Good location and customer service. The entrance to the building was very secure. The heating was on all the time so for those who may not like warmer temperature in the hotel may struggle but the fan was also provided. Some pealed off wallpaper of the walls, permanent streaks on the bathroom mirror and burnt mark on the bathtub. Overall - good, thank you!

Judging from the other reviews it seams like this is a hotel of two halves. The nice half, and the not-so-nice half. Unfortunately I paid £120 to stay in the not-so-nice half for one night - the 'Studio Suite' (sounds nice doesn't it? - it's not so great). The room looked nothing like the pics in my opinion (see attached) which gives a luxury vibe. In reality, its a basic, budget room sitting on the 1st floor, so street noise and no aircon meant the windows were closed and the room was hot. To be fair, it was clean enough, and the hotel manager and receptionist did their best to help but, as the hotel was full, I couldn't move rooms. Given the price and the expectations from the pictures/ website I was really disappointed with the reality (See pics attached to this review).

Location, location and location! The location of the hotel is excellent – just a 30-second walk from Piccadilly Gardens, which is an easy walking distance from Piccadilly Station as well as Victori Station. The hotel is situated just in the CENTRE of the centre of Manchester. The interior of the hotel’s public areas is also very gorgeous, and a twin room I stayed was spacious and comfortable. However, the building itself seems quite old and the windows are not double-glazed. Therefore, I tend to think that it would be rather cold in the room in winter. It would be ideal if the breakfast started at 7:00am, instead of 7:30am on weekdays. I actually had to give up full English breakfast, unfortunately, because I had to catch a train just after 8:00am. For guests who stay in the hotel on a business trip, having breakfast at 7:00am would be nice, as it gives them plenty of time in the morning before going to work.

If you like beer and rooms that are a bit quirky then this is the hotel for you. You have to pay extra for the beers in room (though you get a welcome drink on arrival) and we went for some shower beers. The room was comfy with a couple of chairs, a big desk and had a guitar and a record player and it was well equipped (you get bathrobes) Staff were friendly and you could get room service hot dogs 24 hours which is ideal after a few beers. You get free sweets and a free curly wurly in your room. You can also get packages where evening meal is included: I didn’t realised when we booked through *********** we had this but that’s a nice touch too! A couple of negatives: we slept well, bed was comfy and the room was generally quiet but workmen started digging up the road outside around 8am which we could hear which wasn’t ideal. Not the hotels fault but maybe ask for a quiet room. Though the room was comfortable it was a bit industrial like we were in old office space and the bathroom was just a fenced off bit of the room with frosted glass (though the bathroom was nice) so if you’re not a fan of the kind of industrial vibe then this might not be for you. There’s a massive mini bar all laid out which isn’t included and would be very tempting to raid a rack up a massive bill. There was a couple of mix ups during our stay (room service breakfast order we didn’t get and adding items onto our bill which we hadn’t bought). However, these were rectified quickly and received a free (delicious) breakfast for the mistake. Overall: I’d definitely stay again as a bit of a treat as even with the small issues it was a nice place to stay.

We have always preferred to stay in a aparthotel especially when travelling around Europe, but up to recently its not been so easy to find them to such a good standard in the UK. The facilities at Cove are excellent and the room was spotless - I assume its recently been renovated as everything looks new. We were only staying for one night for a concert in the city so didn't use all the facilities but there was a fully kitted out kitchen with fridge with small freezer section, hob, oven, microwave, small dishwasher and kettle and I was pleased to see clean cloths and washing liquid so we were able to easily clean the few items we used without having to use the d/w. There was even a washing machine ! For anyone wanting to stay a few nights this would be ideal as everything you could need is there. The bathroom was spacious and had a bath and shower over and a huge mirror with plenty of place to put toiletries. The separate bedroom was really comfortable and had its own TV. I was really pleased to see a room fan in there also - as the tram tracks are jsut across the road so by running this during the night it blocked out any traffic noise which otherwise could have been heard. The room was pretty warm so its probably necessary and because of this we had a really nice uninterrupted sleep - which is not so easy to find in a city centre. The lounge and dining area again very well laid out and would still have been comfortable for 4 people even if the sofa bed was being used. The reception staff were all so friendly and helpful - I asked if they would mind filling the ice cube tray so we had ice for when we returned (we arrived much earlier than check in time so left our case and went for lunch) and this was waiting for us when we returned. This is what makes the difference - and is why we will always stay here now next time we have an event to go to. We went by train which is why I wanted somewhere near the station - but the hotel does have its own underground parking spaces which need to be booked and there is also a large open carpark right opposite the hotel which always seemed to have spaces available at £15 for 24 hours which for the city centre is excellent - so will probably drive next time. And a really nice touch is having a drinks machine in reception where you can either bring your own mugs from the room and make a hot drink - or use the disposable cups and take a drink out with you - which we really appreciated having. Suited our needs perfectly and Im already booking a return trip in a few months time.

