Berlin
|9.09km from city centerI chose this hotel as I was touring Berlin with a friend for a few days, but he was arriving a couple of days later than me. This proved to be a great option in terms of budget, distance from the city centre and proximity to public transport. Once you come up the steps from the U-Bahn at Siemenssdamm, it’s immediately to your right. The member of staff in the reception was warm and friendly and spoke very good English as my German is not very good after studying it a little at school 25 years ago. The room was large, very clean, and well-equipped. It was too warm for me, and turning the air con down didn’t help, but the window opens very wide. The bathroom also had a bath which was a bonus. The bed is firm which I really enjoyed, but I appreciate that won’t be to everyone’s liking. I’m sure I requested the room not to be serviced but the maid had been in every day. I didn’t use the TV but the Wi-Fi was a little patchy and slow at times. There is plenty of plug sockets including one near the bed. There was a soft light on the floor lamp and a desk lamp which was great. I had the buffet breakfast one morning, which had a great and varied selection of hot and cold food, this included cereals, bread, cold meats, cheeses, eggs, sausages, fresh juice, tea, and coffee. There is a supermarket across the road open till 10 pm, which was handy to get food for dinner. Yeah, it is quiet, and felt safe. I couldn’t hear any noise from any adjacent rooms. If I’m visiting Berlin in the future on my own, I will probably stay here again.

|4.5km from city centerThis is a surprisingly small hotel (just 13 rooms on each of six floors) but it was very comfortable, clean and perfectly located less than ten minutes from two different metro stations, in the middle between them. It's also near two local supermarkets. Front desk is staffed 24/7 and housekeeping is available daily but only upon request. The only issue I had was with the bath gel container attached to the shower wall not working (the pump was jammed). So I had to get out, wet, go find one I had packed with me from a previous hotel, and get back in to use that instead. A maintenance worker did respond quickly when I went down to tell them (phone wasn't working at the time either) and he confirmed it was broken, confiding that it was a manufacturer issue happening in other rooms as well. He replaced it with a new working one and all was fine after that. Still, I'd recommend testing that as well as the shampoo before getting in the shower, just in case, when you check in. My room rate didn't include breakfast (it seems most don't, in Europe, in my experience) so I cannot comment on the food. Daily newspaper was provided and there is one small working elevator. I would stay here again.

|8.57km from city centerVery convenient location. Right next to major bus station (i took flexibus direct from airport and it took40mins). 3 mins walk to U and S bahn. We arrived early morning and we were given a room, but we need to pay $20 extra which i think it’s fair. Contrary to some comments i saw, the front desk was fairly helpful and efficient. As expected , The room is small. All supplies and amenities are very very basic. Again this is as expected. Room quite dusty which i think can improve. Bed is not comfortable but this is reflected in the price. Overall it’s value for money. As we needed to commute to Messe Berlin frequently this hotel has made it easy due to its location We tried the buffet breakfast once. Adequate i would say. There’s a convenient store right next to bus station so you can get most of your f&b supplies there.

|0.51km from city centerThe location of the hotel is very very good and it is convenient to go anywhere. The hotel's facilities are also very modern and the furniture design is very innovative. In short, although it is a motel, it is completely different from the American motel, which is benchmarked against the domestic Atour.

|0.98km from city centerThe hostel is very dirty. All the surfaces are sticky. There is a terrible stench in the rooms, toilets, corridors and lobby. Things forgotten by the previous tenants are lying around until they are thrown away by the current tenants. Mattresses are stained with brown stains, possibly menstrual blood (I was in the women's room). The pillows are crumpled and terribly uncomfortable. The beds stand so you can't fully open the window to air it out. The lobby is very noisy and smelly too, apparently there is no ventilation or it is blocked. Absolutely not recommended, even for 25€ a night! It's too much for this place.

