This is a no frills, no thrills motel. Right in the heart of downtown ocean city , 2 minute walk across the street to the boardwalk. Our motel room was clean, bed bug protectors on mattresses, fresh coat of paint on the walls in the room. Paint on exterior doors was chipping significantly. Microwave was not cleaned thoroughly & old. Refrigerator was clean inside. There is a night stand in the middle of the 2 beds, but no lamp . Accessibility to outlets in the room we had was limited to 2 outlets. Bathroom is dated, old tile , wind open window, no exhaust fan. Water pressure was good In the sink. But no sink strainer , so if you dropped something over the sink that is small enough to go down the drain (then you can just say “bye”) because the drain was wide opened. Shower was interesting. If anyone has leg issues stepping up, then they’d never make it in this shower because it is not handicap accessible. You have to setup to get in the shower and then the shower sort of slopes inwards. Water pressure was fine, it was the fluctuation of water temperature that STUNK. It was either TOO hot or TOO cold. Absolutely NO IN BETWEEN!!!! Outside of the rooms , there were chairs to sit and enjoy the sights. I don’t care for the fact that smoking people were put next to non-smoking people. & there was no option to state that @ time of booking. There is not any garbage cans on the floors outside the rooms, only 1 HUGE trash can on the street level. Wish they had trash cans scattered around the property. Pool was SMALL, pool sitting area is small. They need more chairs in the pool area. Pool was cloudy. You can smell the chlorine but once you were in the pool you couldn’t see anymore then a foot down. VERY CLOUDY. Housekeeping guy was nice. Anytime we needed towels or other room items he would just put the items in a bag and on our door. Noise in this area is “OK”. Across the street is a Indian food place that you walk up and order food and then you can sit in chairs on the side of the building to eat your food. (No Tables) It was VERY BUSY during the late night hours. The amount of firetrucks, ambulances, and police cars was insane in this area of ocean city. It felt like being in the middle of manhattan every day and night. So, if your looking for a motel in the downtown area, near everything and all the action , then this is the place . There are other hotels right near this motel as well. Overall hotel was clean, affordable, but just in the middle of all the action. Parking stinks as well. You literally are backing up into the middle of the road, and when traffic was backed up , you would not be able to get out. There was parking in the back of the building, don’t know what that was like. Parking in the “limited” front spots is tight. So if your a bigger person then your going to want to get a “end” spot to give your self a little more room to get in/out of your vehicle.

The service was great! The hotel was well maintained-inside and outside. Our room was super clean and comfortable and we had sufficient washcloths & towels and the water was nice and hot! The view from the balcony was a lovely addition. I enjoyed the complimentary tea and coffee too. My husband and I have already decided that will stay stay there on our next visit.

Only the second time that I have been compelled to leave a review on Trip Advisor. From the moment we were allowed to check in Anna at the front desk recognized the size of my truck and went above and beyond to ask an employee to move their vehicle and secured a space to accommodate easy in/out for my truck and family. What started as an uncomfortable 1st night sleep due to a bad mattress, was quickly rectified by Anna and the maintenance staff early Saturday morning. Anna worked with maintenance and housekeeping to replace the mattress that had an entire side of bad springs with a new mattress and fresh linens, even going above and beyond the maintenance staff recognized the difference in the two mattresses and replaced both. Beyond satisfied with the service and quick action. As a side note, the room was clean and fresh, but I don't believe that housekeeping would have noticed the bad mattress and perhaps prior occupants never raised the issue to the front desk, leaving the issue for follow-on hotel guests. I live by the motto of leaving something better than found and besides ensuring a comfortable stay for myself, but hopefully a more pleasant staff for hotel visitors for room 509 into the future! Thank you again for being a major part of the fun Country Calling Weekend!

This hotel is impeccable and the NICEST that I have ever stayed at! Very clean and the amenities of the room are also impeccable! I was on the 14th floor and even though the elevator took a bit to get up or down, (only drawback), I did take the stairs once but only to the 6th floor! Then I took the elevator the rest of the way up! This really was an incredible experience, all positive! Stay here, you won't be sorry!