Spent two nights here B and B as we were in Manchester to see Peter Kay. Room was small but clean , well equipped and comfortable. Breakfast had a good variety and was well cooked. Staff were polite and friendly. It was very expensive due to the concert however everywhere else would have been. Surrounding alleys were a bit unsavoury when we arrived late but in the day were fine. All in all a good stay.

Not impressed to be honest! Booked to stay in an executive room but there wasn’t anything executive about it, we had no fridge or water which I read on their website is included, there were also no leaflets or information of any kind in the room which was really strange, because we checked in late after being at a local concert I didn’t want to call about the fridge but it was disappointing. Aircon in the room made no difference, room was very warm and even though I turn the fan to its highest and the temp to its lowest it made no difference. Was disappointed with breakfast, cheap sachets of sauces and even cheaper beans that tasted awful, my daughter tried the smoothie and it was so sour it was inedible,I tried it so can confirm why she wasn’t drinking it! Also cold hard croissants with nowhere you could have arm them up. I’d rather stay in the premier inn at least you have working aircon and a decent breakfast!!

The hotel is situated super near train station and Manchester airport. Shuttle bus service was good and drivers of the shuttle bus were helpful and humor. Hence, try not to walk to the hotel although it seems in a walking distance. Hotel room is spacious and well lit. Hotel's breakfast is good as well. Hence, it's definitely a good choice for short morning flight.

Booked this hotel as there was a train strike the day of my flight. Also it's right next to the airport and slightly cheaper than Radissons inside the airport. However, there were no signs from the train station for the hotel. I ended walking around roundabouts I'm not supposed to be on! Turned out I should have walked inside the airport to get out nearer the hotel. Bit of a queue at check in, but ok otherwise. Room was comfy, with a settee. The coffee cups seem to leak- both of them! Would appear to be the material the cups were made of. Big soft towels were a delight. Separate bottles on the wall for shower gel, shampoo, conditioner. Good shower, options of normal and rain shower in a big shower area. Check out was easy, I didn't pay for breakfast. I did a short run in the morning around the hotel car park! Needs must... Overall, I would recommend it, as long as you know how to walk to the hotel from the airport safely! I would recommend the hotel liaise with the airport about signage. If there were signs and I missed it, then they need to be prominent, including detailed directions on the website.

What a fantastic wee hotel the Brooklyn is! We stayed here on the night of the 19th of June for one night before heading off abroad the next day. Great location and a very quirky little hotel far exceeding expectations and better than some of these corporate giants, loved it! Staff were all exceptional to us, friendly and professional always. Bar staff on that evening get a special mention as they were brilliant. Cocktails were out of this world, as stated by Cocktail Queen herself who I was travelling with. Loved the terrace style seating near the bar, never seen that before! Rooms were awesome, bathroom fantastic and I did have a good chuckle at the fact that you could see into the bathroom from the bedroom through a one-way glass panel, hilarious! Everything smelt so wonderfully clean in the building too and I could not fault this place at all! A wonderful stay and a big thanks to all the staff that were on that evening and the next day, you should all be exceptionally proud of yourselves!

My partner and I stayed here for a spa break getaway. Firstly, the hotel is lovely, nicely set out on the outside as well as inside, there is plenty of parking too. The hotel staff are absolutely lovely, so friendly and we were greeted with smiles and plenty of helpful information. One thing I will note is that there are stairs and no lifts, so I wouldn't say it was great for anyone unable to manage stairs. We had King Bedded Room, which was lovely, it was clean, well presented and had everything we needed for our weekend stay, however I wouldn't say the bed was Kingsize, it definitely felt more like a standard room. I'd recommend they get rid of the glass shower curtain and replace with an actual shower curtain that covers more than half the bath, as water had gone all over the bathroom floor. However, when we rang down and asked for more towels they were more than happy to help. Our evening meal was lovely, the starters (small plates) were stunning and the main was okay, they definitely seemed to put more effort into the small plates but it was all tasty and hit the spot (although don't waist plates by putting mash on a separate plate, just put it with the lamb, it looked and felt weird on its own). The thermal suit was fantastic! We spent hours going from steam room to sauna to thermal pool and jacuzzi as well as enjoying a swim in the pool. It was all clean and easy to navigate, the only thing missing was a treatment room to get a massage or two. We couldn't believe the facilities, the gym was huge! We had a look around as we are considering membership and the staff were super friendly, the size was incredible and it was so advanced. If you want use of the gym I'd recommend getting shown around first as there are lots of hidden gems. I'd recommend checking out Parrs Wood Entertainment Centre which is just a short walk up the road, there is bowling, cinema, arcade and lots of places to eat if you want to get out. There's also a nice little pathway down by the river mersey if you fancy a walk. We had a little trouble on checkout, we asked for a late checkout due to other plans and were told that it had been sorted for us to leave at 12pm. However at 11am we had housekeeping knocking on the door telling us we had to leave. I told them we had a late checkout and they argued with us and demanded we leave, they were quite rude. But when I rang down to reception they happily cleared things up for us in a much friendlier way and we left as planned at 12pm. All in all this hotel is a gem! It's perfect for a little relaxing break away. We will definitely be returning.

