and a modern façade brought new sparkle to an old friend. Having previously staged the Arabian Gulf Cup, the FIFA Club World Cup™ and IAAF World Athletics Championships, this venue is ready to excite the world as part of the greatest football show on earth.

Best park in Qatar , i would say. enough parking space, vast area of park, aerobic devises, large pond and boating, small food cabs and cafeteria and a good jogging road. The best place in Qatar to spend the family time with children. It s a very chic kid friendly park. Also very clean and there is a ton to do and lots of small snack shacks. I would recommend going during the day, do a quick walk/run drink a coffee and cross the street to do some shopping Great park and wide green area. Has a running course and a pond with geese in the center. Great place for a family outing. Its an awesome place for families and kids to play. Jogger and walking tracks available. Relax with your day out..... Enjoy. Weekends (Friday,Saturday) are filled with people. You have families come by with their kids with food packed from home , basically they have a picnic at the park on the weekends. This is one of of the many places where you find alot of people in Doha. Huge space, long walks along side the water which houses ducks and fishes , the over bridge and the walkway with the water from one side flowing out to the other side are few of the things you could enjoy there along with some eateries and coffee shops too This park in the middle of city in Doha where you feel like you get connected to the nature. Such a calm atmosphere and Peace vibes. Appreciate the management for maintaining it clean. Great place for a cool evening walk or a jog or a picnic or even to play. A huge green place. Loved the atmosphere. Lovely large green space in busy Doha! Well manicured lawns and beautifully landscaped park....a little dimly lit for some, though. It’s filled with luscious greenery & landscaping, variety of trees, birds, ponds with Swans, ducks & other birds who love swimming. Synthetic track for cyclists & walking/running. It’s full of people especially families… it’s a picnic spot… ppl come with food… toys… balls etc & while the kids enjoy their freedom… adults engage in conversation with friends/family over coffee. Fitness enthusiasts can enjoy the open gym equipments like cycling machines, pull up bars, abs workout etc. Kids can enjoy their time with roller skates, skate boards, scooters, cycles, football, they love this place. Kids can play with RC (Radio/Remote Controlled boats in the pond. The pond is 3 metres deep… Obviously Swimming is not allowed. Now we come to another great highlight in the city: Barzan Towers.

Barzan Towers

Opening Hours: Open 24 hours

Ticket Price: Free

Recommended Length of Stay: 1-2 Hours

Location: Umm Salal Mohammed | Near Doha, Doha, Qatar

These newly restored towers are located in the village of Umm Salar Mohammed on the outskirts of Doha and were built between 1910 and 1916. Balzan means "high ground", and the towers may have been used as watchtowers to protect local water sources and as astronomical observatories to determine lunar dates. The towers were extensively restored in 2003 and measured 16 meters high. Although the purpose of the towers is not fully established, it is believed that the towers were built along the sea to keep an eye out for approaching ships and monitor local pearl divers. The towers have been air-conditioned since reopening to the public.

Reviews from Real Guests:

Raed Alhaji: The Barzan Towers are located about 20 km north of Doha in the village of Umm Salal Mohammed, which was developed in 1910 by Sheikh Mohammed bin Jassim Al Thani. Earlier towers may have existed at the site throughout the nineteenth century. The western tower on the site, called the Barzan (or high) Tower, was built by Sheikh Mohammed between 1910 and 1916 as part of an extensive wall that surrounded the village and its gardens. The wall still exists in part inside a park, close to a small mosque. The Eastern Tower was added after 1958, with a design based on the western tower and of an equal height of 14 metres. The western Barzan Tower consists of three levels and has a distinctive ‘T’ shape that is considered unique in style in the Gulf region. The Eastern Tower, Al Burj Al Sharqi, exhibits the typical rectangular shape of Qatari towers. Local folktales suggest that the Barzan Tower was used to observe incoming pearling ships, but this is unlikely, since the shore is more than 10 km away. It is more probable that the Barzan Tower was used as a lookout to monitor the surrounding area with its wells and arable land. Both towers were restored in 2014, together with a madrasa (religious school) and a masjid (mosque) and are now situated in a garden with indigenous plants.

Reviews from Real Guests:

Raed Alhaji: Very interesting museum located at one end of the Corniche. Gives an excellent history of Doha and the transformation that is taking place.

Day 10 | Afternoon

Simaisma Beach nearby is the top choice before you leave Msheireb Enrichment Centre and hit the road.

Simaisma Beach

Recommended Length of Stay: 2.0-3.0 Hours

Location: Doha, Qatar

Simaisma beach has lots of shade, toilet facilities, BBQ, two mosques and a new covered play area. Cars can't get to the beach, so it's safe, with nice white sand and mangroves. The beach is very shallow, and it is just past the knees after walking a long way. It is very safe to bring children together.
