Really nice traditional guesthouse to stay in Miyajima. Right in the heart of the old town and couple of minutes walk from the shrine. The chef is an absolute sushi master also and was amazed by the sushi omakase tasting menu we received as part of our stay. It included some different fish i was hoping to try while in Japan. Would definitely recommend staying overnight if you get the chance if visiting Miyajima as the shrine and Tori gate is really nice lit up at night when quieter with less tourists and the Shiomachi-An guesthouse made for a really nice place to stay

I stayed here for one night to listen to a concert that took place at Itsukushima Shrine in the evening. It is located on a back street of souvenirs, so it is convenient for sightseeing and shopping. The building has a sense of history. When I was shown to the room, I felt uneasy because it was old and dark. However, as time passed, I started to feel its goodness. The room was cleaned beautifully. There were objects placed here and there. The landlady's consideration made me feel like I was at a relative's house. I booked a room only, but I got breakfast for 1650 yen. It was very delicious, the dishes and presentation were nice, and I ended up leaving about the amount of dinner. The chopsticks were easy to use, so I bought them for my husband and me. I'm glad I got breakfast. There are two shared baths, and you can lock them and bathe each person for about 40 minutes. The baths are tiled and the water is left running, so it was nice and refreshing to relieve fatigue. Please note that payment is only cash.

The location of the hotel is very good, very close to the Yanshima Shrine, the Millennium Pavilion, and the Five-Pagoda. It didn't take a few steps. After we arrived at the ferry terminal, we met the hotel's shuttle bus and checked the baggage back. Then we strolled along the coast easily and went back to the hotel with our Yanshima Shrine. In the evening, come out to see the big bird house floating on the water after the high tide. The hotel is built on the mountain and the entrance is relatively small. We confirmed at the door that the hotel should belong to a larger hotel in Yandao. Although it is a bit old, the room is very large, with tatami and western style, very comfortable. The hot springs are well-regulated. It is said to be effective for arthritis. It doesn't feel embarrassing for a day. It is a hotel dinner. It is a good dinner for a hotel that has stayed at no more than 20 hot spring hotels. , recommended.

I went to Miyajima on a family trip and used it for the first time. It is a feeling that the old good old inn built by the sea near the bustling shopping street which is the main street is renovated for the present age, and the whole facility ~ the facilities in the room are unified and beautifully arranged It was a very nice inn where you can feel the old history in 々 while being able to feel it. There are many free services available only for guests. The hotel has a lounge with free drinks to enjoy the scenery in the lobby and the top floor, and there is also a service where you can choose multiple pillows and yukata according to your preference. There are plenty of drinks and sweets in the room, so I didn't have to worry about the expenses of fine beverages. This inn will respond as flexibly and pleasantly as possible to the wishes of the guests. For example, in our case this time, when we told our family in advance that there are people with bad legs, they can install a bed in a Japanese-style room, and change the basic dishes provided to each person's taste. Even if I was lost, I was able to make a flexible response and suggestion immediately, so I was able to spend a very comfortable time. The hot spring is in the basement, and it has an old-fashioned atmosphere with only a large bathtub 1, and it is not so large, and the scenery is not good because it is in the basement. Compared to the hot spring resorts devised at this time, it may feel unsatisfactory, but it is clean and the temperature is around 40 degrees, so it is ”good old” while taking a long bath. I felt that it was a place to enjoy. It was stated that the quality of the hot water was slightly salty and smooth, and it was pumped and boiled from the source. I was able to take a comfortable bath without being squeezed or dry even by families with weak skin. Unfortunately, there are no open-air baths or private baths, but some rooms have open-air baths with rooms, so I think you can choose according to your taste. What should be noted here is the wonderfulness of the food. The amount of meals varies or is insufficient depending on the course and price, which is often a big preparation at such a large inn, and the impression and quality of appearance are greatly different from the images on the site. Instead of having a sense of failure such as the dishes that were cold at the time of serving inn dishes, we were able to provide a wonderful dish of a more impressive level. This time we were in the room, and it was originally said that Masazen was the basic set, but 4 kind of seasonal course dishes (Masazen, delicious fish, delicious meat, delicious feast) with guidance on the site. I requested it at the stage of advance reservation and received everything with my family. There is no loss at all in every course, and the abundant ingredients unique to the land are carefully prepared, and all of them are very delicious, and the individual dishes requested by the order are prepared quickly. At the end, he made rice balls for dinner, which were full and could not be eaten, and he was able to provide a supreme time beyond the best. In addition, the breakfast at the dining hall I received the next morning was surprisingly luxurious with a large number of items, but the amount was gradually appropriate and very satisfying. The seasoning is natural, healthy, and exquisite taste adjustment and appropriate temperature, which does not rely on artificial taste operations such as umami seasonings, while protecting the gentle flavor that makes the best use of the goodness of fresh ingredients. Submit It was served, delicious and very impressed. Even teens did not feel any dissatisfaction and were able to enjoy it until the end, and there was no problem with the temperature, seasoning, size and hardness of the ingredients for the elderly. I'm a diabetic Ⅱ type and I'm usually worried about my blood sugar level, but even if I eat this well 々, my blood sugar level rises calmly and does not soar as when I eat out. After 々 I was very surprised because I didn't feel sick. I think there are individual differences in how to feel the taste, but I hope it will be helpful.

