The price/performance ratio is super high. The hotel is in a very good location. It is very convenient to go to Fisherman's Wharf and Chinatown. You can get there on foot. The scenery of the hotel is also very good. You can see the sea from the terrace. Highly recommended!

It's better if you live in a suite, because there is a kitchen for convenience, and there is an oven for pizza, and you can also cook pasta! There are stains in the toilet, which are urine marks. The hygiene is not very good! The location is also close to a supermarket in about 5 minutes! It takes about 20 minutes to walk to the business district! It takes about 15 minutes by subway, which is convenient, but there are not people cleaning and changing towels every day. You have to call for someone to deal with it!

Four Seasons at Embarcadero was simply not worthy of a five-stars hotel. I’ve even completed a survey at the end of our stay which not the general manager reached out instead the administrative assistant. After my message revealing it was a generic response from her, she ghosted right after. Do you think that warranted five-stars for ghosting a guest that just stayed at your property? No. Obviously they simply do not care, which was an utter shame. In addition to that, the check-in process was a complete mess (checking in twice on the same day), room wasn’t ready close to 5pm (despite being asked by their team a couple of days when we will be arriving) and customer service simply was not that of five-stars. Sure, the suite was lovely and so were the corner views but despite how well done those points were - without customer service and being organized and on top of your game, it didn’t warrant five stars at all for a Four Seasons property. For such a pretty penny, this felt like highway robbery.

Was here for holiday, chose this location as heard it is one of the safer areas. It was too bad, just that opposite the park there are quite of bit of homeless people sleeping. Location was alright, was accessible to Fisherman wharf, Golden Gate (took Lyft all the way). Around $10 to $25 per trip. Service was quite good, the staff was friendly and helpful. Even the cleaning staff was cheerful and greeted everyone. However for the room, it was not the best, not what i would expect of Hilton having frequent the brand in other countries. Unlucky as got one of the un-renovated rooms. Room was outdated. The shower is a one way, so you can't control the flow of the water. There isn't even a sink stopper to fill the tub. Overall because of the room, wasn't the best for me.

Hotel Griffon is a great spot near the Embarcadero, Ferry Building, Financial District and Downtown. It's a less expensive option than a few other hotels around but is small enough and intimate enough to feel very boutique like. The public area is small but nicely appointed and there's water and in the AM coffee and tea. Reception is shared with Perry's next door, well-known eating establishment which is great for breakfast, lunch, dinner or a drink. It's an old hotel and the rooms could use some refreshing to the furniture and the curtains but the beds and pillows (extras in the closet) are very comfortable, the bathrooms although small have nice showers and amenities, and there was plenty of storage in the spacious closet and dressers. Updated lighting and desk area had ports for charging electronics and there was good lighting in the room. The staff was very gracious and provided us with a note and a bottle of wine for our anniversary which was a nice touch. Location can't be beat right on the waterfront and walking distance to many restaurants and things to do around the area. Although there is currently no valet parking or onsite, there is a garage that is very close by, reasonably priced and safe to use. All in all we highly recommend.

This was the cheapest non hostel, private room hotel I could find in San Francisco. It's much better than other reviews suggest. I was pleasantly surprised. Room quite modern looking (better than the photos, off white wooden flooring) Clean. No bad smell at all. I stayed in a single room that was small, but I've stayed in smaller in Times Square NYC before so no big deal. Single bed was on the big side for a single. Very comfy. I slept so good. Cleaners never came but I was only there 2 nights. The shared bathroom was in good condition. I didn't see one other guest in my 2 nights there. Just some food delivery people dropping to reception. The local area isn't bad. I only see a couple of dodgy people outside. It's in Chinatown which isn't a bad area. Reception has CCTV and a night security guard. Honestly, if you are a solo traveller here you'll feel safe. Little donut/cafe/coffee shop next door to get breakfast. 20 minute walk to Pier 33 (Alcatraz), 1.5 hour walk to Golden Gate Bridge (or $17 Uber). I'm happy I found this place, I need my own privacy when travelling and this was perfect. I'd recommend for solo travellers for sure. Oh and dead silent of a night. I'm writing this from a motel in Monterey and the noise here made me appreciate just how quiet Hotel North Beach was. Just don't expect luxury but honestly, it's not a dump. It's a clean room of your own, safe and quiet. I've given it a 4 not a 5 because it's not perfect but certainly adequate.

