My mum, my daughter and myself stayed 5 nights. The hotel is lovely. The staff are friendly and definitely helpful! The breakfast is fresh each morning and the 3 workers took great care in the running of the breakfast and the room. The room is a little small but we always managed to find a table. The hotel is close to goodle tube which we took to different places like Camden market. There is also a Tesco near by with shops, bars and restaurants. There is even a very small play park behind the hotel. I will be staying again!

I cannot recommend a stay at this hotel however cheap or ideal the location may seem to be, unless you dont mind constant sewage smell from en suite shower room; having to bring your own bed linen and pillows (as those provided had seen better days); sleeping on a dirty divan; using shabby frayed towels with holes; or mind room fixtures and fittings that are literally hanging by a thread including electrical wall sockets and ceiling lighting. I would imagine the room we stayed in, given current state, might not pass an inspection given poor state of electrics. As a family we are used to roughing it a bit when on holiday, but this was a whole new level. Tired decor we could put up with, the pictures on the hotel website suggest a passable standard but what is advertised is some margin away from the reality of our recent experience. On a more positive note the receptionists are really very pleasant though and they tried to be helpful but they were probably students with little accountability and, given the state of the room we stayed in, the owner cannot possibly care that much about paying customers. A shame the hotel room we stayed in was so shockingly bad, as location was ideal for us and admittedly the front of the building is attractive. Trying to find alternative accommodation proved difficult on day of our arrival. At time of booking we ignored previous bad reviews of the Garth Hotel at our peril!

The hotel is an old-fashioned hotel in the UK for eight years. It is very old but very clean. It is very convenient to find a hotel with a microwave oven, and it is very affordable to buy some quick-frozen food in the supermarket and heat it up. The wooden floor will creak, the noise of cars passing by outside the window will be loud, and the voices of neighbors will be audible. But I belong to the one who knows that I don't sleep well, so bring my own earplugs, it's okay. I am thinking that it is not ordinary people who can live in this hotel in the past eight years. It is really high-class from a retro perspective. The location is also very good, I like to walk, so within 30 minutes walk there are Chinatown, Covent Garden Shopping Plaza, British Museum National Gallery, Kings Cross, in short, too much. Very satisfied this time, the price is reasonable.

We booked a double room. The bed was only 117cm wide, absolutely not enough for 2 people. When we complained, the receptionist refused to help us, because the hotel was fully booked-she said, but she promised us that from the next day they will have bigger room, just ask for it from her collegue. Of course we did, but we got the same answer... As we are not a couple, one of is needed to sleep on the floor... The staff was absolutely not helpful. The toilet was dirty and stucked, the basin was broken. The breakfast is very poor, fully vegetarian, no hot meals. The coffee is awful. Absolutely disappointing.

Very clean and comfortable, the furniture is new, and the decoration style is very like. The door is a bit small but the lobby decoration style is very British! The disadvantage is that because it is an old-fashioned British building, there are stairs and no elevators. It is a little difficult for our room to climb up on the top floor 😂

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel, after reading reviews on here. I booked a single room, it looked newly decorated , bed was very clean and comfortable, small ensuite bathroom was spotless with toiletries and plenty of toilet paper provided. The room had tea and coffee and even a small fridge. Only downside was there was nowhere to hand clothes or coats, and there was some dust on table surfaces and the skirting board. I don't understand why people have mentioned caravan toilets, it is a normal compact toilet in an ensuite bathroom. I was right next to the kitchen so was woken early when that started up, but otherwise fine. Breakfast included pastries, cereal, bread for toast, cheese, tomato and hard boiled eggs, yoghurt and hot drinks and juices, all very nice. Great for a night or two, given there is nowhere to hang clothes in that particular room, (I fed this back to the staff)and fantastic price for that area of London. I have seen others have said they had an old and tired room, but I think the hotel is renovating the rooms at the moment. I would stay here again if I needed to stay for work like this time, but please put some coat hooks or something in the room

The Residen is an ideal spot for travelers wanting to discover the city. The Residen is an ideal choice for travelers who want to take in the sights and sounds of London. With Euston Railway Station just 1km away and London City Airport only 15km away, transportation is very convenient. Being just minutes away from Goodge Street Metro Station allows guests to explore the city with ease. There is no shortage of things to see in the area, with the Sondheim Theatre, Chinatown and Piccadilly Circus all nearby. This hotel makes a great place to kick back and relax after a long day of sightseeing.

