I posted this review on another site just after our stay. I was contacted via email about one of the issues, and offered points as an apology for some of what I reported. Thing is, three weeks later, those points haven't appeared, and my follow-up email was ignored. So, might as well make sure the review gets more visibility. I definitely did not expect to give this property four stars, and it’s really 3.5… Marriott lifetime gold, lifetime status on AA and UA, I’ve stayed a lot of top hotels. As a hotel, check the boxes. Very comfortable bed, room darkening shades very dark, silent - even with nascar getting started down the street that morning. But there’s so many of the small details wrong! For the hype and the rate, expected far better. - cannot turn on a light in the bathroom without turning on a light in the main room - could not turn off night light (eventually told to unplug it) - “reading light” is far from the small discreet light expected, unusable as it is up in the ceiling and bright - one chair, no way for a couple to sit at the table to eat.. and the chair looks like a desk chair - full length mirror can only stand 18 inches away - huge bathroom but no privacy for its use .. sliding door really? No exhaust fan. Cubicle approach is weird - shower is pretty, let it be more visible … but also, I can’t read the labels on the shampoo and conditioner without my glasses. The brand name is nice and prominent - amenity kit was open and partially used - “mini fridge” no space for your own anything just an honor bar - called butler for ice at 10:10 pm. By 11:15 i gave up. Never arrived. There’s no ice machine I could find on our floor but when it’s a St Regis should I have even had to go look? Really experienced no service. Stuff left outside room next door at night was still there in the morning, and I mean like 9:30 am - I’ve heard Tre Dita is a very pretty restaurant. We didn’t eat there, but wanted to check it out before leaving. Cannot even access the floor of the hotel outside hours. Chicago is home so I can’t say I’ve checked out all the hotels, but there are several top-end properties we've used for similar weekends in the city and been a lot happier.

Swissotel is awesome! The service was great and friendly staff. I especially appreciated Kia that works at the hotel. I was celebrating my birthday and she had something special sent to my room (a card and a fruit tray). She made my day - Thank you Kia! I would most definitely recommend this hotel! The amenities are amazing and the view is the best! I saw reviews stating there are no robes and no one came to clean and I can definitely disagree. There was a robe in the front closet and not only did someone come to clean but they provided us with warm towels! Best service and friendly staff!

The hotel is in an excellent location, very close to Millennium Park, Glitter Park, and the Art Gallery of Chicago. It is a 10-minute walk to Lake Michigan and the cruise ship terminal. There is a Cantonese restaurant near the hotel, which is very delicate and tastes very good. The net red deep pizza restaurant Giordano's is also nearby. Next to the hotel is a CVC store, shopping is super convenient. The hotel is in a good environment, the view of Lake Michigan can be seen in the room, the service is good, the room is clean. A recommended hotel

Candice at the front desk went above and beyond to make sure sour anniversary weekend was a special experience! Not only did she find a special room for us, but also sent up at one champagne and chocolate covered strawberries to make our night extra special! Everything was perfect for our special weekend- thank you, Candice and Fairmont— we’ll be back on our next Chicago trip!

My family and I arrived around 330AM on a Friday night/Saturday morning. Service: 4/5 The Night staff was awesome, hospitality was IMPECCABLE! From the receptionist , bellhop helper, security, you name it! I wish I could remember their names but the receptionist was a young African American male about early-mid 20s! The morning crew and afternoon crew need some pointers from the night shift staff because they need some work. Rooms: 3/5 Our room had 2 full size beds, they were nice and spacious for all 4 of us (3 adults & 1 child). No microwave was an inconvenience but it wasn’t too big of a deal since our short was stay. Overall I would rate our stay a 4/5 (Would have been 3.5/5 had it not been for the service we experienced when checking in.

Loved our time at the Loews Chicago! My husband had a meeting in Chicago and my 7 y/o son and I tagged along. The staff was beyond amazing. Everyone was so helpful and welcoming. The hotel was very family-friendly while still having a 4-star hotel vibe. We had a Junior Suite which was perfect for a family. Only funky thing was no window in our living room - but we had a nice view from the bedroom. Bathroom is huge! We had a large walk-in shower and big tub (which my son loved). Location is fantastic too. Easy 10-15 min walk to both Navy Pier and Millennium Park. Plus a Starbucks inside the hotel. Plus a Whole Foods across the street. We will definitely be staying here again when we visit Chicago.

