Currently the property of Madurai Residency is under renovation, so there is noise from 11am to 6pm, this is a discomfort. We booked 2 standard rooms, 1st room had a nice view of Meenakshi temple and the 2nd room was dissapointing - it just had a large wall of another building. Rooms were clean. Breakfast spread was nice with veg south indian and egg buffet and a nice spread of juices and tea/coffee. We had our dinner at the hotel and i must say that you should try their Kerala ****tta and chettinad chicken. Even biryani was good. We had it with lemon soda it was really refreshing. The rooftop dinner with super breeze just made our day!

Madurai Railway station, Meenakshi Amman Temple near by. Just take an auto which you can find easily outside the hotel without waiting much. 2. Rooms are good 3. The front desk service was very good, but the business was very bad. To the hotel, don't let early check in understand, the front desk asks for the price, go to the restaurant to buy breakfast, the price of the restaurant is not the same as the price given by the front desk. Early Check In, the hotel began to strictly demand that you can not check in early, must be 2 pm, after communication, helplessly understand, then go out for lunch, come back to 12 noon, found that the hotel even gave another pair of white couple check in, but also provide A towel and welcome drink. I didn't have this at all when I checked in. The above shows that hotel management is very confusing. The security guards greeted each other with enthusiasm. Breakfast is not expensive, but meals are average. The room hardware is very good, the air conditioning is also very powerful, but the refrigerator is very old, very noisy in the general heritage of the manor. It is about 10 minutes walk to Madurai station ７, ８ minutes and to the Minaksi temple. There are many shops and local restaurants in the surrounding area. The front desk was kind and taught me information such as train bus to tilchi. I stayed in a deluxe double, but the room was large enough and the bed was large and clean. There was no refrigerator, but there was an electric pot and a coffee cherry tea set, water 1.5L. The air conditioner was very good and effective. The bathroom with the step is the toilet in the back, and the front is a strange construction of the shower space (the toilet is not wet even if the shower is used in the opposite direction), but unfortunately, the boiler failure? During my stay, there was no hot water. The towel was only a large bath towel and there was no small towel, but there was a toothbrush set. It was 1500Rs with net reservation without breakfast, It can be said that it is reasonable.

This is my 3rd stay in the property in the last 1 year. All the time i went in a group. My previous experience was almost good. But this time i found the property unclean and needed proper upkeep. Bed linen was almost soiled and reused i think. Bathroom badly need proper cleaning. Mirror was so dirty due to continuous soap bubbles deposit and the flushing knobs were also of the same condition. Common areas were littered with dirty linen and strewn with mop and buckets which was an eye sore. Towels were so yellow that we used our own bath towels. Only thing that compensated all these is smiling staff and always ready to attend to our request. Room keys (e keys) were non functional and we had to call the staff to open the rooms every time we had to open. Hope the management heeds to this advice.

Centrally located hotel but it doesn't have a lot of the amenities that one would associate with the price they are charging... There isn't enough parking space for your car, they don't have a restaurant, only breakfast buffet is served plus they won't even let you use that space to eat something you would have ordered from elsewhere. The rooms thought nicely built need a lot of maintenance, furniture and certain corners are damaged. The bathrooms definitely need better maintenance, there are cockroaches everywhere. There is no fridge in the room to store food either. This is place is like an expensive b&b.. Not worth it.

I am staying here right now, after leaving Chennai and the Leela Palace. Huge difference which is expected. In Madurai, there are basically no other options, if you want consistency, a newish hotel, a well-known brand (again, consistency), and on-site dining options. That’s why we chose this hotel. The hotel common areas are impressive and beautiful. The staff is extremely helpful. They arranged a great tour with guide, for the Temple, which is a must! Ask for VJ! Rooms: They are very tired and pretty beaten up, probably because there are no real options here. They are simple, nice and the shower has great pressure. You’ll need that with the heat. Restaurant/Common Areas: pretty good. Excellent service. They will get you whatever you need. also very clean and spacious. Impressive lobby, as Courtyard in the US is definitely not like this! Location: traffic is everywhere in India. But this location is pretty ideal for the Temple. It’s a decent 40 min ride from the airport. It’s very secure with pool, and fun kind of random on site bar (where I am now) and delish drinks too. All in all, this Hotel is the only choice if you want consistent cleanliness with some luxury in Madurai. It’s also very reasonable.

So one day, we visited GRT regency to have lunch and were bowled over with their quality and hospitality even though we didnt stay at their place. We loved the place so much that for the next 3 days, we visited GRT for lunch thereafters. They took care of our 10 year old son and mother who was a senior citizen Special mention to Jeyapandian, Govidrajan, Francis and Vishnu for their wonderful care and hospitatlity.