I have never before walked into a hotel room and refused to leave because of the view but I did at this beautiful ryokan. Jukeiso is something special, set on the hill next to the famous O-Torii gate on the island. We were met at the ferry terminal and taken through the town to the ryokan, where we were met by more wonderfully attentive staff who gave us the warmest of welcomes and insisted on taking our bags, something I always feel guilty about. While we checked in, one member of staff even cleaned the wheels of our suitcase, which I'd say goes above and beyond. We were shown up to our room and we were quite blown away. The room had windows on two sides looking on to the bay where the O-Torii gate is. The room itself was a traditional Japanese one with tatami mats in the main room and futons which were laid out for us when we went for dinner. This being Japan, there were of course all modern conveniences including charging points, adaptors, spotlessly clean facilities, a TV and small kitchen area but the main draw was the stupendous view. We were given tea and invited to settle in and I didn't move until the evening. I just sat in the window looking at the view. The ryokan is located right in the town centre, down a flight of stairs. It is also about a five minute walk from the O-Torii gate. In the evening, we went down for dinner. I am a vegan and my wife had advised them of this. In response they had made clear that they were very happy to cater for me, which they did with aplomb. We were treated to a seven course meal which, for most residents was very heavily based around fish and seafood, with some of the area's famous oysters served as a starter. I was given equivalent dishes throughout and thoroughly enjoyed them all, although we were given so much that I was unable to finish my meal. The staff were attentive and helpful throughout. My only comment on their wonderful service is that they might have helped us poor foreigners with a description of the delicious food we were served. As with many traditional guest houses in Japan, the ryokan had a communal bathing area and an outdoor onsen which could be booked for free for half an hour. My wife enjoyed this on her own as I didn't want to rush her. Beautiful yucata were provided for bathers to wear after their relaxation time. We returned to our room to find that the futons had been laid out and we spent much of the evening simply sitting at the window before going to sleep. In the morning, we were able to get up and down to the O-Torii gate before all the tourists had arrived, which was a real treat. Breakfast was once again excellent with my wife and son enjoying a traditional one which, once again, was very fish and seafood dependent. As the unadventurous type - and a vegan - I had a traditional European breakfast of tea, toast, fruit and a small salad, which was just what I wanted. We left in the morning and the wonderful staff looked after our bags, deliverin

6 This is my first stay in 2 following the month. As last time, I was able to stay calmly for a clean room, ample amenities, a familiar Goemon bath, and 3 for a day. After all, I think this inn is a luxury meal. You can feel that you are on a trip for morning and evening meals using local ingredients. What impressed me especially this time was the sashimi of the ango that went out for dinner on the 2 day! The unique crunchy texture was the best! Of course, other dishes are also very delicious! Also, I was very grateful for the staff's response. In me, Miyajima's inn is here. I would like to make time and use it again.

