Hotels near Governors Island, New York

i would like to say Casa Cipriani really goes above and beyond to service his guests. i booked a room for my boyfriend's birthday, since he likes good hotels. upon my arrival, to my surprise, my room was upgraded to suite (without charging me additional), with champaign and cake. the suite is very very nice, with big windows to both sides (as it is at corner). all the staff at hotels are super kind and friendly. the friends we invited over all are very impressed by our suite and the club at 5th floor. jazz is really good too. special thanks to Stefano (director of front desk), Juan at the restaurant bar. Juan was very caring and thoughtful, made my normally a bit demanding boyfriend very happy. ohh, the mattress at hotel is amazing too. i have long term back problem. the mattress is perfect for me, firm but with a bit soft touch. next time i buy new mattress at home, i shall go check our which branch Cipriani has -:)

my room and the lobby were both reasonably clean and comfortable with very friendly staff. the shower/bath was a bit dirty (hair found on the side of the tub and prints on stainless steel knobs/hardware, but nothing majorly off-putting) and the window wouldn’t close once opened. maintenance service was graciously offered for the window when i brought it up, but my stay was so short i refused the offer. the only other con i can point out is the curtain length. i stayed on floor C and there was a gap between the curtain and the windowsill that allowed light into the room. maybe this design choice is specific to floor C or the specific room i was staying in, but it may be worth amending as it allowed in enough light to disturb my sleep and might do the same for other guests. overall excellent location with reasonable rates. car recommended but not necessary at all, there is easy access to public trans even for a first-time visitor to nyc. i would love to stay here again and would feel confident suggesting the hotel to others.

The hotel is located in Manhattan, where land is at a premium. It has an excellent location and is not far from surrounding attractions. The service is warm and thoughtful. The room facilities are new. Although they are not big, they can basically meet the needs. Breakfast needs to be ordered a la carte. The disadvantage is that coffee is not provided and the menu is the same every day, which is a bit monotonous.

before I even checked in I was already irritated. Jonathan the front desk agent talks to you in a very condescending manner. After simply telling him that someone forgot to sign on the credit card machine and was told ”...thank you for your interest, that's something that we handle.” First of all, I wasn't interested in anything except, being polite, just to let you know. 2nd issue, I asked to be upgraded to one of the terrace rooms, was told they no longer have them. And that I should've read the descriptions on the website bc it states it there. So as I'm standing there in the app I look it up and it doesn't have it there and there's also pictures of the terrace rooms. So, I tried to inform him that it doesn't in fact have anything regarding that and I was met with ”...sir, like I said, if you go on the website...” At this point I'm over it so I just ask for an upgrade with a view at least and the view was on the inside of the hotel, like for real? I ask for a view and you put me in that room anyways he finally puts me in a corner queen room. Remember this is supposed to be an upgrade 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th....12th issue No fridge(had to call to get one brought up) image attached No microwave Crappy little TV (I can't lay in the bed and watch TV bc I can't see it) and my eyesight is great, I don't need glasses or anything. And I literally have spent the last 4 hours to try and get the aspect ratio on the tv to change so that I can get some work done but bc the TV is so freaking outdated I can't. So not only did I waste 19000 points plus $175 on a hotel that has literally been one thing after another, after another. So, save yourself from the hassle and condescension from the staff and stay at a better hotel. I wish I would have.

Nicest access to Wall Street and Battery park to Statue of liberty. Room was quite clean , bed is soft and cozy. But,,,, stressful elevator always make people feel disgusting. Sometime it took 10 minutes to get on the elevator and no indicator turned on when I pushed the button so always unable to check the status when the elevator comes. The buffet is also poor and disappointing .I do not think this hotel is being managed by Hilton .I think probably it would be more comfortable if some tiny changes can be done .

Practically designed rooms. Friendly staff... Unfortunately, there is little storage space or storage space in the room. A hair dryer in the bathroom would also be helpful.

The hotel room has a smell, the building is outside construction, there is no scenery, the door face is too small to find, breakfast is a can sing coffee, but the advantage is that the service is good, it looks like a very traditional family hotel The price is also suitable.

I spent a week in NYC for a change of scenery and wanted a comfortable place with space to work. Sonder delivered. The apartment is fully furnished, even including a dishwasher and washer dryer, two things often unheard of in a New York apartment. The location is perfect, convenient to just about everything including multiple Subway lines and walkable to Wall Street, Battery Park, World Trade Center and more. Also part of apartment living—some noise from neighbors including music and barking dogs. The non smoking policy was loosely enforced, this may have been due to the snowstorm. A request to enforce this was responded to quickly. Although there is a person at the front desk, no doorman type services like package handling are available.

I have stayed in NYC countless times and the thing that has been consistent is that the rooms are small and the technology/facilities are antiquated. This hotel was very modern and the room was huge for NYC standards. I will be staying here on all future NYC trips.

The room at the beginning felt not very square, the front desk immediately changed to a higher floor, the room in the middle! Comfortable!

Came for a fun girls weekend and couldn’t have been happier with the location, amenities and friendly/helpful staff. It’s a super cute space, with fun decorations. The front desk brought us anything we needed. The person who made things extra special for us was T’Quanae! Thank you!!!