We stayed at ES mag mile in October. There were 2 couples and since we arrived early morning I called ahead and paid 35$ to have a early check in in one of our rooms. Only one was available for that. We appreciated being able to leave our luggage, freshen up and do a little exploring. I have to say we were only able to do one complimentary morning breakfast since it ended at 9:30. It was fine and a basic breakfast. We did not have to wait long and there was seating. The evening social was pretty sp**** and really no more than salsa, chips and a few veggie sticks. Our room was dated but we had a comfortable bed and a pretty good view of the river from the 11th floor. Water pressure was low and the bathroom lighting was very dim. I did makeup in the room window for light. Overall the room was clean and mostly quiet( noisy neighbor) and we rested well. People were nice and as helpful as possible.

A family of three booked a suite, the room is more spacious, the sofa bed in the living room is also a good sofa bed after opening. Room decoration and facilities are relatively new. The location of the hotel is also very convenient, walking to Michigan Ave., Chicago River, Trump hotel, there is a supermarket downstairs, and I found it when I was about to leave the store. Going out and walking to different restaurants, including Chinese restaurant names, Niujiao Japanese barbecue, etc. The price is good. Insufficient: The service is average, I want a blanket for a long time, and I called twice before sending it. The service phone can't get through a little later in the evening. Another reminder is parking. Self-driving guests have a parking fee of 62 knives per night, which is quite distressing, but Chicago is like this. In addition, the room we booked does not include breakfast. There is a restaurant on the first floor that can be paid for to eat separately, and there is also Starbucks on the first floor. There is a microwave in the room but no tableware.

The Pendry is a beautiful hotel in an historic building situated close to restaurants and museums. They provided an exceptional guest experience, especially Muriel at the front desk)! When we checked in, Muriel asked if we were celebrating a special occasion. I told her we were celebrating my husband’s birthday and she upgraded our room. During our stay, Muriel sent champagne with a kind note, which made us feel very special. In the morning, Muriel asked where we were going and offered us directions and tips. Upon check in, all guests receive a welcome cocktail and a voucher for 1/2 dozen oysters at the hotel’s restaurant Venteux. The food at Venteux is fabulous! We also enjoyed the cozy bar where the bartender remembered our favorite cocktail each night. The Pendry provides a memorable

The small fridge in the room automatically shuts off after 2 hrs and doesn't stay at a safe temperature to store breast milk. The front desk advised to just use an ice bucket. This is problematic because (1) you will have to continually refill the ice bucket and (2) there is limited capacity. After an escalation to the manager, they offered to hold my milk behind the front desk in their fridge. I am not comfortable with that ”solution” nor do I want to go back and forth to the front desk for my baby's bottles and milk storage. He advised they previously provided medical fridges but they currently do not do so. I am so beyond disappointed. I expected so much more from this brand and now have to figure out something to do with my milk for my exclusively breast fed baby. Ugh, don't they have mother's stay at this property!? Marriott, do better!

The hotel has a good location, just beside Michigan Avenue, and convenient to all major attractions in Chicago. The hotel environment is also very good. It is quiet and clean. The space is large enough. There is sufficient hot water supply, but there is no hot water to drink. We brought our own heat The most distinctive feature of the kettle for boiling water is the hotel’s robots, which can deliver water and daily necessities, which are available on demand, great! We did not have breakfast at the hotel, but there are many restaurants around, which are very convenient. The waiters in the hotel are very good and the service is very warm and thoughtful. Our trip felt very good, the price was affordable and the process was comfortable!

It’s a nice hotel. The room was very clean. Check-in was no problem. Very nice to us. It was just the parking was a block and a half away. But we did find a parking spot on the street on the opposite side of the block. You can drop your stuff off in front of the hotel and check in before you go find your parking. Lots of places to go eat in the area. I’m not sure but I think this is part of Chinatown. If not it’s right next to it . We definitely stay again.

The hotel is located in a downtown area and is convenient for travel. The room is located on the sixth floor. The windows have poor sound insulation and the sound of car horns can be heard. Only half of the shower room in the room is separated by glass, and there is no door, so some water splashes onto the floor. The experience was not good and I will not stay at this hotel again.