If you love the experience of a European hostel with the comforts and convenience of an American lodging, this is the place to go. For starters, Space: the common room which I assume used to be a ballroom is very spacious and serves as dining as well.(btw, don’t miss the complimentary breakfast they offer in the morning.) the ample seating serves as a great atmosphere for meeting other people. While other people complain about how dated the decor is, I think it adds to the homeliness and novelty of it. Plenty of solo use bathrooms on each floor. And the beds are quite spacious. Location:it’s situated right next to Chinatown which is great for when you’re craving a quick Dimsum. It’s also a nice 15 minute walk to the piers. I would absolutely suggest using the trams to get to the west side of of San Francisco ie the bridge or presidio, but I’m a walker so it took me a good 1.5 hours which was a good workout. Staff: they were very friendly and informative as well as helpful so absolutely no complaints there. Security: I believe the doors stay locked after 1800 which require code or fob access. They make you wear a tag to identify you as a lodger which is added security. All in all a great experience, I would definitely come back here for my San Francisco trips.it’s by far one of the best hostels I’ve stayed in.

Amazing value central hotel, clean and well appointed. We stayed here for 3 nights over the Spring Break weekend. The hotel is a motel style with your own door. We found space in the car park easily. The amenities are good. The beds comfortable. The room was super clean. Housekeeping came every day to replenish towels etc. The location is great. 10 mins walk to Fort Mason and 15 20 mins to Fishermans Wharf. The location felt safe. It's also on the Big Bus tour route, which was handy for us and I would recommend. There is no breakfast here despite the TripAdvisor photo! It didnt matter to us there are lots if fantastic places to eat in SF. We will definitely stay again.

We were excited to find an option in San Francisco with a shared kitchen so that we could prepare our own food while there. The self-check-in scenario didn't scare us off but perhaps it should have. What follows is a lot of problems, but overall, the experience at the Kasa La Monarca was not terrible. It just really did not meet reasonable expectations of a hotel. Think of this hotel as an expensive youth hostel with private bathrooms. Our experience began with getting an update less than 48 hours before arrival that the elevator was not in service. We called immediately and were moved down from the 6th to the 3rd floor, but would not have been able to cancel as it was within the 48 hour cancellation period. We were assured that no other services were impacted. When we arrived, we realized that our bed was downgraded from king to queen, but were still happy with the shared kitchen offering. Unfortunately, the next morning, we realized that the oven and stovetop was off during the day, due to the workers fixing the crumbling wall that was the cause of the elevator interruption. Our room did not seem to have HVAC at all, as it was hot during the afternoon and evening and then dropped to very cold temperatures at night. We asked for an additional cover the third night to deal with the cold. They could not provide the extra cover that night, as their staff was already offsite. The next day when we returned to the suite, there was no cover, so we texted and were told to go to the housekeeping closet with an entry code - to no avail as there was no cover there either. It was again too late for them to deliver a cover, so we were promised tomorrow again. The next day when we returned to the room there was a sheet in a bag left outside the room, not a cover. It was again too late for them to deliver a cover, so we were promised tomorrow a third time. The next day we relaxed for the morning, and before leaving in the afternoon, I went looking for a staff member to ask for a cover. We finally got an additional cover halfway through our stay. Given the style of hotel relations to guests, you would expect their communications to be exceptionally good. However, they often have significant mistakes. One was a message confirming our check in time for the WRONG hotel, forcing us to call them to confirm that we were not rebooked into a different hotel entirely. The APEC summit was held nearby in San Francisco. Despite all of the local businesses having been provided advance warning of potential impacts, Kasa did not think it would be important to provide their guests any information. The front door lock is finnicky and results in many guests stuck outside for a while when they first arrive, unless another guest happens to be in the lobby to help them. The pictures shown online have either been taken with lots of additional light or photoshopped - not sure this is much different from other hotels, though it is also misleading. Because of the common kitchen

My parents and I enjoyed our stay at HUS. The staff were enthusiastic and helpful. They have an option where they can send you text messages to check up on you. The room was clean and organized. I would agree with other reviews that there was a slight smell to the room, probably because the building is so old. Nonetheless, the hotel was a good value for the money and the location was great! We bought the parking package online that included valet parking, which helped save us 50% of the parking costs. When parking, there are a few curbside spaces right in front of the hotel off of Powell St. We didn't know if we could drive onto Powell St., since the public transit rail goes right through the street, but yes, we are allowed to drive onto that street. Also, the hotel stay required us a $100 deposit that gets refunded when we finish our stay without causing damage.