Excellent beachfront hotel. My family visits Ocean City every year and normally stays on the northern side of town. We decided to take a chance on a hotel off of the boardwalk and we are so glad we did. This will be our go too place for future Ocean City visits. The staff was great! A special thanks to NeKeah, Danielle and Abbigail, they were awesome and made our stay terrific. They greeted me every day by name and were there to assist us whenever needed.

This is our go to hotel in OC, clean and directly on the beach. The hotel is safe and there is plenty of parking. Pool bar and food was good with a nice staff. There is also a Starbucks coffee shop in the lobby which was handy. Hotel is on the expensive side but it delivers a good experience.

Everything was great! ”Peaches” was our check in girl and she was so sweet and kind. Above and beyond welcoming. The room was clean and comfortable except the beds are a little bit firm. Staff were knowledgable with every question we asked throughout our stay. The walk to the beach is quicker then it takes the red light to change. On check out day we asked if it would be ok if we left the car in the parking lot and hang out at the pool for a few hours before heading home, and they were perfectly cool with that. the roof top pool is so nice with a bar and constant breeze. We reserve a ”Bay front” room, but we unexpectedly had a really nice view of the bay from our room. These are the reasons I've been coming back the Princess Bayside for years.

I love the Hilton Garden Inn at the Virginia Beach Ocean Front. All the staff is so nice and very friendly. Ronnie the valet is super nice. He always has a smile on his face and is super-fast at getting your car. The only problem I had for the last couple of years is that the vents in the rooms are not cleaned. I mean never. They are filthy. I would get another hotel, but I would not have the view like at the Hilton. Every morning, we watch the sun rise and also see the dolphins swim by. If I had a side view of the ocean, I would be very upset. I hope this year the housekeeping staff cleans those vents, in the bathroom also. I hope when I return in the summer of 2025 I don't have to take my dust rag and charge the Hilton for cleaning the room.

It was great to be able to close off our room from the kids for privacy, but there is only 1 thermostat and I pretty much froze out my kids because I like to sleep cold. Positives: Room comfort, cleanliness, able to close off to separate rooms, full kitchen, large balcony, location, elevators numerous and working fast, double sinks in the bathroom Negatives: Single thermostat doesn't allow for different sleeping temperatures in a room that can be closed off into 2 different areas, closing the kids pool so early in the day on hot August days makes no sense (I am sure it is a lifeguard issue) and the other pool is not available late either and doesn't have the hot tub (over at the kiddie pool instead), the adult meals that are part of the meal package are stupid small and limited items, high jacuzzi tub threshold makes it difficult for seniors to get into the shower. I don't need a handicap accessible room, but it was hard getting in and out of the shower. Wifi can't handle the load during peak hours

My wife had written a poor review on this site but now it is no longer available. They got our reservation mixed up and gave us a third-floor room on the street side. I am disabled and cannot walk up the steps with luggage. The carpet in the hallway was gross and the room wasn't cleaned well. When Rosemary was told about this, she said that we were told there were not first floor canal views available. We never talked to anyone about our reservation, and we were told by Karen, who was rude, when we called to inquire about the motel that it was the change of shift, and we have to do everything online and she hung up on us. My wife told Rosemary this before we actually checked in! I can back and told her without an elevator, we couldn't stay. She told me that there wasn't anything that she could do. She did check to see if other rooms were available on the first, and they were not as she said everyone was already in their rooms. My wife told her we couldn't stay and she said there was nothing that we could do. She was very upset and so we had to leave. She never offered to credit our account or to provide us with a credit for another time. She called my wife this morning and acted like she didn't what was going on? I am now writing another review to make sure that anyone who stays here knows about the situation and just how unprofessional they are.

