TOP 10 Cedar Rapids Hotels

This hotel is gross. There were so many issues with our stay. The carpet was dirty and nasty. We wore our shoes as much as possible. The room had dust bunnies on the light fixtures, so obviously these were not cleaned. The floor in one of the bedrooms was consistently wet/damp. The window treatments were not all attached to the rods. The light did not work over one of the vanities. The couch had hair all over it. The chair was wedged into a corner, it was also gross with food stains and when we lifted the cushion there was food. The edges of all the rooms had not been vacuumed, as there was food, hair, and lint. The stove was unusable because it was rusted and the side of the refrigerator was splatted with food debris. Some areas of the carpet had stains that looked like blood. The dresser drawers did not all open. There were several various styles of plates and cups. The toaster had mold in it. The back of the televisions were covered in dust so thick that you could write your name. The dust covering the air vents was quite thick. The air conditioner kept switching over to heat mode even though it was 90 degrees outside. All the light shades were dirty, stained and ripped, We were afraid to use the pool based on the conditions of the rooms. The kitchen/lobby area was out of sugar and the staff did not know when more would be available. We asked for the room to be cleaned but were told it gets cleaned on Fridays. We complained again and finally got someone in to sweep and dust. We mentioned our concerns to the front desk and were assured that the details would be handled but when we asked again no one knew what we were talking about. We even showed the front desk photos of our concerns. The steady answer we kept getting was that there would be no repairs because the hotel was set for remodeling. We still paid for decent accommodations and I do not care when or if a remodel will happen the hotel needs to be livable now.

5 stars to this location. The staff were all friendly. Amazing customer service! They welcomed you via text hours before arrival. My text messages via app were answered promptly. John, the shuttle driver was amazing. Front desk staff are super friendly, Becky, Mary and Liwayway. Restaurant staff too are all great! The hotel is in the same building as the arena.

We stopped over for one night at this hotel during our road trip. We got a King Bedroom Studio Room which was more than enough for the night. The room was nice but the bathroom door had a bunch of scratches which looked like someone probably left a dog in there and they scratched up the door trying to get out. We got the free breakfast in the morning. They had runny scrambled eggs, some sausages and hot breakfast sandwiches. The breakfast was not great so I would recommend just skipping it and just getting breakfast from a local restaurant nearby. Overall it was an okay hotel... I would probably stay there again but just get breakfast elsewhere.

We were in town to ‘try out’ Cedar Rapids as a possible retirement decision. The staff at this Fairfield Inn & Suites were very helpful and friendly. Our room was nice. I requested a room with a step in shower,,,and that is what we got. We were pleasantly pleased with the breakfast options each morning. Room was clean. We would choose to stay here again.

I was visiting a family member at this hotel and was mistreated. I have never experienced this at any hotel, not even those below three stars. I smiled and said hello to a few of the employees in passing, and they looked at me like a piece of trash (housekeeping/front desk), dates 17th -19th of July. How is the hotel still open and operating? I did not request anything from anyone, and I was unsure why I was treated this way. Whoever runs this facility needs to get new staff and maybe fire the manager if they cannot hire friendly people. I hate saying that, but why would anyone stay where they are treated poorly, even as a guest of a person staying here? I am a nice and quiet person that minds their own business. Then I had my car given a warning for parking in their parking lot. I just parked my car, not even in a prohibited parking spot. I'm so damn confused. I think this company should be closed and revamped. Apologies do nothing for the experience I had. Although this is minor compared to what the actual guest experienced. But due to the current rules, I can't post anything for them.

The Saturday night front desk guy is currently on a power trip. There were 4 of us sitting in the lobby watching a football game. One guy moved a chair so he could see the TV better and the front desk worker went on an absolute power trip. He yelled to move the chair back, told him he would call the cops if he didn’t move the chair. The guy quietly asked why he couldn’t move the chair so he could see the tv and the front desk guy lost it. He threatened to call the cops, call his manager and then lied to his manager about the number of people in the lobby. He told her the whole team was getting rowdy while it was 4 adults and 2 kids, quietly watching a football game. I have never in my life witnessed such awful customer service like this. Decent enough hotel but this kid clearly needs a lesson in customer service. I hope he figures out life soon.

We enjoyed our stay in the Tru Hilton! The room was nice and clean, and the bed was very comfy! The bathroom and shower were nice as well, and the breakfast was good! We could have used an extra night just to use the pool and other amenities! 5/5 would recommend!