|5.93km from city centerI was scheduled to stay at the Econtel Charlottenburg but as this hotel had been taken over, I was rebooked into the Best Western on Kurfurstendamn. Good job I called in advance as nobody was going to inform me of the change. Though, I was quite excited initially as this promised to be an upgrade from a 3 to a 4 star hotel. Plus the location was more convenient for me. However, despite the location, there were a few items of annoyance about this hotel. Firstly, this is not a 4 star hotel. The cleaning staff knocking on the door at 9am is not what you want to hear. Secondly, the room didn't have a kettle or coffee maker. Thirdly, the air-conditioning system made quite a racket. Finally, and most importantly, the front desk staff were far from helpful and definitely suffered from an attitude problem. It just seemed as if they considered themselves above their job and that guests were more of a nuisance than anything else. Other reviewers have mentioned these things as well so it's definitely not just me. The Spanish restaurant connected to this hotel is solid with excellent food and very helpful staff. Maybe I will return to Berlin someday but doubtful I will stay at this hotel.

|0.72km from city centerWe stayed during Oct of 2021. We were pleasantly surprised when they upgraded us at check in and it was a very nice room. The room was comfy and clean. We stayed for 3 days. The last day, we had an international flight in the afternoon. When we woke up, there was no water in the bathroom. So we called the front desk and we were told that there was an issue and they were fixing it. We asked when it would be fixed, the answer was they did not know. They told me that the issue was only on that floor (we were on the top floor) and other floors had water. We had to brush our teeth, shower and get ready, so we asked if we can use one of the empty rooms on the lower floor to get ready. We were told that nothing was available and when asked what they can do since we had to get ready for the flight, the answer was they cannot do anything. So I got dressed and walked to the front desk and asked to speak to the manager. I was told he was busy and he was working to fix the issue. The attitude of the front desk was, it is too bad we cannot provide water in your room and no, we will not do anything to help you. I got back to the room and we were trying to figure out what to do, then the water turned back on. In the end, we were able to get ready and catch the flight but the experience with the front desk makes me think twice before booking this hotel chain.

|2.21km from city centerGood location, small rooms but basic facilities and clean. It is convenient to travel, there are many attractions around, and the airport is about 26 Euros. The room booked did not include breakfast, but there was a buffet on the first floor, 12 euros for one person. To experience the local breakfast in Berlin, we chose to go out and have breakfast in the bakery. The hotel helps to make a reservation for a taxi and needs to pay for the service. The actual taxi at the entrance of the hotel is not difficult to call. When leaving the hotel, it is a black taxi. It feels like being bypassed.

|1.09km from city centerHotel room was small and clean. Great quiet location.Large reception area. Will stop there again without hesitation. Will never book through Trip.com again. Both flights were cancelled. Ryan Air informed us for the departure so we changed to the night before arriving late and extra nights accommodation needed. The app still has us flying on the original date. The return flight was cancelled and the app stated we were checked in and even gave details of check in gate. This meant another night in a hotel and hundreds of pounds extra to fly the next morning. The app is useless. Book direct with the airline and watch Google as it steers you towards Trip.com automatically. The helpline does not answer the phone. Generic answers are useless just like Trip.com Please publish this!

|13.98km from city centerI moved from another cheaper hotel in Berlin, because this hotel clearly states that they have Air Conditioning. They do NOT. They have an evaporative cooling system that is outdated and does NOT work at all. In response to complaints they just say 'we are eco friendly'. That's fine - but don't say you have AC. If I pay 220 Euros for a night in a hotel BECAUSE it is hot and I want AC, it better have AC. Read through the reviews....the manage is more concerned that people give them an accurate rating (manager often replies with 'it's a pity you only gave us 1 star'. How bout it's a pity I couldn't sleep because it was so bloddy hot in my room?! How bout your it's a pity your website description is wrong. Even on the night in question, one of the staff came to the room and verified that even the horrible 'cooling system' wasn't working. The manager, Sasha Braunstein, clearly doesn't get it and doesn't care. It was a miserable stay and they literally have the gall to sanctimoniously claim they are just being Environmentally friendly. If your website says you have AC, you better have it. What an outrage. The earth is warming....get a clue, people want AC. I could camp in a park and it would be cooler than the hot, humid, stuffy room at the Pentahotel.