If u travel with ur fur kiddo, this is the hotel u want to stay. Very pet friendly! In summer peak time, dogs are not allowed to be on the ocean city beach, so I used to take my dog to Assateague national park for my dog to have some fun on the beach. But I don't need to go all the way to Assateague anymore. Bed was very plush(I like firm bed), but it was so comfortable! Complimentary hot coffee was good enough to save my time to drive looking for coffeeshop outside of hotel. It was the best hotel experience with my furkid ever!

Have enjoyed staying at Carousel condos for many years. Some units need updating(!) & had a 1st time ever reservation glitch(!) - Only reasons not 5 stars. Other than that, always a very enjoyable stay. Great amenities, especially the beach bar. This year was even better with DJ Nigel. He plays great music for ALL ages (5 to 93 one night!!) and interacted with everyone in a genuine and personable way. We don't travel to nightlife spots much anymore. Nigel brought the fun right to us!!! Five stars for Nigel!

Place is clean,view to the ocean is beautiful.It is literally steps to the ocean. Do not miss sunrise from hotel balcony -ocean view on the top floor. Staff very responsive to our needs. If you plan to eat at Jack pancake for breakfast, be there before 9 am .The place will fill up quickly. It is convenient to everywhere both walking and driving distances. Boardwalk is not too crowded on this location because there is also Howard Johnson towards the middle of the ***** where the crowd and businesses are. Our stay was wonderful and will definitely book here.

Booked a two bed family room on the top floor for this trip. The fridge in the room was switched off when we arrived, (presumably to save electricity/ money?) and we were told it was working but could take up to 4 hours to get to a reasonably cold temperature. Why wasn't it switched on by staff prior to our arrival? The bed sheets did have a couple of little stains but the bed was swiftly remade when we asked for it. The safe in the room for your valuable is not included in the price and will be charged for its use on a daily basis. We decided not to use it at all because of this. The breakfast included in the price was very basic and the breakfast area was tiny. Most people took their food back to their room. The room itself was basic but acceptable for our use and the balcony facing the beach was ideal. we didn't like the fact that privacy was limited from the room next door. Indoor and outdoor pools both seemed adequate and clean enough although there could have been more pool towels available at the indoor site. The hotel staff were pleasant, approachable and responsive to our requests and seemed to be content at work. The hotel is in a transition period, having just been bought over and renamed, but the owners/ management need to do better and put more money and time into this property. I hope to see improvements in the coming time, or the quality inn will be just a name and not a claim. Despite anything else, we did enjoy our stay here and I would recommend it, and hope to read the reviews of others who have stayed there this year.

We literally had the best time. We LOVE staying at Princess Royale and have been for years. The staff is very outgoing, everyone always says hello, and the hotel front desk staff was so helpful! We LOVE the pool, we didn’t get in this time, but we enjoyed sitting around and relaxing. Always super clean. We stayed in a newly renovated room this time as well and it was so nice, the new look is fantastic. We also love the location since it’s pretty central to uptown and downtown. I’m always raving about here to my friends, best place to stay in Ocean City! Royale Roasters is also fantastic, nice to be able to grab coffee without leaving and having to drive anywhere. Thank you again for an amazing stay- we are looking forward to coming back this winter for another stay-cation. Our daughter loves it here! Pictures are posted with this review- I believe it’s the 2 bedroom Ocean Front Suite with corner balcony— beautiful 😍 and so spacious!

I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights with my wife and 2 kids, 11 and 12. I've never in my life written a google review because I myself own a business and I always feel like a one-time experience shoudnt define a review and every business deserves a second chance but this hotel.. let me tell you… does NOT deserve a second chance. The location is great. Can't disagree. It's prime, BUT so are many others for very similar prices. The room and hotel. Yes the outside porch is charming. Yes the reception hall is cozy but that's not where you spend the majority of your time. Which brings me to the rooms. They’re uncomfortably small. Do not trust the pictures on their website. The beds are tiny, the room is tiny, the bathroom is tiny. All of it felt very claustrophobic. There's no counter space for anything!! We had planned to prep some sandwiches for the beach! Have a little breakfast in the room (cereal, bagels, etc).We ended up spending on restaurants because we just didn't have the space to doSO! 3. Cleanliness. The carpet is beyond nasty, in the hallways as well as in the bedrooms. The room is not well maintained. the furniture is chipped and rusty, the window sills are filthy, etc. I can go on and on. All in all, we made it through the 5 days but we strongly advise you NOT to stay at this hotel. My wife and I tried to think of who may be OK with these standards. Younger crowds? Lower budget? Single or a young couple? But honestly we cant find a fit for anyone. Its plain horrible. Stay away.