We stayed for the weekend and were not disappointed. I’m one of those people that do tons of research before choosing a hotel. This one is priced well and is so cozy and welcoming. We stayed in one of the city view rooms which I would totally recommend. The night before I got a notification on the Hilton app saying it’s time to choose my room and I was able to choose a corner room with a view of the city on both sides and it was quite large. Being able to choose your room and know which one you’ll be in when you arrive is great. This hotel is in a great spot and only a few minute walk to an L train station for all of your transportation needs. The neighborhood is pretty quiet from what I saw. We loved the full size pump bottles in the bathroom of body wash, shampoo, conditioner, lotion and hand soap. The front desk staff was always welcoming and answered any questions I had. I would recommend the skyline room. We stayed in room 1815 and had a great view of the city. The only downsides were that the windows were quite dirty and the parking garage was tiny but I understand those aren’t necessarily problems that can be fixed easily. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and I would definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone else looking for a place to stay in Chicago.

Room was spacious with good sized bathroom. Check in was prompt and courteous despite arriving 2 hours earlier than expected. A big shout out to Carlos who graciously greeted us and was one of the finest front desk agents at a Hilton. He suggested 5th floor which placed above minor street noise. Hilton included breakfast was so so but not a surprise. Numerous restaurants were in easy walking distance of hotel. Would not hesitate to stay on next visit.

Strong praise! First of all, the pillows are very comfortable. The first hotel pillow allows me to sleep without neck pain. Secondly, the slippers and bathrobe are great! No need to call the front desk to take off your shoes. Next, the coffee machine has great reviews, lots of cups and lots of different flavors. The hotel room is very spacious and has a Bluetooth speaker. Very comfortable! Service: Very considerate, the front desk staff are very warm and considerate. Facilities: There is no dining in the hotel, there is a bathtub and shower in the room, and the toilet is very spacious. Cleanliness: Very clean and the bed is very comfortable.

The hotel is very clean and tidy. The biggest feature of the room is the floor-to-ceiling windows. The scenery outside the window is very clear. Although there is no bustling Michigan Avenue, it is still good! There is a bar on the 18th floor of the hotel, not big. The hotel has a restaurant on the left side of the hotel entrance, named Somerset, in the room can also book this restaurant in the room dinning, about twenty or thirty minutes to deliver the meal to the room. I really like the bathroom's minimalist wash suit, which is white tea, especially fragrant and comfortable. Shopping, dining and entertainment are nearby. Not far from there are Chinese restaurants, such as Imperial Lamian, Old Sichuan, MingHin Cuisine, Shanghai Terrance, which are just a few minutes from Uber. Royal chef and old Sichuan are very popular! It is also 10 minutes from the hotel to the famous scenic spot Michigan Avenue, which is also close to Navy Pier and Millennium Park. The fly in the ointment is that the sound insulation in the hotel is not good, the guests from the opposite side of the room can hear the opening of the door, but the overall is good!

This was our first visit to Kimpton Gray in Chicago, IL. My husband & I stayed for 2 nights (Friday & Saturday) & used 76k IHG rewards points (the price later went up to 122k, so book early!). ARRIVAL/CHECK-IN: We arrived before check-in, but thankfully our room type was available. ROOM: Prior to arrival, I called & emailed the hotel to request early check-in, a quiet room on an upper floor & possible room upgrade. Thanks to my Diamond Elite status, they placed us in a 1 King Premium Deep Soaking Tub. Unfortunately, they could not accomodate the high floor request, so we were assigned room #601. I appreciated the welcome amenity of Acqua Panna Natural Spring Waters & dark chocolate w/ sea salt. • Amenities: Coffee maker & mini refrigerator. You can request a microwave be delivered to your room free of charge. • Bath: Plenty of hot water & decent pressure. The soaking tub is divine! • Bed: Bed & pillows both very comfortable • Cleanliness: So so. I called housekeeping upon arrival to request the team vacuum our room & wipe down surfaces. I also requested a freshen up the next day. Both were taken care of! • Decor: Average. A bit tattered around some edges (see photo of mini fridge). I did like the accent wall behind the tub though. • Heating/cooling: Worked well • Sound: Mostly quiet. The hotel does appear to host a lot of events, so there were a few loud guests walking the halls late at night. • TV: Average; no movie channels that I recall • View: A building & street • WiFi: Worked well DRINKS/FOOD: • No free breakfast offered • Boleo was closed both evenings for private events, so we could not check-out or enjoy the rooftop bar. We tried to use our $20 raid-the-bar credit at Vol. 39 on Saturday at 8:30 PM, but the bar was also closed. Thankfully, a front desk rep allowed us to grab $20 worth of snacks. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Good. We especially loved being able to contact the team via text! Super convenient. LOCATION/PARKING: Prime location. Parking not needed. OTHER: • Note: You can not use the Kimpton $30 spa credit as the hotel contracts out their spa services. • No pool Would I recommend/stay again? Not likely for full price if paying cash* (vs points). *Rates in October for this room seem to run $467.31 - $556.54/night on a Friday & Saturday. Although location is central, customer service is good & bed soft, the hotel is lacking in 4-star amenities, particularly for a Kimpton property.