I stayed at the Milton last night the 22nd and it was excellent. I had read the reviews and was a bot concerned by them so approached the entrance with caution. Its clear the building used to be an office block and home to the DHSS. I was directed to the hotel reception where the pleasant surprises began clean airy and a very efficient and welcoming receptionist. Then onto the room which medium sized was warm the bed comfortable and the shower powerful . I ate in the bar and had a well cooked meal and a beer . Next morning breakfast was simply incredible value the selection was large the coffee good and the produce used a step up. All the staff I interacted with were friendly and helpful . Its cheap but its great

My husband and I came to the hotel on Friday 7/10/2022 room 1216 I honestly couldn't say anything negative about this hotel . The moment we walked in Georgia and neelam on reception greeted us warmly and explained everything. Once we settled in we came back to the bar to enjoy the amazing range of cocktails made by Gabriel :) the bar staff were all amazing from the manager phoebe to Pablo and andree they couldn't do more to make you feel welcome . Our room did have a view of the construction but we expected that as we are in the middle of Manchester and it was not a problem at all . The breakfast was beautiful unfortunately I didn't get the gentleman's name who was clearing the tables but he was so nice lastly I would like to give mo from housekeeping a massive shout out our room was spotless and he even gave me a kit kat 😀 what stands out about this hotel is the staff and I mean all the staff shine they all greet you with smiles and I know how hard that can be for a full shift 😀 can't wait to come back thank you

The bed we slept in was not easy to sleep, with a wooden square in the middle. Just staying for one night and nothing else is wrong, the overall can be justified. The room was booked without a bathroom. They gave a room with a bathroom. Before 9 o'clock British time (10 o'clock daylight saving time), you have to go through check-in procedures, otherwise you will have to add 10 pounds. We didn't change the time indicated on Ctrip, and we were charged ten pounds. Later, the Ctrip customer service dealt with it in time.

Rooms are clean and tidy. Lovely comfy bed but pillows need replacing as falling apart There was no hairdryer in our room but this was quickly rectified once we asked for one, We had a lovely chilled stay in our room but would not recommend the in house restaurant. I have left a separate review of that..👎 Reception and cleaning staff who we met around the hotel were super friendly. We were on floor 5 and it was so peaceful. If I hadn’t heard a shower (very quiet) next door I would have thought we were the only ones on that floor. Hotel is just a short walk from everywhere so in a good position… Only criticism is the hotel is so hot and I mean hot. You melt at reception when you check in. Also we couldn’t get the air con to work in our room so it was. Constantly 19 degrees

Hotel is conveniently located near Manchester airport, but if you are checking in late, traveling with a couple of suitcases, you may want to read on. We called the hotel from Brussels airport to get a basic sense of where to expect the hotel shuttle for pick up; we were told by the reception staff / operator, that one has to make the reservation online and the last pickup was at 10:00. We asked if she could make the reservation since I was already on the phone with her, but she explained it was an outsourced party and we had to do it. Our flight had a scheduled arrival at 09:30, so decided to make the shuttle booking. It was not easy to find a link on their website. Called them again to ask them where I could make the online reservation and was told one just has to cut across the street and the hotel was right there. Which we did. Luckily we had a small carryon with wheels each and it was not raining at that time, although the roads were wet from a recent rain shower. Hotel was functional. Clean/nice. IF you are arriving late, with the elderly or with a couple of large suitcases, please keep this in mind. Also call to understand the hours of operation for the shuttle service. It’s England, so having an umbrella handy is always useful. (As of mid March 2023).