The place is so nice, and the owner very kind. A nice guy - probably his son - takes care of the welcoming, and gives suggestions on the activities around the island. The house is very nice with a nice garden before the door and a big hall at the entrance full of many suggestive Japanese decorations and statues. On the left a big room full of sofas and other decorations and also tourist guides in many languages to help the guest, with tv and tables, and also a kitchen with cereals and juices for the guests to be used. Stairs take you to the rooms where you can experience how a Japanese ryokan is, with short tables, cushions on the floor, big windows and bamboo walls. The room has a initial anti room with a small table and a wardrobe where to store futons and pillows, and a second wider room enough for three futons, with other two short tables, and big windows over the entire island, with two big chairs and a small sink. The toilet and the showers are shared though, and for the bravest there is also a bath with hot water where to relax (but I do not know how and how many times do they clean it). I loved the atmosphere 🥰

Your wife? It's a small hotel operated by two people. The response was kind and the impression was very good. The room was large and comfortable. However, the bath with the room is honestly small with a unit bus with a toilet. However, the large bath was released in the family bath (locked with the key when used), and it was able to take a bath with Yu 々. The lobby is a novel on the bookshelf, and it is quietly relaxed with self coffee while sitting on the firewood stove. I think the location is good on the street above the most crowded street.

The location is very good, just a few minutes walk to the Itsukushima Shinto Shrine and Mt. Misen Ropeway station. There is a free shuttle bus station right outside the hotel to go the ropeway station. You can see the Torii throughout the hotel window. At night when the Torii with lights on, the view is stunning! The indoor onsen is not big but it's ok for 10+ people at the same time, the outside onsen is small and can only occupies 4-5ppl. The staff in the hotel are very friendly and thoughtful. I was fully wet after the hiking to Mt. Mismen on the raining day, they helped me to dry all my shoes and coat. Happy to stay at Iwaso and will definitely stay again.

The Miyajima location is good although much better with a sea view . The hotel is comfortable without being luxurious , beds especially and a good wet room shower/ bath set up . Rooms are quit simple but very good . Free high quality toiletries abound but towels are pretty small - we would have traded fluffy and big for less freebies The staff are very helpful with good English spoken by the maitre d especially Public areas are clean and simple The kaiseki package is necessary and has a lot of food with many choices of main dish to cater to any need . Visually it’s lovely however even allowing for some different tastes I’d say the overall standard was variable , in particular the grilled fish and seafood was a bit overcooked. Some more flexibility over breakfast would help - we B left for an early ferry day 2 and even though our schedule was for a western breakfast it was not possible to give us some croissant or anything to go This is a good comfortable property - but not luxury standard as implied

It was great. It is a guest house in Miyajima. We stayed with 3 people. It was about 25000 yen a night. The room is very large !! I thought it was in a house. There was also a veranda in the room on the first floor. It is with kitchen ♪ There is also a counter seat, and it is not troublesome for a place to eat and drink. The location is in front of Miyajima ferry terminal.

This is an inn where you can enjoy exciting rooms, superb views from the rooms, and delicious meals. Sightseeing access to the World Heritage Peace Memorial Park and Itsukushima Shrine is also good. There are 12 rooms in total, and some of them are spacious, and some can accommodate a large number of people. Each room has a different structure, and you can see the Japanese garden from each room. It is recommended for couples, married couples, girls' trips, and children who want to cherish their time alone, as privacy is maintained.

