It may be convenient for a little stay due to time.
But there are no shops or buses nearby.

It is difficult to walk without using a taxi or tuk-tuk.
There are no amenities.
I need to bring it.
The room only has a rack, a chair, and a trash can for hanging clothes.
There is breakfast.
Food is to be eaten on the roof terrace.
Sri Lanka 🇱🇰 cuisine milk rice, coconut 🥥 used samball served. It was spicy but very delicious.
Hotel tuk 🏨 I think the tuk is expensive.
I had money troubles.
I went shopping at the place I asked for, and it took a long time because the cash register was crowded. I was charged an astonishing amount.

|5.04km from city centerFirst the god things. The location and the hotel surrounds are just great. You an walk to a number of local restauants and shops with no trouble at all. Reception is very impressive with an open style leading onto the pool and longue area. Staff are frinedly and courteous and the bar area is good. When we were there, a number of travel groups arrived and departed so they seem to have a good market cornered there. Unfortunately now onto the bad. While our room was spacious with a balcony there were issues with cleanliness, particularly with the bathroom and balcony. There appeared to be an ongoing issue with plumbing meaning the room smelt and ther was some mould on the tiles. To be fair to management, as we were only staying in the room overnight with a very early start, we did not complain or bring it to their attention, however, the problem with the bathroom was obviously not a new one. It is quite reasonably priced (about 11000 rupees fora night) but I don't think that menas you need to put up with a not so clean room.

Food excellent delicious. Staff always helpful. I would stay here again.. Beach golden sands just next door. In fact I M returning here before I leave. Would recommend to my friends.

We arrived in the middle of the night, no one was watching the door, knocking on the door could not be opened, but fortunately there was a phone call on Ctrip. The sanitary conditions are worrying. In addition, a room in the same room found a frog in the toilet, live, another room found a gecko (or lizard?), perhaps the ecological environment is too good, haha... breakfast gave us a surprise, rich and delicious.

There is a beach downstairs, but the beach is a bit dirty and the sand is co****. The room is quite clean, you need to bring your own slippers, but the soundproofing is average. There is a KTV upstairs and it is a bit noisy before 9pm. There is a bar and swimming pool on the top floor, which is quite large and has a good view. There is a restaurant on the 6th floor. The staff are very enthusiastic, especially the restaurant manager. He is very nice and the pasta is very good. My brother who had a flight to catch a flight told the manager in advance that they can take it away. The price is about the same as at the airport, but his salads are better. There are a lot of colorful peppers and raw onions, and other dishes use some Sri Lankan spices, which are similar to strong curry flavor, so friends who are not used to it should order with caution. Not bad for a one-night transfer between flights.

|5.71km from city centerStayed here for a week and I think I really like this hotel. Because I made the decision after comparing Ctrip and ***********. The housekeeper Saman is very nice. When I arrived late at night on the first night, I just needed to contact him and he would drive a Tuktuk to the gate to help me pick up my luggage. They also care about the residents' movements and will remind me to pay attention to safety late at night. The room is very clean, with a kettle and mineral water provided, and the air conditioning is also very good. There is no mention of hot water in the room. In fact, hot water is provided, but you may need to bring your own slippers, toothpaste and toothbrush. Furthermore, this is more like a private garden. Although there are occasional sounds of planes flying over, it is very quiet most of the time. Especially since they have tried to install wifi. Moreover, the hotel has its own kitchen, and you can consult the housekeeper if you want to use it. English communication is more important, but if you have a translator, it probably won’t be a big problem. Recommend this hotel to everyone.

|6.62km from city centerZiegler Cottage was our comfortable home for a few days while we visited Negombo. It is easy to reach from the airport, and you can take tuk-tuks or the bus into Negombo. Our room had a sea view and a balcony with sea breezes making airconditioning unnecessary. The waves were too high for us to swim in the sea but the pool made up for it. Food, especially the fruit selection at breakfast, was very good. Staff were responsive and very hard-working. The hotel can organize trips--our all-day outing to a spice plantation, the Ridee Viharaya Temple, and the elephant park was perfect. Everyone goes out of their way to accommodate your needs. The hotel owner drove us to our destination when our ride did not show up. Thank you for a memorable stay! we look forward to returning.

|4.47km from city centerPlease take a closer look if you come to Negombo. I booked two rooms, but when they arrived, they were connected to a suite separated by a door. The surroundings are relatively remote. Breakfast is 3 US dollars per person, but the quality is very good. We originally spent the night in Negombo, and the elephant orphanage the next day, in fact, there is really no need to waste money in the elephant orphanage. Because I only used Ctrip to watch, I feel that Negombo has no good hotels at all. In fact, there are many good hotels here! There are many delicious gourmet shops. But to book this kind of reservation, Ctrip has very few listings.

|2.83km from city centerI really liked it here. The spacious room and adjactent bathroom was perfectly clean and everything was in pristine condition/working order. Food is delicious and comes at a great price. There's even a pool! The front porch with chairs and tables makes it very easy to get in touch with the travelers and tourists here. And the company was very interesting - Villa Ananthaya obviously attracts a different set of people than your run-of-the- mill beach tourist. Mahinder is a kind and very helpful host who even took the time to bring me to a store to buy spices in the center and ensure I pay local prices instead of tourist prices. I happily recommend this place, especially for the two days before your flight back. The airport is only a 3 USD TukTuk ride away.