Our 2 king bed room on the fourth floor was immaculate. The beds were very comfortable, the room was large, simply and adequately furnished with a comfortable side chair, desk and desk chair, big screen TV, lots of drawer storage and very nice balcony overlooking the pickle ball courts. Our housekeeper, Alice, did a wonderful job making sure our room was spotless. The Sea Bay Cafe associated with the hotel was delightful and the restaurant manager, Miguel was outstanding.

I actually called to make my reservation because I wanted to be sure that I was getting an oceanfront room. She had every opportunity to let me know that this was a room in a little corner where the hotel meets Grottos. I would’ve tuned it down. It is a dirty, greedy trick to put people paying $300 in that room! You can’t sit out on those chairs because it’ll be right there with all the Grotto people staring at you. It was horrible. They never told me that it was a handicap accessible room. I would’ve turned it down. That room should definitely never cost the same as any other room in that hotel. There should be a discount on that room. There was no chair or table in that room and the beds were low down to the floor. There was even sand in the bed! It was horrible! The only view from that room was a view of grotto chairs. Of course when asked to be moved, they said no we are full. I doubt they were full. After telling desk person at checkout, she said nothing. It was like telling a wall. For the worst room in the hotel, we should’ve received a discount!

Journey the front desk clerk is exceptional. She is professional, friendly and knows how to properly treat customers. Hotel could be updated, fresh paint, a/c was falling apart in room, I had to Pop it back in place, curtains were dirty, toilet seat should had been replaced , loose, and chipped on seat.Hot Breakfast is amazing and dining area is clean. Our family enjoyed our stay because the hotel was quiet, we slept well in comfortable beds and definitely because Journey went out of her way to keep customers pleased. This is a very good option if you want a clean hotel at a reasonable cost. However, the walls are a bit thin and there was a regional cheer leading as well as youth soccer tournaments in town the weekend we were there and kids were running up and down the halls. Unfortunately they are still not providing housekeeping services. Apparently the virus is pretty smart and knows when someone is gone for the day and then it will attack the housekeeping staff but if the folks have checked out than it is safe to enter. In other words it is better to see dirty linens lining the hallways than to be picked up or to either hire staff or give them haz mat suits to make a bed and change towels. They will say it is safety but I say it is the corporation trying to recap losses from 2020. GET BACK to NORMAL and provide services for the money we pay you!!!!!

Only the second time that I have been compelled to leave a review on Trip Advisor. From the moment we were allowed to check in Anna at the front desk recognized the size of my truck and went above and beyond to ask an employee to move their vehicle and secured a space to accommodate easy in/out for my truck and family. What started as an uncomfortable 1st night sleep due to a bad mattress, was quickly rectified by Anna and the maintenance staff early Saturday morning. Anna worked with maintenance and housekeeping to replace the mattress that had an entire side of bad springs with a new mattress and fresh linens, even going above and beyond the maintenance staff recognized the difference in the two mattresses and replaced both. Beyond satisfied with the service and quick action. As a side note, the room was clean and fresh, but I don't believe that housekeeping would have noticed the bad mattress and perhaps prior occupants never raised the issue to the front desk, leaving the issue for follow-on hotel guests. I live by the motto of leaving something better than found and besides ensuring a comfortable stay for myself, but hopefully a more pleasant staff for hotel visitors for room 509 into the future! Thank you again for being a major part of the fun Country Calling Weekend!