After battling crowds in Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka and Hiroshima, Miyajima and the Hotel Miyajima Villa were a welcome respite. Indeed, we so enjoyed our stay that we added an additional night. Before and after the arrival and departure of day trippers from Hiroshima, we felt as though we had the island and its wild deer all to ourselves. The hotel is immaculate, ideally located (a few steps from the ferry and a short walk to the island's attractions) and staffed by incredibly helpful, friendly and energetic staff. A hearty breakfast got each day off to a solid start while our afternoon soaks in the top floor onsen were perfect for getting rid of kinks from a day of sightseeing.

Good points: 1. Location is amazing since it’s right on the island and everything is within walking distance. 2. We had breakfast and supper included in the stay. Food was varied and plentiful for most palates. Plenty of fruit and veg too. 3. Staff for 98% of the time was great. Language barriers are expected. Google translate is a perfect alternative to the translation issue. The front desk staff were awesome and was extremely helpful. 4. Room is spacious for a traditional Japanese hotel. We had our own onsen which was delightful. The beds were mostly comfortable and we had two full mattresses pushed together creating a massive king! 5. Once you enter the hotel you must take off your shoes and the hotel provides house slippers which generally fit most people. The lobby has shoe cubbies for your shoes. They do not lock, but Japan has very little petty theft so you don’t need to fret over potential thievery. Negative points: 1. This is of no fault of the hotel, rather it’s a Google maps problem. Be aware Google maps will basically have you climb the mountain and drag your suitcase through a dirt path. Instead put in the Miyajima post office and with the water to your right, turn up to the small road with the post office to your back. Keep going straight for about 2.5 city blocks and you’ll walk right into the hotel. Much easier than the 40 minute hike we took. 2. Restaurant staff on the whole were great. Only issue was this morning when we went to breakfast this morning and tried to sit in our usual table, the staff tried to sit us with some other people. I asked if we could sit at a different table and the individual said no and walked away. We didn’t know these people they tried to sit us with. However, they were tourists like us. I was frustrated because the staff member just walked away from us when I was still speaking to him. Very rude! 3. The toilet room smelled really bad. It was a combination of mold and chemicals.

I decided by looking at the photo of the open-air bath. The moment I went, I thought it was a little old, but it happened to be changed to a high-ranked room, and it was spacious and great. It was a room with 2 rooms, so I could sleep 2 people each by 4 people. It was large enough to sit at the table even if I laid a futon. I feel that there were two faucets in the washroom. There are also 2 toilets. It was nice to have something! Thank you very much. It's a full-fledged open-air, but it's really round. (If you stand up), but I want you to keep this spectacular view without blindfolding in the future! !! !! I just have to stand up! !! !! Really superb view. wonderful. I wanted to take a picture, but it was raining and I couldn't. I can't shoot normally. .. .. No, it's okay. The open-air bath here. You should take it. I climb the stairs outside from the usual bath, but what is it? I was surprised to think. It's the best. Rice, I love , so it's the best when served. Isn't it enough for people who like it? The pot of the pot. Also, whether it was breakfast or dinner, the rice was cooked in 々. (I'm sorry. I'm ambiguous because I stayed overnight, but I think it was a hotel here.) I felt that the rice grains were also delicious. The bath in the photo is another bath. But the best thing is the Marumie open air that I couldn't take. Overall, I think it was very good.

Probably our favourite place to stay in our 2-week holiday, with the best food and warmest welcome. Shinko-San was very friendly and welcoming. She kindly annotated a local map and advised us on what to see on Miyajima, as well as what times the low and high tides were to see the torii gate. Go and see the torii gate at sunset - the gate is floodlit so we got stunning photos there. All the day trippers had gone home so it was nice and quiet. Miyajima itself is such a lovely island, with a great shopping street full of places to eat, including street food, and a shop selling Studio Ghibli items which was perfect for my daughter. We did the cable car up Mount Misen, did the final walk up to the top, then walked all the way down. Beautiful and peaceful. The food here was extremely tasty, presented beautifully, and Shinko-San explained what everything was, and how to eat it. She wanted to make sure that we all liked it and substituted items for our son when there were ingredients that he didn’t eat. We especially enjoyed the tofu dishes and the fried oysters (you can see the oyster beds when you are on the ferry over to the island). Highly recommend the Japanese-style breakfast - the best breakfasts we had in 2 weeks. We stayed in a Japanese-style room (4 people) and there was 1 shower and 2 toilets in there, which was good. The futons were very comfortable, and we had a lovely view of the water. The bathroom that had the shower and toilet was quite cramped but it was fine for the 2 nights that we stayed there. We loved our stay here, and would definitely recommend it.

