We booked our May 2023 (Sun-Wed) trip to Moab (Arches National Park) in April so I had a hard time finding a reasonable room rate. We wanted to be close to the NP entrance. I read through lots of reviews for establishments in Moab and decided on the Virginian as it had pretty good reviews and nothing to turn us off the place. The day was very dreary when we drove up and my husband wondered if I had booked us at a Bates motel (LOL). The check-in went smoothly, they had one of those Kiosk check-in units. Luckily, I had read all about this new phenomenon so was not surprised. I had booked a disabled room with a accessible shower. There are two buildings and the handicap room was in the back where two handicap parking spaces are located. Although the exterior was well-worn and there were a few weeds growing along the property, we were pleased when we entered the room which was clean, spacious and furnished with art deco type furniture and a hard-wood tile floor. The king size bed was quite comfortable with very supportive pillows. A good size mini-frig, microwave, Keurig dispenser and TV with good reception were all appreciated. The air conditioner was fairly loud so we tended to turn it on high to get the room very cool and then turned it off for the night. The bathroom had plenty of towels for two people, there were the usual provided toiletries. The handicap shower had a new looking shower curtain, standard shower head, hand-held wand, pull-down seat and plenty of safety rails. The water got hot quickly and had lots of pressure. The water at the sink also got hot quickly so be careful! Since there was no shelf for toiletries, I used the end of the cabinet in the bedroom that was close to the bathroom door. There was a tiny little round table in the bedroom area that could have been brought into the bathroom to serve also. Breakfast is not included but the Moab Diner (closed Sundays) is just across the street and opens promptly at 6am for breakfast. This was a life-saver as the park reservation tickets that we were able to acquire were for 7am Monday. At check-out we turned in our keys and requested a printed receipt from the Kiosk agent. There is a printer in the office for this purpose. There are on-site cleaning staff to clean the rooms.

Eating around the hotel is very convenient, there are Thai food, Sichuan food and 24-hour American restaurant. Breakfast can go to the dinner opposite the hotel, the amount is super large. Pay special attention to the power switch, live, and prevent electric shock. There is a lot of hot water in the shower.

This motel is right off the middle of town so you can walk to a number of restaurants, beer pubs, stores, tour companies. It has a big parking lot and nice swimming pool. Special appreciation to LITZI at the front desk. She went out of her way to fix a minor problem that made our stay much easier. This front desk staff cares about their customers experiences! Large property with a cool breakfast space that has outdoor deck areas overlooking town. All the hot and good breakfast stuff included. A pancake machine instead of waffle maker here. Extra clean rooms with space, comfy beds with fluffy linen, nice individual little reading lights in the headboard, Micro, and mini freg. Nice private pool area with large kidney shaped hot tub. Excellent location for walking to shops, good food close, and a fun town vibe here. Good parking included and I noticed electric charging stations.

Moab is pretty expensive, which I guess is what I thought a $170/night ageing motel at the edge of town was a good idea. There were certainly some odd features to the place. Nobody is EVER in the office--the manager (owner?) texts you instructions on getting into your room. On the plus side, if you text him with any problems (like a poorly flushing toilet) he responds promptly. I also had to ask him for the wifi password, which was on a plaque on the wall over the TV, not where I would usually think of looking. A coffee maker was supplied, but with the wrong shape of coffee inserts provided so the coffee didn't brew very well. Plus no cardboard cups for coffee were provided--there are ceramic coffee cups hanging on the wall with a sign saying they are $5.00. So I used one, washed, it, and put it back. No plastic cups in the bathroom to help with teeth brush either, I used my hiking water bottle. On the plus side, my room (on the back side of the motel) was very quiet--not only was there no traffic noise but I didn't hear the other guests either. But strange sounds came from beyond the bathroom--perhaps a noisy heating system?