Lovely little hotel conveniently situated near to Tottenham Court Road and Goodge St Stations. Our rooms were at the top of the house so a bit of a hike up to the bedrooms and we chose a very warm weekend to stay so a really warm night. However, not a real issue and nothing the hotel could control. Lovely comfy beds and a very warm welcome. Good choice of breakfasts from continental to full English. Well appointed tea and coffee tray in room with sensible size mugs rather than tiny cups Definitely recommend for a reasonably priced short stay in central London.

Would be a easy five star with an elevator: nice people, immaculate, great location. But there was some rough edges: * For the first few days we were there they seemed to be having staffing problems: clearing tables, making up rooms. But after a while everything settled down and it was great. * There were plenty of outlets around the bed, but only one at the desk which was used by the lamp. No USB outlets. If you go make sure your USB supply had a mains feed-thru so you can still use the lamps. * Mini-refrigerator freezer was a block of ice. Inefficient, but it did keep our drinks and meds cool.

This time I came to London and stayed at the Magnificent, the Fragmented Shangri-La, the Horse Guards and the Bulgari. The rooms in this 1,500-pound hotel had no highlights at all. I really felt like I was paying an IQ tax! Moreover, the air conditioner was very noisy, there was dust on the table, and even the pens had no refills. Several others have their own characteristics. Bulgari is not recommended.

We only went in for a drink and food, so I can't rate the rooms (we did stay years ago and everything was fine). Staff were friendly and efficient and the food was gorgeous, generous portions and so reasonably priced. I had scampi and there were about 14 pieces and all for under £10! We love this pub before gigs at Wembley, though my older friends dread the hill 😆

Great experience staying at this place, easy, smooth and fuss free. The location was excellent, 5 min walk from the train and DLR stations and a short stroll to the vibrant Greenwich with all its attractions. We particularly appreciated the little kitchenette as we cook all our own meals. The bathroom was nice, spacious and warm. We had all we needed for a comfortable stay and would stay here again. Great value compared to what's available in London.

We had to leave very unexpectedly, but did find the hotel a little run down looking from the outside. We had arrived early and the room was ready, but we could only check in early for an extra charge which we declined, as we were going out anyway so just left our bags in the car. The room was supposed to be an executive room however, it was like any other room we had ever stayed in so don’t know what was executive about it. Tea tray was a bit stingy with 1 packet of biscuits between 2 of us (1 biscuit each). Only 4 milk cartons, but plenty of tea and coffee sachets. The bathroom had nice shower gel and lotion supplied with plenty of towels but, also had blue insulation tape on the radiator and the ceiling above the bath was peeling it all looked a little tired. The room was clean and perfectly comfortable, but definitely lacked that added luxury that I thought we had upgraded to with executive. Maybe that was my own fault not checking exactly what the difference was between normal and executive aside from the price. Sadly, our trip was cut short with an emergency, so we never got to stay overnight or sample the breakfast.

Some hiccups during checkin. We specified in our booking that we have 2 kids. We even stated their ages. When we arrived, they said booking is only made for 2 adults. I showed them everything I have to prove my booking. They said we used a 3rd party agent to book (ie trip.com). The agent made a mistake and we should talk to them. (What???? ) But they will do me a favour and do the talking… ?? (Doing me a favour like I did sth wromg??). In the end they upgrade us to a family suite, adding that it could be for 1 night only, they may require us to move and bla bla bla….. Yes you upgraded me but so what! Your staff’s attitude is the whole problem. I used a 3rd party agent, but it’s a company you approved of. When problems arise you blame it on customer?! I gave a 2/5 for service simply bcoz of the upgrade.