I noticed that the key to the room number described in the paper handed over at check-in was different, and when I called the front desk, I replied, ”please come to the front desk because I gave the key wrongly.” I thought, ”I'm going to take it, and I'm going to open the room with the key I gave, and I'm already carrying the other luggage, which is correct? When I called again, I was suspended for a long time and said, ”I will bring it to the room because it is correct to pass it first,” but when the chime rings and opens the door, I was told ”I'm sorry” while talking on the inner line telephone. I was disappointed with the staff's response afterwards, not that I made a mistake in the room number. After all, there was no apology from the top until the end of the inn. I'm sure there was no report from my subordinates. I was sorry for the room I opened wrongly (because I was absent, I don't think I apologized to these people). I was very sad. The view from the room, the bath and the dishes were very good, so I would like to use it when I come to Miyajima again. Employees' training, reporting. I want you to aim at a nice inn from now on.

Good. As other reviews, it was a facility that felt a little old, but it was a stable and safe facility, and there was no mistake. The view is good, but if it is on the 3rd floor in the ocean view room, there is a disappointment because the ceiling on the 2nd floor is about 10 meters in front of the room. When I told him at the front desk at check-in, ”This is ○○ (my name) booked at Trip.com,” the expression of the veteran female staff became a little steep. And if it is another hotel, he immediately finds my name from the guest list, saying ”Yes, ○○”, but he does not respond like that. ”First, please fill in your name here.” It felt as if I was told, ”I'm in trouble if I call my name, please write my name on this paper, that's how our hotel is doing.” (There may be a story that my feelings are damaged, but it was true that the expressions of the staff became steep). It was a little disappointing. The night cruise was good.

JR This is a route-in series hotel about 15 minutes walk from Miyajima Guchi. Small 々 I arrived early, but check-in was smooth and I received ice service while looking at the sea and was in the room. There is a bed and a sofa on the tatami mats, and the TV is large. Above all, the Seto Inland Sea and Miyajima were desired because it was on the sea side. I could see the sea and Miyajima from the open-air bath in the large communal bath on the 1st floor, and I was soaked in the hot water for the first time in a while. I was also satisfied with the drink service including draft beer after the bath. Breakfast is from 6:30 to Hakozen + Viking. Although it is a mixture of Japanese and Western styles, the balance of the dishes is good, and I just ate too much. The view from the dining room was good, and the response of the employees was good as Hiro 々. There is also a shuttle bus to Miyajima Guchi, but it is within walking distance. However, the road has a lot of traffic for cars including large cars, so walk with caution. There is also a direct oyster sales area and a convenience store along the way.

Sakuraya in Miyajima is a remarkable ryokan that truly captures the essence of Japanese hospitality. The highlight of my stay was the spacious Japanese-style room with a mesmerizing sea view. The traditional decor and ambiance added to the authentic experience, making me feel like I had stepped back in time. The location was superb, allowing easy access to Miyajima's attractions. The clean and well-maintained room provided a sense of tranquility and comfort. The simple yet delicious $5 breakfast consisting of bread, butter, jam, egg, fruits, and fresh juice was a delightful way to start each day. While the basement onsen had a slightly eerie atmosphere, it was immaculately clean, and the rejuvenating experience made it worthwhile. Overall, Sakuraya offers a memorable ryokan experience, combining cultural immersion, comfort, and a touch of adventure

Incredible traditional Japanese house, newly renovated with everything you need for comfort. The kitchen is extremely well-stocked for us to prepare our own meals. The garden is beautiful and you can enjoy ocean view and sunrise from the house, there’s even a blooming Cherry Blossom tree in the garden. Just a tip to keep the sliding doors closed properly because mosquitoes do get in. Couldn’t have asked for a better stay.

