The Ambassador is a newly renovated hotel just off the lake in Zurich. Old town and shopping just minutes away. Train station and tour busses a 30-minute walk Staff was very friendly and the room was very comfortable and clean. WiFi didn't work but got a passcode for the business WiFi instead. Television also had some issues (kept rebooting). But, we chalk that up to a new place. Everything else was great!

Friendly and welcoming staff, communication is barrier-free. However, at the time of checkout, we paid the city tax in cash, but the employees did not figure out, and the credit card was swiped again. Fortunately, there was no departure, so that the staff canceled the order in time. The breakfast is very good. The bread is baked in the morning. The snacks are also hot food. It is fresh in the morning and is suitable for Chinese people. Modern facilities, Dyson hair dryer, free minibar, free capsule coffee, hot water bath, but the pillow is very soft and thin, my husband sleeps for one night... Hotel location is closer to the train station (not zurich hb station), but it takes 10-15 minutes to walk from Bahnhofstrasse. The location is excellent. It is definitely 30 minutes away from the airport. If you are at the station, push your luggage for 5-8 minutes. About 15-20 minutes from Bahnhofstrasse, there is also a coop within 5 minutes walk. There is no air-conditioning. If you book in summer, please note that the room is still a little stuffy. Breakfast is very average, there is no refrigerator in the room, only a coffee machine, and the bar for breakfast downstairs is 24 hours. The hotel is pretty good and the price is right. But don't expect too much for breakfast.

We had a terrible experience on the second night of the stay: We went out for city tour in the morning and when we come back to the room in the afternoon, our room is like being robbed, 3 out of 4 suitcases are missing, the bathroom is only half way clean, balcony door left open, most clothes hanging in the wardrobe are missing. I called front office immediately and i have been told that housekeeping had found the door of wardrobe is broken and has a risk of falling, so for safety reason, therefore, they have transferred our suitcases to the new room. so here are the question: 1. Why there are only half of my belongings are being transferred to the new room? You either transferred all my belongings to the new room, but not just half of it, it is so scary when you back to your room which it is like a crime scene! 2. Is it normal for a luxury hotel to touch guest's personal belonging without permission of the guest? 3. If the hotel find it a safety issue inside the room, why do they still let the guest go into the room? That kind of put the guest in a dangerous environment that may get injured! 4. Have the hotel ever tried to contact the guest, by phone/email of such incident had happened in the room? or worst case, to stop me to get in to the room, when i passed by front desk before get back to the room? none of it had been done In short, this is not acceptable for any hotel, not talking about Ameron is a luxury brand, the hotel has poor risk management, this is my first time using this brand and I don't think there will be a second chance, terrible experience and even on the checked out date, no one care to ask how was my stay.

The room is clean and the front desk is warm and thoughtful. It is close to the lake, the cathedral and the Church of Our Lady, with convenient transportation, shopping and dining. The only drawback is that for first-time guests, they have to carry their luggage up one flight of stairs. If they want to take the elevator from the 0th floor gate to the 1st floor front desk, they must check in and get a key, which is not very convenient. The price is a bit expensive!

So first: This is a serviced apartment. It is very spacious, has a kitchen (25 francs a day if you use it), a nice saloon and also a washing machine (free). It is also in a good location and everything is clean. The negative side was that in the bathroom there was no ventilation, so after showering it wouldn't smell good and I needed to close the door. I would try another hotel next time, just to try, but I still fully recommend this hotel. It's really near the train station and the tram station!

Stayed for 2D1N. Comfortable and spacious room. One tram down to the hb station. There are a lot of restaurants downstairs so no worries if you wanna settle on your meals nearby. They gave us cute Lindt lady bugs chocolates for our honeymoon trip , really appreciate their gestures! Breakfast was really simple tho. Other than that everything’s fine for this hotel👍🏻

The hotel is RIGHT IN FRONT of the main Central Train station. Behind the hotel is the shopping belt and the old town where you can walk to see the various architectural buildings. The staff there were helpful especially in the early morning getting me a taxi to the airport. Cleaning staff replenishes the toiletries daily without fail. Helvetia Hotel exceeded my expectations, offering a much better experience than suggested by the photos on the booking site. The place is impeccably clean—even the shower screen was nearly spotless. The bed was very comfortable, ensuring a good night’s rest. The bathroom was brightly lit and generous in size, with shampoo, soap and body lotion in different glass bottles. I particularly appreciated the cozy common room near the lobby, where guests enjoy a cup of Nespresso or tea, courtesy of the hotel. The location is convenient, with a large supermarket just a one-minute walk away and at least two cafes within walking distance. However, it’s about a 15-minute walk from the main station, which might be a consideration for some travelers. Overall, it’s a solid choice, and I’d definitely consider staying here again on my next trip to Zurich.

The biggest problem is accessing this studio. The owners always claim, but never send the password for access in advance to the guests. So we ended up stuck with our suitcases in the dark and it was pouring with rain having to call a phone number displayed on the premises door. This was answered eventually and our access was granted. We had to repeat this process to gain access to the inclusive internet and on our checkout to find out where to leave and secure the key. Location is good as its convenient for the tram station which is for No.8 and No.3 trams. These take you to Belleview or Central respectively. The location is peaceful and there is a wonderful Vietnamese restaurant directly opposite the main tram terminus (100meters walk). The room itself has almost everything needed for your stay, but lacks a washing machine/dryer for clothes. It has a large radiator that quickly warms the room and electronic venetian blinds. Kettle, fridge, small cooker and microwave, shower and TV are provided but none of the channels were English speaking (even English movies were re-dubbed into German).

However, we can’t seem to have an option not to have the staff from coming in to clean our room whenever we are out for an activity. We prefer to have more privacy as we do keep some of our less important belongings in the room. Overall, it is a good experience.

Room was clean and surroundings have plenty of food and shops. Supermarket is also a stone’s throw away. We got a nice view of the river. Only thing was we had to wait an hour before we could check in as the room wasn’t ready, but the staff compensated us with late check out the next day. No complaints other than that!

Very conveniently placed near a trem hub station.. a lot of bakery , restaurant , and supermarkets in the area. The room is a bit packed but given that the hotel has been built for a long time ago, but the buildings has been renovated to a nice standard.. The staffs is very helpfull & very accomodating. The room is not big, but the sanitation is OK. It is two or three kilometers away from the old city. It is not far from walking around. The location is excellent, within walking distance to the train station, the lake and the old town. Beautiful appearance. However, the taxi driver only dropped us at the entrance of the alley outside, and it looked like we were going to walk in. In the middle of the night, I fumbled for ten minutes before I found the side facing the river. Although there are not many types of restaurants, they are very exquisite. The service is good. We were still waiting for us to check in at 12:30 in the evening. We were given free water and drinks and could store our luggage. The family suite is ok in size, with a small terrace and extra quilts in the closet, which is very friendly to families with children. The good: (1) Price is decent, located 1 stop away from Zurich HB. Also has Coop and Migros nearby. Some restaurants around the train station but not many choices. (2) Bed and pillows are very comfortable The not so great: (1) No kettle provided, so don’t expect any free coffee / tea in the room, which you will normally expect. You need to get down to the lobby to get hot water which is super inconvenient (2) No fridge in the room, so expect to consume all cold drinks etc unless you want lukewarm drinks (3) No safe in the room Technically, expect a super basic room with just bed, tv and toilet. Not something I expect from a Mercure brand.