TLDR - They gave away our confirmed room, barely seemed to care, and basically did nothing to fix. Group of 8 friends from around the country came into Chicago to see Pearl Jam and catch a ballgame. We had confirmed our 4 double rooms, had our credit card on file, checked in via the app, exchanged messages on the app, and responded to an email asking if we were confirmed. So when we came at 5pm and they said they had 3 rooms and one them was a king (vs. two doubles) we were very disappointed. Carla the front desk manager and Dacquan the front desk staff shared there was a problem…they overbooked and every room was taken and booked in so we were out of luck. Neither of them seemed to care at all. We were offered ‘air mattresses’ (terrible, poor quality) and 20 vouchers for a breakfast that we came to find out had a 90 minute wait then next morning. They claimed to have tried to find another room at another hotel but didn’t show any evidence of it. No apologies, no sincerity just a ‘whoops sucks for you’. Terrible experience and customer service. Honestly shocked that this is allowed to be a Marriott property. Gold member and stayed at 100’s of Marriotts through my many years of business and personal travel. Avoid or know they will screw you over at any moment.

We got to the hotel at around 7am from Seattle and it’s our first time in Chicago. Overall the workers in the hotel they are so helpful and accommodating. Specially Anastasia and Enrique they helped us out with the parking and stuff to see in downtown Chicago. We ate at the bar that night and the bartender was so helpful. We know that he was busy but he was still nice. We had a good experience in this hotel and can’t wait to go back with the whole family. The location was convenient you don’t need to rent a car. The train is just there as soon as you leave your hotel. Shopping is just around the corner. The coffee at the goddess is a must. The bean is just a block away. A single room has a relatively small space and a general environment. It is suitable for one person to travel and live for a short period of time, and is suitable for people with low living conditions, such as students. There is a lot of traffic at the door, so you need to pay attention to traffic safety when going out. There are supermarkets, shopping malls, subway stations, etc. nearby, and the living facilities are convenient, but the sanitary conditions are average.

In Chinatown, it is very convenient for Chinese business travelers with a Chinese stomach. The environment and sanitation are very good, but there is no mineral water and disposable slippers, and the sanitation is only to make the bed once every 2 days. I stayed for 6 nights and did not do a lot of sanitation. The hair falling on the ground is always there. It is very close to Mccormick place, and it is a little farther away. For business travelers, this spot is perfectly situation along the Northeast end of the Loop, meaning that you can get to River North by foot and the convention center via the L easily. The checkin process was great, and the staff were friendly. I was surprised by the $25/night resort fee at checkin (the place aint' a resort), but the clerk gave me a free drink voucher and handful of free breakfast vouchers that I used at the coffee shop each morning, which helped reduce the overall shock to the system. (The coffee shop does a mean chai latte and is a nice place to work on a laptop if you're early for checkin.) The vibe of the hotel itself is pretty sweet. If you're into bright colors and neon sign, then this place is for you. The rooftop bar gets a little clubby in the evening, so if that's not your scene, then arrive when the sun is still out. The room itself was lovely and clever—I liked the sliding doors that separated the bathroom/closet area from the bedroom. Overall, would def stay here again if I'm back in Chicago.

This place is better than the typical big city motel/motor hotel, it is older but not worn. It was clean, no smells and no bugs. Hot water pressure was good, and individually-controlled central air conditioning worked well. The room had a table with 2 chairs, a separate small desk with chair, and the room and bathroom were plenty big not cramped. Despite being on a main street, it was quiet other than the occasional siren, and there was no noise from rooms next door or other guests outside. It was under $100/night with free parking, a bargain for Chicago. The CTA Red Line train is a 15-minute walk away, and we always felt safe in this neighborhood. There is a Starbucks and White Castle Hamburgers down the block. A downside is that there is no online reservation system, you must call. You get no email confirmation, just a credit card receipt upon payment, which is required at check-in, along with a $5 room key deposit. It is a basic room: no coffeemaker, frig or microwave oven, but there is cable TV. There is no Continental Breakfast, although it is listed on their website and on a sign on their building. The room has a standard double bed (not King or Queen), so may be too narrow or short for some couples, and it is a bit uncomfortable but tolerable. There is no elevator, but 50% of the rooms are on the ground level. If you want to charge your cellphone on the nightstand bring an extension cord, as the only outlets are on the side walls. This motel is just fine for a short stay in Chicago, as long as your expectations aren’t too high and all you want is a clean and convenient location.