I lived in this hotel for the first time in the UK. The experience was very good at the time, the hotel is in a good location and cost-effective, so I thought I would choose to stay here afterwards. I wanted to book a room in advance for the second time this time, but chose a lot of dates without a room. Later only accessible rooms were available. Think about staying alive for two nights. Because one of them happens to be a New Year's Eve, it goes without saying that the price is not cost-effective. The room I gave was facing the street, and I didn't sleep well after a night of noisy. And this time the service attitude was very average. Retaining luggage is also reluctant. The front desk was also lazy. In short, I won't come next time. In the end, a penny is a penny, and a willingness to spend money on Mayfair's Marriott.

The service was immaculate as all staff was friendly and helpful. The room was nice and had a great view. There was even a complimentary ferry directly to Canary Wharf. One improvement would be that on the trip app there is a photo of pool however this hotel does not have one. After booking we saw the picture of the pool and brought swim costumes unnecessarily due to this. Nevertheless, I enjoyed my stay and would both recommend it to others and stay again myself.

The bed in the twin room of this hotel is very big, and three suitcases can be opened side by side, which is beyond my expectation. Before coming here, I read the reviews that London hotels are small and similar to those in Japan, but much bigger than Japan. The guy at the front desk was very nice. He asked several times if I had allergies. I didn't understand at first, but he was very patient. It turned out that he gave us cookies. The cookies were so delicious! The breakfast is also OK. It is only a few minutes' walk from the Natural History Museum and V&A. There is also a Chinese restaurant nearby, Shanghai No. 10, which saved my Chinese stomach. Recommended!

The big bed plus a sofa bed, the sofa bed is generally comfortable, but the sofa bed is very wide, and it can be opened as a double bed. The front desk service is very good, and they will greet you when you enter and leave. The restaurant service is also very good. The freshly squeezed orange juice for breakfast is good, and it costs 4 pounds per cup in the Oxford restaurant. The room is cleaned every day, and supplies for multiple people are provided. It is highly recommended. It takes 15 minutes to walk back to the hotel from the London Eye, passing by the British characteristics on the street.

The hotel is locked over night and the staff is really friendly. We were in the hotel trought the hottest days in history but they prepared a ventilator - because they don't have AC (normally).

We stayed at the Alexander Pope hotel last weekend when we were in London for a family wedding and booked three rooms, including for elderly relatives. Other family members also stayed as it was near to the wedding venue. What a wonderful and hospitable place to stay. All of the staff, from reception on arrival to bar staff and breakfast staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, even facilitating an early check in for one of the rooms so that we could get ready. Parking on site is a huge bonus. The rooms were very clean and comfortable with all the amenites you could need for the night and we had lovely river views. Great location too! Thank you! One small thing (but a big one if you are older or have any sight impairment) : The lighting in the rooms is lovely and atmospheric but it would be really helpful to also have a brighter practical ceiling light that could be switched on too as some of our party struggled a little to see in the room at night.

I stay with the IHG group every week and one hotel stay rolls into another. However tonight's stay deserves a positive review thanks to young man on reception called Joshua. I arrived at the hotel extremely early, just after 14:00 and understandly my room was not yet ready. Joshua gave me a drinks voucher and set me up in the downstairs bar / restaurant. It's comfy and quiet down there and I was able to get on with some work. Once my room was ready I discovered that I had been upgraded which was a pleasant surprise. Then later in the evening Joshua was kind enough to bring me up a fan along with a key that allowed him to open the windows. So often you're just another number, but not tonight. Joshua was friendly, knowledgeable, professional and polite. I will use this hotel as often as possible and recommend it to others.