|6.48km from city centerThis was my third stay at the Goldi Sands, honestly, the last time was nearly 20 years ago but I had such a great time back then I had high expectations. In the intervening 20 years, the hotel has had a revamp, double the size, double the number of swimming pools, added an elevator and they've removed the beach-fronted bungalows. All of which I think was a smart move and well worth doing. What has changed is the service and the catering. The staff are of course all very polite just that they didn't go the extra mile like they used to. We arrived late as our flight had been delayed, all I wanted was a couple of bottles of beer, they did arrive but I almost had to beg. I booked a taxi to the airport with the front desk, but they forgot, the waitresses at dinner were all about the hard upsell rather than serving. The breakfast as far as my memory serves me used to be awesome, today's breakfast is the same every day and lacks imagination, is poorly presented, and includes the worst coffee ever. The hotel has a confusing number of tariffs from all-inclusive to room only which means if you want to buy a drink it takes forever as they have to check your ”status” and then if you pay cash they have to go to the cashier as they carry no float. The rooms are a good size, clean and comfortable but basic. All in all it is still a good hotel to choose but sadly it is no longer in the memorable category.

|4.32km from city centerOne of the hotels used by Luxury Escapes tours in Sri Lanka. Accoms were nice enough, drink on arrival and good customer service in the hotel part. Loved the pool aspect and that the hotel had a gym (which I used). Biggest downside was the area, I wouldn't really recommend this location, need to get a Tuk tuk to Negombo, which wasn't that nice a place to visit (we looked at the fort and the fishing markets, but I wouldn't recommend stopping). The town centre itself wasn't anything great in comparision to other stops in Sri Lanka. Possibly in the wrong area to get the best out of Negombo. Worst part was the service in the ala carte restaurant. We had been earlier in the day and people were getting food within 20 minutes. We needed to eat and had an hour before our tour meeting at 7pm, we ordered a drink each and three meals between three of us. Took 20 minutes for the drinks to come out, and then after 40 minutes we checked on when the food was coming, told it was shortly. Then another 20 minutes for ONE main to come out, and then another 15 for the next, and then another 5 for the last. Couldn't understand the delay, the buffet restaurant was nearly empty, nothing seemed to be happening quickly inside that would account for the extraordinary delay. We got the bill - all full price, so we asked manager for a discount as we had missed the meeting and had been stuffed around. It wasn't overly expensive, more the principle of the matter. They offered 10% (basically the service charge or a tax) and then couldn't allow more apparently. This just really was disappointing service. In the end I negotiated a free coffee in the morning. I also suggested that they should provide updates if customers are waiting a long time, and perhaps a free drink and some apologies for delays. Breakfast (buffet) was better as I served myself, food however was generally not hot unless you visited omelette stations etc. This was the second night in Sri Lanka and by far the longest time we waited for foods over the trip. This did seem to be a theme throughout Sri Lanka however in hotel restaurants (buffet foods always cold, and slow service for a la carte). I would not stay here again for the location, but also the food.

Well, the level of welcome is still the same, thanks in particular to the staff who are very attentive to customers and very helpful. For example, on arrival, we noticed a problem with the water pressure to the shower and they sent the plumber immediatly. The breakfast is copious (a plate with 3 fruits, a fruit juice, fried eggs or an omelette), tea or coffee, slices of sandwich bread with butter and jam. The room is very large (we were in room 17 around 30m²) as is the attached bathroom and the bed is very comfortable. there is a fan and also air conditioning.

My friends took a few photos with drones. The staff were warm and thoughtful. The breakfast and dinner were in the villa. The chefs are good at cooking. , Also sent us local wine and yogurt, the payment is settled in US dollars. In the evening listening to music and birdsong, watching the stars, occasionally fireflies fly by, children playing in the swimming pool, the years are quiet, but the next day the plane returns to Shanghai. The boss is American, and the service staff are all locals. If you have the opportunity, stay a few more nights in the future. Push

The hotel is 3 minutes from the city's most animated street with some quality restaurants and a nice bars and 5 minutes from the beach. The hotel was very comfortable and the hotel was very comfortable. The pool is at the stop so the pool is full of dead insects and plant residues: bathing has your risks and dangers. No lifts and very narrow stairs. The hotel, including rooms, is smoker. Bright and cheery. Cosy. Small swimming pool. Loved the pets too. Nice set breakfast, freshly cooked and served to you. Really short and simple straight walk to the beach, restaurants and bars. I went on a boat cruise one evening and the owners checked to see that the company was legitimate. On two separate evenings, they reserved me lovely tables at restaurants and made sure I had good service. They got up early when I left to help with my luggage and to see me off. Support small businesses. Absolutely lovely.

|6.31km from city centerWe arrived to this hotel for our last day of our trip, after seeing very nice pictures of him ,and in addition the airport shuttle and breakfast included in the price. It was a little expensive but we assumed it was worth it and since it is the last day of the trip we wanted to go for sure. After a full day of bus traveling we wanted to take a shower, but there was no hot water and barely a water flow. When we told the employee at the hotel he looked surprised and wanted to try to fix it in the middle of the night, without success. In the morning when we finished the minimalist breakfast and went over to pay and check out, the managers said they were knew about this problem ,and when I asked why it was not said before entering the room I did not receive an answer. We ended up getting an embarrassing 10% discount. Anyway, a ”resort” is not. If you are looking to finish/start your vacation in good taste, I would reccommend you to look elsewhere.

The room is large, the hygiene and facilities are average, and the professionalism of the service staff needs to be improved. I caught a flight in the morning and didn't have breakfast, so I can't comment on the food. However, the scenery of the hotel is first-class. The balcony is spacious and you can enjoy the unobstructed scenery from the balcony. You can enjoy the beautiful sunset and sunrise. Thumbs up
