Firstly, let me clarify that there are two locations associated with Colonel’s Retreat. We initially booked at Colonel’s Retreat 2, but it seems that Uber and Google Maps primarily recognize the original Colonel’s Retreat (1) located at D418. Unfortunately, we weren’t aware that these two places were over a mile apart when we booked an Uber from the airport. Upon reaching the original D418 location, we were redirected to the D264 address. Colonel’s Retreat 2 is nestled in Defence Colony, an affluent neighborhood in New Delhi. It’s important to note that this establishment operates as a homestay, lacking typical hotel amenities. The accommodations are basic, offering essential facilities. However, the pricing doesn’t quite align with our expectations given the simplicity. On the bright side, the rooms include breakfast and dinner (available for an additional charge). The staff members are friendly and attentive, ensuring a pleasant stay. Breakfast is served in the adjacent cafe area, where you’ll find delightful treats like banana bread and excellent tea. Naveen, the facility manager, goes above and beyond to assist with local travel arrangements, taxis, and any other needs you might have. In summary, Colonel’s Retreat 2 provides a cozy nook in Defence Colony, offering a unique experience for your stay in Delhi. While it lacks frills, the warm hospitality and tasty banana bread make up for it! 🍌

Everything about this place suited us perfectly. It just looks like a regular residential house from the outside but it has been carefully adapted to offer a lounge and bedrooms on each of the three floors. The staff are so helpful, they will fix you up with transport or whatever you need and they take a pride in giving a really good service. The food is very nice too. The area itself is perfect. Quiet leafy streets and a ten minute walk to a small village-type area around a square where there are good shops and restaurants. (Also an electrical shop where two lovely gents will sort your Indian Sim card if you need one. It's quite a procedure but they take care of it all if you say you are staying at Colonel's Retreat). It was too hot to spend much time outside when we were in Delhi but we were happy to relax in this homely place. Very highly recommended.

I went to Delhi for a trip and then to the Czech Republic embassy, stayed at this hotel for a few nights. The room and bathroom are worth the price. The double room is about 1260 Indian rupees. The front desk wears knitting is a good sales and the people are very nice. He was not there when I checked out. The man in the casual suit tried to cheat me with 15 Indian rupees. Cheating is cheating, it doesn't matter how much money. Overall a good hotel.

Basically, we go to the conference. We went to this hotel without booking the next Lila Hotel. It ’s not good to bring children. It is very remote. It's not convenient to go to the attractions. I arranged my son's first birthday party at JRD Exotica, must say I was blown away by the overall experience. Decor was superb, every single corner presented the theme we decided. The most impressive part was food - every item prepared was superbly tasty and authentic, and I found my guests praising while eating. Mr. Pranab Sarkar & his staffs were extremely supportive and helped us from ideation till the last minute of party, at their best. We had the best experience staying here! All of the staff members were super friendly and courteous. The room itself was big, stylish, clean and comfortable. The neighborhood is very vibrant and hip, and great for artsy folks. The Fika cafe/restaurant/bar has delicious offerings. The free breakfast was yummy and fresh. The hotel does its best to accommodate its guests with bags and luggages by arranging handlers, tuk-tuks and drivers if you ask in advance, and for a fee. We did not have any issues with our bags and late arrival as we arranged with the hotel for airport pick-up. The best part of our stay was how they made us feel a part of their community. They happened to be hosting a pop-up artisan/makers event one of the nights we were there and it was one of the most socially connective, generative, and inclusive experiences we ever had. The event organized by Amit Pandey, the super kind and fun general ***ager brought together diverse groups of people making all of us a truly interconnected world. If you're there during the winter season, do ask for heaters and blankets. Overall experience was good. I liked the hollow design of the hotel. The breakfast was great with range of choices and everything was delicious. I liked the choices of European style breakfast. It has a lot of guests and had to wait to check-in. There was no hand towel, shower floor towel or smaller towels, only bath towel. It was little disappointing. I would love to have all the steel and shower glasses clean, but it wasn't. Hope they will focus more on the deep cleaning. Overall i would recommend.

To my pleasant surprise, Chef Sudheer Kumar approached me, eager to enhance my breakfast experience at JW Marriott. I shared with him that it was my Ekadashi fasting day and that I was only allowed to eat dishes prepared with quinoa. I then inquired if he could prepare 'Quinoa Upma' for me, a meal incorporating various vegetables, but devoid of any grains. Undeterred by my request, he assured me he would try to accommodate my dietary restriction and left to prepare my meal. Within ten minutes, he returned with a bowl of Quinoa Upma exuding a delightful aroma. The flavor was simply fabulous, far surpassing my expectations. I truly believe it was Lord Krishna's mercy ***ifesting through Chef Sudheer Kumar that made my day so special. This delightful experience was made possible by the dedicated service of Chef Sudheer Kumar and the attentive team at JW Marriott Hotel, Aerocity. For the past one and a half years, I've been staying at this hotel whenever I visit Delhi, India, and each stay has been absolutely wonderful. Interestingly, I hail from Boston and, while I appreciate the services provided by the JW Marriott establishments in the United States, I believe the uniquely personalized service I received here today is unparalleled.