This hotel is nice, we were just passing through Moab for 1 night. The rooms are good, clean, and beds feel comfortable. But our room (2 queen beds) was a bit on the small side, so although I’d recommend this hotel to most travelers, I’d think twice if you have a bunch of hiking gear. Also the showers could be bigger too and the decoration is drab. But staff is very courteous & helpful. The location is convenient, a straight shot, short drive into the town center. There’s no gym but the pool and hot tub are good enough

Not a horrible hotel but could be soooo much better just on so many little things. Okay first room was spacious and we liked it but we had to move because air conditioner did not work. and to be honest I think they knew but were hoping we would not notice. But they moved us very easy no issues. Room had comfortable beds and is very convient and close to Arches. Breakfast is fair not great not bad. However here are the complaints. Microwave, a light on the wall, and coffee maker were all plugged into the same outlet that did not seem to work. We did not need to use any of these things (we missed the light mostly) but what was the issue here?!! The television worked but had snow and static that was reminiscent of televisions in the 1970s. Seriously it looked like a televison that was using rabbit ears our an outside attenna. There were a couple of other things that I do not remember right now that could be updated or made more comfortable that would have cost minimal, like adding an extra towel rack or some hooks in the bathroom. I mean overall it was comfortable and we were really only there to sleep but still take some pride and fix the little things..

This stay was magical. We had such a wonderful stay at the Casitas. It was absolutely perfect for our little family. We were able to cook dinner and bake cookies in our kitchen while playing games, watching movies and just relaxing. It was so comfortable in the casitas that we almost failed to make it into the national parks, our main purpose for visiting Moab. The staff was super kind and accommodating and made our stay extra special. Truly, we made an excellent memory with our family and were so glad we picked the Casitas at the Hoodoo Moab for our lodging. I would 100% go back and recommend anyone staying in Moab to stay at the casitas. A special shout out to Lisa Knight, General Manager who runs a wonderful hotel. We can tell that all the details are being looked at and the staff are all incredibly trained.

Agree with the last reviewer. Parking lot of RVs. Got to room, bathroom not cleaned, other people’s hair in shower. Faucet broken in bathroom. Bathroom barn door isn’t level so door doesn’t stay closed. A/C loud. No bedside lamp. Fragrance diffusers so strong they make you nauseous. Tiny room with bed and basically no where to walk or place luggage. Doors so loud that you wake up every time a neighbor comes or goes. Biggest pet peeve - no pillow cases on two of four bed pillows. Had to ask for room to be serviced next morning which I realize is becoming more of a norm but still missing pillowcases and random hair in shower after being serviced. I realize this isn’t a luxury hotel and don’t have high expectations but this was rough. Nicest thing I can say is that the staff was polite. The breakfast area bright and well attended.

I am an IHG diamond member meaning I stay here and at other holiday inn a lot...over 1000 nights. So I know how things should and should not be. THIS MOAB HOLIDAY INN IS SCRAPING THE BOTTOM OF THE BARREL with its employees and service, safety. Food and clenlieness. The checked in and Dominic could not find my reservation even though I made it online through IHG site and provided him the confirmation number.. After some 15 minutes he finally found my reservation and gave me keys to room 350.. With then walked across the hotel with our luggage on the start luggage only to try our keys multiple times and they would not work. When we returned to the front desk and came back with fresh keys only to find they still didn't work.. As I'm rattling the door and playing with the lock till my surprise the door opened With a very very upset man wondering why we were trying to break into his room.. 60 minutes later they they had us in our room. 3 times their key system failed and we would have to go back yet again for new keys. Breakfast was out of food and we didn't have time to wait for more.. I asked for a 2 o'clock diamond elite late the elite light check out which they said they could not do because they were at full capacity tomorrow. This is a lie because I went on as if I were booking 30 rooms and it showed them all available. Not once did Dominic. There were no towels in the pool area yeah and the carpet throughout the hotel is all ripped up and frayed afraid. Last time we came here in the Spring the Spring the pools were ice cold and they did not turn on their fire feathere are fire features. Obviously this hotel this hotel needs new management and a refresh. More than anything that needs management management that will train employees or please or hold them accountable I tried to reach general manager throughout my stay but they said she was not in. There are a lot of other new and nice hotels we have nice hotels here in Moab ,I suggest you check them out for a better experience for experience. The poor person who was asleep in room 350 had us wake him up when we were given his room...then a little later at 1040:pm had the front desk call him playing 20 questions of who are you. Dever felt with cor clueless front desk help with little desire or knowledge to solve a problem. My family waited in the hall and then down to the lobby for the 60 minutes it took them to check me in. Aggrivating