Hotel is very nice and kept up well. The only reasons I have three stars include lack of parking, lack of towels in the room and lack of plates, bowls and flatware at breakfast. On arrival, the check in process was smooth and staff was friendly. We received bottled water. Parking was non existent. Apparently the hotel has only 20 spots for more than 200 rooms. They have no arrangements for off site parking. Though parking is at a premium in Chicago, this is ratio of available parking spots is not reasonable. It took close to 45 minutes to find a parking spot, in front of the McDonalds Hamburger University. In our room, there were no towels of any kind. We asked for towels and they were brought up promptly. Breakfast was sufficient, but at the time we were there, 9-930a, plates bowls and flatware were always missing and weren’t replenished for prolonged periods of time. The room with kitchenette and sofa bed was well kept and clean. It was quite roomy for our family of five. Only complaint was the loud music from a neighboring building that was heard by our room’s outside wall.

The rooms are medium in size and located in the city center. The surrounding facilities are complete, there are shopping malls and a lot of restaurants. For downtown hotels, the price / performance ratio is very good! Hilton's Samsung Hotel, but this brand can meet the four-star standard in China. I personally like this brand and recommend it!

The rooms are tiny and the bathroom is even smaller. When we walked in someone had pink hair at reservations. I know you can not discriminate based on a person's hair color but that set the tone for our stay mediocre and lackluster. I was very reluctant about booking anything with the word Inn behind it but being that it was last-minute travel and I needed to see a family member I bit the bullet and booked this hotel and I think I should have paid the extra coins for a better hotel. I did spend 250 a night plus 75 a day parking at this hotel and it was easily worth 89. The positive about this hotel it is conveniently located and close to everything downtown. I only recommend staying here if you are a single person of 1 otherwise you will be very uncomfortable in the small bathroom and room. My valet experience was very rewarding and professional

We attended the Chicago International Miniature show at the nearby Marriott O'Hare. Because that hotel was full, we booked the Springhill Suites. They ran a shuttle to the other hotel with a super nice front desk staffer driving. The hotel itself was fine and the free breakfast was above average. Parking was on long surface lots on both ends of the hotel, but there is also an underground garage. The onsite Outback steakhouse was a plus. Rooms were good, nice and quiet despite being near airport and freeway with a microwave and small fridge

Hotel is very close and convenient to O’Hare airport. Very spacious lobby area and enough staff to check you in fairly quickly. Hotel bed was excellent but room was a little dated. Electrical outlets are not three prong. Room service to 11 PM was helpful for a late arrivals. Always are very bright and decorative.Bathroom entry doorway is narrower than usual with a very compact bathroom.

Check in at 12 o'clock at noon to do pre check in, the result until nearly 5pm to get a good check-in, this makes me very puzzled, even if some of the host guests dragged a late check-out, it will not let people in a hall There is no room, the hotel did not give a reasonable explanation, just said that the room is not ready. Another point is that the checkout time of this hotel is very strict, check out before 11am, there will be late check out fee, about 150rmb.

This may be a 2 star hotel but the location is absolutely amazing! It’s only a 4 min walk to the station! The surrounding area has many stores including groceries and restaurants! Only a few Stations to tourist area. Room has great view and amenities are adequate, had everything we need! Price is very justified, Recommend staying here~

This hotel was great in proximity to Wrigley Field. It has an old, historic feel with modern touches. The room was clean and beds very comfortable. Rooms are quiet, albeit dated. The only downfall was parking to check in, and then parking to stay. You'll likely have to use the parking ramp behind the hotel unless you're lucky enough to find street parking: if you enter the alley immediately after the hotel, you'll need to do a Y turn to get into the ramp. One thing I'd like to see changed is that they don't fill the fridge with beverages (no room for late-night pizza leftovers), and a microwave in the room would have been nice. If you're looking for a room with all the amenities of a ”chain” hotel, this isn't it. It's basic necessities. I would stay again. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