Lovely hotel, in a great location, good access for the city, comfortable with great communal spaces. There is a (really) young lady on reception/check-in, she is lovely and I don't want to knock her, but she needs more training, her default is to say no to everything, not because she is being difficult, I just don't think she has the knowledge or authority to find solutions. It makes it frustrating for me as the customer and I'm sure, for her, trying to deal with people and not resolving issues. It makes you avoid her and wait for someone else to deal with. The Concierge and Valet Parking staff were brilliant, took away all the thinking on parking and restaurants etc. We would definitely stay here again if in San Fransisco

My room and furnishings were acceptable for my four day business stay. The room door has large gaps around it, though. This permits all hallway noise to be heard in the room. Worse, it allows all the ********* smoke into the room. My coworker was two floors up from me and complainedbabout the same issue I had trouble sleeping because the ********* smoke was so thick in my room. I stuck a towel under the room door, where the biggest gap was, but I had nothing to block the gaps on the top or the sides of the door. Without the ********* smoke issue and some noise issues, I would recommend Hotel Icon to male travelers.

I don’t know how, but people who work on the front desk either don’t communicate between each other or don’t speak good english. I accidentaly left a jacket in the hotel and noticed it the day after checking out. I immediately contacted the hotel and when they told me they found it, I arranged the postal service to pick it up and send it to me (even though I still don’t understand why I had to arrange everything instead of the hotel sending it to me). I had some trouble with the postal service so I figured out it would be easier if my friend that just arrived to SF picked it up for me. So they called the hotel, quite a few times. Every time the front desk would give a different response (first, that they have the jacket, then that they don’t, then that they DON’T KNOW if they have it….) and then the last: we have it, you can come pick it up. My friend came the next day and got yelled at, that they don’t have the jacket and how SHE DARES COMMING a month after I checked out. I have to mention that I tried e-mailing the hotel a few times, but it seems that they don’t check the only e-mail adress they have. Since it seems that I have to give up my brand new jacket (I live in Europe and I don’t know if I will ever be back there), this is the only thing I could’ve done. The hotel itself is okay, rooms and beds are just fine.

I used to be a frequent guest at the W SF back when it was Starwood but had not visited since Marriott took over the W Brand. I did try and stay last year but before arriving I read that the restaurant was closed and I asked the hotel what they were doing as an alternative, but they had absolutely nothing for Platinum Breakfast (other than 1k points per stay which is a HUGE downgrade), so I opted for another hotel. I had high expectations for this stay as I had previously loved this hotel, but as a frequent traveler in Marriott brands and having one of their Highest Elite traveler statuses (and staying at W Brands lately), I knew service levels were still suffering post pandemic. Unfortunately, it started low right from the beginning. I had confirmed a Studio Suite in advance. When I arrived, I was given a corner room that almost seemed smaller than standard rooms (Room 2109). I inquired about upgrades to larger rooms, and I was told no, because it was a busy weekend, and nothing would be available. I checked on the app and saw that every room type was available for the length of my stay and beyond. I was basically DOWNGRADED. Once settling into the room, then I realized the major issues. Smaller rooms should be easier to clean, right? Well, this one not only had carpet stains, but I quickly found out that the ”Marriott Commitment to Clean” was actually a Commitment to Ignore. Not only were their stains on the carpet and dust and dirt in the windowsills, I found a previous guest's room keys sitting on the counter. Obviously, the room was just ”re-set” and not inspected or cleaned at all. I guess the promised sanitizing was out of the question. We then went to get some ice and noticed that the ice bucket was half filled with standing water. It was disgusting! Thats not the worst part, I then found a pair of women's ”play-style” lingerie slightly soiled sitting on the floor by the sofa. I mentioned the cleanliness issues to the Front Desk, but the representative simply stared at me and then asked if there was anything else I needed? I should have been a bit more insistent that they take it down, but I was so shocked I did not. The room setup, although smaller than what I wanted and pre-confirmed, was also not great. There is no storage at all other than the closet. There are no drawers at all or other places to keep clothes or anything else. If you have two suitcases, you are going to have to keep them out as there is no place to put them in the closet. Other than the Front Desk and Room Condition, we had a nice stay, although the Room is really what we paid for. The rest of the staff we interacted with were friendly and helpful. The breakfast staff were great, and the food was amazing! Kudos for them for sure! Actually, the only place I was every recognized or thanked for being a Marriott Elite was from the hostess at Breakfast. The bellhop was also quite nice and helpful when we checked-out and needed to store lugga

