On our Way back from Chakrata and the Hun Temple in Hanol on the Banks of River Tons, we went to Rishikesh and to this Hotel Amris, accidentally, because we were put off by the congestion in Mussouri. We wanted a reasonable accommodation at Rishikesh for a Day, as our Flight to Mumbai was on the next Day in the Evening. We found this Hotel at an Optimum Location for Airport and Site Seeing, near Natraj Chowk. While Location was a Priority, it was the Cleanliness of the Hotel, which also was our Top Priority, that bowled us. Apart from getting an Off Season Concessional Accommodation, we also got Excellent Room Service and Useful and Excellent Guidance from the General Manager Mr. Roy, who helped us to Arrange a Trip to Neelkanth Mahadev Temple Utilizing our Spare Waiting Time for our Flight. In Spite of being a Pure Veg Restaurant Hotel, the Hotel had a very Decent Atmosphere and Not a Yatri Look.

Great hotel in an ideal location within walking distance of the Parmarth Niketan Ashram and Aarti, plus other temples, ashrams, cafes and shopping area. Lovely, helpful staff and clean rooms. Pros: Super-friendly welcome and service from highly responsive and attentive staff. Clean, comfy rooms with nice toiletries. Wonderful roof terrace with views across the mountains and the Ganges. Tasty, well-cooked food and good menu options in the rooftop restaurant. Cons: Weak Wi-Fi, continually dropping connection. Coffee machine broken, so no freshly brewed coffee at breakfast (only powdered Nescafe). Ask for hot water so you can make an international style coffee. Limited breakfast choices for international guests. If you’re not keen on an Indian-style breakfast, there’s only white ‘air’ bread toast, jam, fruit, curd, cereal (no cold milk). No egg options (this might be due to religious reasons). Suggestion for management: fix your coffee machine or add a hot water urn. It would be great to include a more nutritious brown bread option, honey and a few sealed bananas at breakfast when you have international guests staying.

We spent a wonderful two days with friends at Aloha. The property is lovely and the view of the Ganges is spectacular. The weather was great and we spent a lot of time in the garden and the pool. We went there in a group of 6 people (3 couples. I have booked 6 beds in a dormitory (mixed type, but one of my family members was quite skeptical about privacy in the dorm (it was her first experience. So we have requested the staff there and they have provided us with a dorm of 8 beds which was quite amazing and one of the cleanest dorms i have ever seen. We had a great time together. I am so happy to stay at High Bank Peasants cottage. I stayed here few months back as well but now they have transformed it to next level after recent renovations. The rooms are big and with beautiful balcony. The roof top cafe for breakfast is so beautiful with mesmerizing view of the Ganga and the whole town of Rishikesh. The bathrooms are so fancy as well . The breakfast served was pure magic with home recipes. This is probably the only Guest house on the edge of the reserve forest with nice breeze and the sound of forest. I certainly recommend this property to any one who is looking for a unique and peaceful accommodation in Rishikesh.