Although there was no mention on the official website, smoking is allowed on the terrace of the room. I don't like the smell of cigarettes, and this time I was traveling with my child, so when I found out that smoking was allowed, I thought about canceling, but it was already the time when a cancellation fee would be charged, so I gave up. When I was bathing in the open-air bath on the terrace, the smell of cigarette smoke from the neighboring room's terrace was indescribably disgusting. (The fact that you can smoke on the terrace should be clearly stated on your website, etc.) Luckily, the smell of cigarettes was only once, and after that I was able to enjoy the bath comfortably. The open-air bath in the room is very comfortable. The view of the sea during the daytime is also wonderful, but it was nice to take a bath in the middle of the night while looking at the stars. The public bath was good, but I was worried about the smell of the hot water, probably because of the circulation. I also enjoyed the food at the buffet. The live kitchen steak was delicious and the sashimi was fresh. There was an Onomichi ramen corner at night and an udon corner in the morning. The pajamas (black in-house wear) are only one size for adults and not for children, so I put on only the tops like a dress, but I think some people should bring their own. It seems that the number of yukata for children is small. I would like to stay again if there is no smoking on the terrace.

Near the pier, up a hill, the environment is quiet, the bathhouse is not big, and fortunately there are not many people. The breakfast is exquisite. Some of the waiters are from Taiwan, so communication is no problem. From the rooms on the sixth floor of the hotel, you can see the old ruins of Miyao Castle on the key mountain (the site of the Itsukushima Battle), and you can see the large torii gate from the side, and the view is acceptable.

If you ca n’t find the hotel name, you can see the photo below. After the hem ferry, let the hotel call the hotel at the information desk. It will send a car to pick you up. The neighborhood is large, with an indoor balcony, the bathroom is separated from the wet and dry, facing the sea, and the facilities are a bit dated. Dinner is the kind of kaiseki that is scheduled in the restaurant in advance, but each dish is super mini. Even the plate is not as big as a woman's palm. The dishes are as small as half a mouthful and the taste is not enough. It ’s only half a bowl of miso soup to fill up with the last bowl of rice. Girls are okay, men are not full. Fortunately, a small shop in the lobby has snacks and instant noodles, but it ’s full because there ’s no shop. Breakfast seems better than dinner. There is a small soup to make.

This is definitely the best service hotel in Japan. Everyone knows that Japan's service attitude has always been good. This is a bit of a good time. As long as you see the waiter, you will smile and say hello! You can try it for dinner, and the meal is very rich! The hot springs in the hotel are not a bit boring in the open air, but the bubbles are not bad. There are a bunch of deer at the door~... You can call the hotel at the Miyajima Pier. If you want to go to the shrine, you can call the hotel to send you. Room we are on the fourth floor, sea view is OK!

I arrived late on my arrival day and the staff told me they are closing the door 24.00 pm. It was quite a walk from the ferry terminal to the hotel (i guess about 20 min. walk with my luggage). Later i found out they have a free shuttle service -.- . Anyway staff at the reception and in the dining room were very nice and the room was ok. Everything clean as expected and a small Miyajima souvenir are waiting to be eaten^^. The bath area was small and good, as was the air in general on that island. After chek in you get a yukata and the key to your room. One thing i felt sorry about; Staff worked until 24.00pm, just to start working again at 5 a.m. .Thats not ok. As a result, an email i send earlier about changing my room was overseen. I am not mad about it, since i arrived late anyway. But for gods sake, let the staff at least get some rest between the shifts lol.