Overall, the hotel makes a very nice and clean impression. However, there are clear weaknesses in the commercial processing. I booked and paid for the room via your platform. After completing the booking, I received an email asking me to check in online. As part of the check-in process, I provided my credit card details. Immediately after the online check-in, my credit card was charged with an amount of approx. 180.00 €. This procedure initially seemed unusual to me, as the room had already been paid for and the hotel already knew my card details. After checking in at the hotel, a further booking of €162.27 was charged to my card. I informed the hotel reception about this and they assured me that these two reserved amounts would be released after check-out. The first reserved amount was released a few days after check-out, but the second was not. On August 26, 2024, my card was debited with €80.93 and on the same day €80.43 was credited again. The result is that my card is still charged today, eleven days after check out, with a reservation of approximately $180.00. I am surprised about such a behavior and have asked the hotel to explain the reasons for the charges on my card. I have already complained to Wyndham and asked the hotel to ensure that the amount -still reserved on my card- is now quickly released.

Excellent location for Moab. Room was very large and well laid out. Hotel is in nice condition and fairly updated, but needs a little better cleaning. Shower tracks and corners needed bleaching and better cleaning. Otherwise, room was very nice and clean. Easy parking but limited. As we all know , accommodations in Moab are ridiculously priced , and most people travel here for outdoors adventure. Well, if you love the outdoors and are not afraid of a few bruises and scrapes , you probably are also okay without luxuries like 20 servants and a heated pool in your room. Motel 6 was great to stay at with very reasonable prices , and more than enough amenities for a late 30s couple here for hiking adventures. And while the price was fair, what makes this hotel a 5 circle rating is the STAFF! PAMELA at the front desk absolutely went above and beyond to provide alternate rooms away from noisy guests in the next room and was very friendly and worked on making sure we get the best price the hotel could do at the time ! I hope management appreciates how much she does for their business! Again: some people call this hotel “ bare bones” but seriously: just for a place to sleep? It has everything , and the owners are not claiming it’s the HILTON .

We spent 5 days here for our off roading with our Jeep and visits to Arches , Canyonlands NP and Dead Horse State park. Every front desk person was friendly, helpful and informative, shout out to Marcos, Vinny, the 2 younger gals with dinner suggestions and the breakfast attendants! Nice sized room, good toiletries, bed was a bit uncomfortable and they were able to rectify that without us having to move. We filled out a slip for necessities needed and hung on our door by 9 am, worked out well and they will make up room if requested. 2 washers and dryers that run at $2.50 each, I bought a roll of quarters from Vinny, started laundry at 6:30 AM because evenings were usually occupied. Coffee is available all day in the atrium which was much appreciated especially after coming back in around 3-4 in the afternoon and needing a pick me up. Lemon water was also available. Toiletries were squeeze bottles in the shower and lotion by the sink, very dry out there so I was glad to have the lotion as I would have run out of mine! Fridge, no freezer, microwave, nice sofa with chaise lounger in our king room. Plenty of room to spread out in, did walk about 6-10 blocks at night for dinner, as this hotel is on the main drag but not right downtown. Less than 10 minutes to Arches entry. Would stay again.

Upon our arrival, we were asked by the lady named Jenna in the front desk if it was ok to switch from King bed room to two-queen bed room. We responded that we prefer to have the king bed room that one we had reserved. She gave us room number 212, but we got to the room and tried the key, we noticed it was occupied and the guy in the room wasn’t happy we disturbed him. We came back to the front desk and told her that room 212 was occupied, she then gave us room number 330, and never said she was sorry for the mistake or anything like that at all. As soon as we opened room number 330, we realized it was 2-queen-bed room! I called the front desk and she said there wasn’t any king-bed room available. She knew we had reserved a king-bed, but she didn’t say she was giving us a 2-queen-bed when she gave us room 330. Very unprofessional and unpleasant experience with the front desk lady. Hope she gets the training she needs to improve.