When you book a hotel room in Ocean City between Memorial Day and Labor Day, you can count on two things: Astronomical rates and a guest experience below what you’d expect elsewhere for those prices. The Doubletree has both. But if you accept the reality that this is the new normal for all OC hotels during the busy season, you could certainly do worse than the Doubletree. The good: The rooms and common areas are clean and generally well-maintained. This isn’t an easy accomplishment with the combination of sand, salt air, and a seasonal housekeeping staff. The beachfront location is hard to beat. There are also nice pools with plenty of chairs as well as a spacious picnic area. The staff is friendly and helpful. Unlike a lot of the newer hotels, the walls are not paper-thin and there are no connecting rooms. It’s not loud. Needs Improvement: The room’s thermostats are locked at 68 degrees and the AC units are very loud, turning off and on throughout the night. With the high humidity of ocean air, the system is not up to the job. (For us, this was the one dealbreaker that would keep us from returning. Your tolerance for it may be higher). Housekeeping is hit or miss: One of our days they came, one day they just forgot. Service at the restaurant is slow and inattentive. Some of the electrical outlets in our room did not work. The property looks dated, and several minor things need maintenance. Bottom Line: If you want to pay dearly for a beachfront hotel in peak season, the Doubletree is a decent choice. It’s family-friendly, clean, and the location is hard to beat. Don’t expect the experience you’d get at an urban Hilton for the same premium rates, and you won’t be disappointed.

Nice mid-town location. In house restaurant was super convenient. We stayed in the winter and used the indoor pool and game room. All the staff we encountered were super nice and gave the kids hot chocolate, which I thought was sweet. Older hotel which shows in the hallways, but the room interior has some updates and seems super clean overall. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need! For the price it was perfect! Will absolutely stay again!

This was a great hotel to stay at for a week while our daughter’s softball team played in a tournament. The room was spacious and comfortable. The pool is outside right on the water. The fitness center is up on the 7th floor so you work out while looking out over the water. But mostly I want to compliment the staff. Everyone I talked to was nice and helpful. And then after I checked out and was on my way to the airport I realized that I had left several items in my room including my wedding ring. I messaged the hotel in the chat function on the app and explained the situation. They could not have been nicer. They went right away to the room and found the items and held them at the desk until a friend could pick them up. Thank you to the wonderful staff!

We were in room 335. We had almost zero water pressure in the shower and the shower squealed like a hot tea kettle the entire time we were using it. The front right burner on the stove didn’t work and the bottom element on the oven also did not work. Maintenance came and looked at it. He was very nice but said they don’t have any replacements. He suggested just using it on the broil setting. Due to this we lost money on some of the groceries that we bought and couldn’t cook. There were some stains on the carpet. Our room was very noisy due to being right near some sort of ventilation system. We got groceries delivered and the delivery service was upset because there was only outdoor access to our side of the hotel with no elevator. Saunas were not open. One of the hot tubs was barely warmer than room temperature our entire stay. The other one was nice. One of the staff members was rude to my teenaged daughter and her friend when they got locked out and needed another key. Location was very nice. All of the other staff were nice. Slushees at the bar we’re good!

Being team mom of an 11u boys travel baseball Team, I was put in charge to find us lodging in Ocean City, MD in July! That's a task in itself. I reached out to several hotels to try to get a decent group rate. The Comfort Inn Gold Coast was the best rate by far. Location is great so figured we would give it a shot! I worked with Meghan Campbell from start to finish. She kept in touch with me when needed and worked with me on adding/removing rooms/dates as well as the payment and rooming list dates. She was absolutely wonderful to work with and we will be back. All families had a wonderful time! The hotel is clean and very accommodating for a travel baseball team/family. It was also perfectly located for where our tournament was held which was Northside Park! Public beach access was just across the street, which made us easy for the families to enjoy their time. Highly recommend this hotel as well as Meghan for group reservations. We will be back next year!!