The staff are friendly and mostly can speak cantonese. The location was alright, difficult to find on the first day. Parking in SF is generally expensive. Room was dusty and the sofa give me rashes. However, the walk from Powell Station has a street of homeless people which I feel unsafe for ladies and young kids.

The Hotel is older, but right on the Wharf neighborhood, and a store across the street for small items in a pinch/hurry. It has a quaint, community feel to it that is lacking in the more modern places. Many attractions, restaurants, and interesting shopping opportunities lie within just a few minutes walking time. Before the trip, I asked the hotel to provide me a high room that was quiet. They accommodated me in that request, as well as several others throughout my stay in a friendly, prompt fashion. Staff even went so far as to reserve parking spots for me at the very front of the hotel (I am disabled), worked with the disability scooter rental people to make sure my scooter was delivered to the hotel and kept in the office safely until my arrival - as well as to print out my boarding passes for the flight home along with an address label for a USPS package to be mailed! That was especially a great service, since when the mailman didnt come the next day, the Manager, Jake, took it upon himself to take my package to the Post Office to mail - and refused my offer of payment for that service. I am really looking forward to convincing my husband to take me there again soon! ;D

We stayed here for 5 nights for our 30th anniversary trip to San Francisco. We are from Texas so let me say that we were surprised how much hotels cost. We think this hotel is VERY basic but pricey to us. My biggest complaint is there is a constant leak in the tub in room 204. It is a constant drip that is annoying to listen to but more unacceptable to be wasting water!! I reported it twice and nothing was done. Some of the pictures on the website are misleading. Our room was not as nice as any of the rooms pictured. It was clean and comfortable enough. We had our own bathroom. However, there are no amenities. There are huge bottles of cheap shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. There was a bathroom mat for the floor. I am glad I brought my own toiletries. There was no hair dryer. I had to call the other hotel and asked one to be delivered. Thank goodness they had one!!! But what was very inconvenient is there is NOWHERE to place any bathroom belongings. There is no shelving or counter space. I put our toothbrushes in a paper cup. I had to set up the chair in the room by the bathroom door to place my make-up, brush, hair products, etc. So, if you are male and have little hygiene needs then this is ok for you. It would make all the difference to install a shelf over the toilet or next to the sink. The pictures show shelving, but our room had none. There was a window with an UGLY view of a brick wall and some equipment. Hardly any natural light (once again-nothing like the pics). You get a kettle with one packet of tea. No coffee. In the pictures, they show a lobby that looks functioning with coffee and maybe in use. No one works at this hotel. You let yourself in with a key card. There will be no one at the front desk. You will go to another hotel to check in and get your own towels. No one will clean your room unless you pay. All of those things were made clear before booking so we were fine with that. But it would be nice if they set up a coffee station in the lobby. Otherwise, the lobby is just wasted space. Let me say something good. The employees at the other hotel were friendly and accommodating with any needs. The hotel was clean, convenient and quiet for us. We were hardly in our room, so the location was more important than the ”extras”. We did NOT hear any late-night partying or noise. The walls are very thin so you can hear a lot. The floors are creaky, so we felt like we needed to be quiet. The biggest plus is the LOCATION! We were so close to the Powell Bart station (which you can take to and from the airport). There is a cable car station there as well. That will take you all the way up the hill to Fisherman's Wharf. Every mode of transportation will stop at Powell. We could take the MUNIS (the bus) or the historic streetcar as well. They have every route that will get you all over the city. We never had any problems finding where we needed to go. We also walked to a few local restaurants in the Union Square area as well. I was very h