On arrival we were given a nice double room - plenty of space, clean with a well furnished bathroom. After about half an hour we realised the heating in the room wasn't working so I called down to reception. Within 5 mins of calling, a lovely young member of staff came up to look at it. After another 5 mins or so he had upgraded us to an executive room on the same floor which was huge! He even offered to help us move our cases etc to the new room. We were also given complimentary vouchers for drinks and coffees. The breakfast buffet had plenty of choice so all good with us. Cannot fault the customer care but there were a couple of small things that weren't great - the toilet in the second room didn't flush well at all but after being upgraded we weren't going to make an issue of it so said nothing Only other thing was the lack of light in the room - we had a side room so no natural light got in. There were a couple of lamps on the desk but far too dull - not great when trying to do hair and make up for a wedding! All in all we had an enjoyable stay at the Jury's Manchester and would stay again.

Living in the first floor, the interior decoration is very unsuitable for the Chinese. The bed shelves are carved up and down, left and right, and the characters on the side of the bed. There is also a large mirror on the side of the bed. The left and right sides of the hotel are all bars and restaurants. It will not stop before 3am, especially the sound of drumming, although the sound is not loud, but the rhythm is similar to the heartbeat, which seriously affects the rest. Fortunately, the front desk service attitude is still very good, but also presented early, otherwise the shadow area is bigger.

We stayed in Manchester for the weekend and The Midland was in a perfect spot for exploring the city. Both nights we stayed at the Midland there were wedding parties being hosted there, unfortunately this led to not having the best sleep as there was regularly noise coming from other rooms, but when we called reception they did their best to help. In the morning the staff were extremely apologetic and went above and beyond to make it up to us and said they usually are able to keep the bigger parties staying in the same area so this does not happen. Ideal location, literally a couple of minutes walks from the train station. Sainsbury’s local across the street, the city’s shops, bars and restaurants a short walk. The hotel is stylish, quirky and unique. It has its own cafe (serves Starbucks weekdays only), bar, restaurant, spa, gym. However, for the value of the room, I would expect additional in-room facilities - fridge, a bottle of complimentary water. The room was a good size and decorated beautifully. My partner was exceptionally impressed that our room television had Sky Sports! Luxurious hand soap, shower gel and hair shampoo supplied. We used the hotel bar at various times throughout our stay - the bar staff work very hard, and serve quality cocktails which display their expertise, however we didn’t find all bar staff welcoming or warming when being served. Just a smile and warm greeting would make a difference, and what ideally expected in the hotel and hospitality industry. On the other hand, the times we visited the receptionist staff, service was how we expected - greeted warmly, friendly and helpful. Whilst the hotels location is its biggest positive selling feature, we do feel the hotel is overpriced for what it is compared to other hotels we have stayed at. Nevertheless, due to its location we would stay again.

The location of the hotel is very good. The rooms are neat, clean and spacious. It is very convenient to go to surrounding attractions. The price is moderate and the price-performance ratio is very high. It is suitable for travel and vacation. I will stay here often in the future.

The hotel has its strong and weak points. The cost is cheap for Manchester and based on its location. You can arguably walk to Deansgate (drive was 5 minutes). There is a large Sainsburys , gym and retail park next door: plus a KFC and macdonalds across the road. The rooms are in desperate need of refurb. Whilst the bedding was nice and clean the rest feels old, dated and in need of a refresh. The walls feel thin and you can hear conversations in other rooms and outside on the corridors. The windows are worse in that road traffic and other noise can be heard. The hotel is built like an annex where reception and restaurant area sits on its own but the rooms are part of the larger building opposite. It is relatively secure though being split probably doesn’t help as anyone can let anyone in. The staff are great and very helpful. The car park availability was terrible. Either it is too small for the hotel or the nearby residents are using it: I think the latter as there was dozens of cars parked in the retail park adjacent to the hotel as well (where I had to park).

I’m literally sat typing this at 3:03am because I can’t get any sleep. - When I arrived, the 2 members of staff working at reception were arguing with each other and the girl who served me was in a foul mood (unprofessional) - The bed is uncomfortable - Charged £7 to use wifi for one night stay (most hotels offer it in the package) - There were hairs in the bath from the last person (during covid-19 pandemic) - The soap dispenser in the bath was empty - The hotel seems to be used as a hostel for some people to live in and as it’s after 3am, I can still hear people with the TV on in their room loud. - People chatting outside whilst smoking. It means when I open the window, I smell the smoke and risk setting the fire alarm off. I didn’t realise it was a Britannia hotel. I’ve had shocking experiences in these hotels before but until you get here, you don’t realise as the name isn’t obvious on the booking. If I’d known I’d have avoided it.