|4.41km from city centerWe arrived to a friendly welcome at this lovely hotel . Excellent room, well appointed with a modern ensuite bathroom . Breakfast was a well laid out buffet with plenty of choice . Staff were once again very friendly and courteous with pots of tea or coffee served at the table . The hotel was well placed for sightseeing Berlin and we would thoroughly recommend it if that is the purpose of your visit . The foyer has a unique and fascinating light display which is a lovely feature to watch in the evening with a quiet drink . We understand that there is a pool and gym facility but unfortunately we didn't have time to visit that section of the hotel during our three night stay .

|5.61km from city centerThis visit, our third time here, reminded us why we like it here. Although this time our room overlooked the street, rather than the S-Bahn tracks, the service and location were still outstanding. The Hampton is a short walk from the Savignyplatz S-Bahn station. The Uhlandstrasse U-Bahn station is equally close, but the U-1 line there doesn't directly serve as many popular destinations as the S trains from Savignyplatz. There's plenty of practical shopping along Kantstrasse to the north and higher-end experiences along the famous Kurfürstendamm to the south. Breakfast was very good with a wide selection. I grew to enjoy currywurst for breakfast along with little rolled-up pancakes. In the evening, the bar was manned by a parade of temps of varying ability. As the first, experienced barkeep eloquently put it, ”We don't serve food here. Only pizza.” Those pizzas were actually very good, and an excellent partner to the ever-available beer. That bar was also a great place to strike up a conversation with other English speakers after a long day negotiating the German language. The Hampton would be closer to perfect if it had in-room fridges and better ice service. A limited number of ice buckets are available at the bar, which is the only place to refill them. Every worker I encountered at the Hampton was friendly, much better than the standard German cool efficiency. I would be very happy to stay here again.

|3.58km from city centerCheck in staff are completely unhelpful and NEVER ANSWER THEIR PHONES. Took I've called multiple times for a copy of a receipt and they do not bother to answer the phone. I even called the AC Marriott next door and they don't answer either. My room smelled like mold was pumping from the bathroom vet on the 3rd floor - room 310 . Day one I found hair and stained sheets in my room. House keeping staff could careless, dished were left in my room for days and hair in the drain. Shower water is warm at best. Check in took 30 mins because other guests we're arguing with the unhelpful front desk about their own issues with their booking. I went downstairs one late evening to fill a water bottle at the water station and George rudely turned me away from filling up. I asked him why not and he said I needed to purchase a water bottle... when there is a water station. I went to the refrigerator to find a water bottle and none we're stocked. George went on a whole adventure to find one and didn't have any while I stood there frustrated with my water bottle in hand in my PJs. He finally let me fill up my water bottle because none were available. I would never stay again . STILL WAITING ON MY RECEIPT AND HAVE EMAILED CORPORATE and michael.fritz@precisehotels.com. I'd love a reply.

|1.2km from city centerFour things to know about this hotel before you book. 1. If you book early you will pay more. 311 euros a night booked three months ahead. 200 euros a night booked three weeks ahead. Look at any booking website. 2. On check-in they take the full amount of your stay from your credit card, plus a 50 euros a day deposit ”in case you use the mini-bar”. (In fact the mini-bar is empty - see photo). This might be a problem if you have credit limit issues. 3. They use sweaty, clammy poly-cotton bed-linen - see photo of label. You cannot change hotels because they have already trousered your money. To sleep properly we had to buy our own fully cotton bed-linen - see photo of receipt. The reason they use poly-cotton is explained on the manufacturer's website: ”Bed linen must be lightweight...thus allowing staff to work faster....Experience shows that savings of 5 to 10% can be achieved”. Nothing about the comfort of guests. The staff say that all Westin hotels use poly-cotton. Totally unacceptable in a serious hotel and we shall not stay in a Westin hotel again. 4. Because of the hotel's layout, most bedrooms are 50 to 120 meters from the elevators. In the course of a day you can easily walk a kilometre or more to and from your room. In other respects it is well positioned, if you wish to be in Mitte, the breakfast is good, and the staff are professional and helpful to the extent that the chain allows. Garden rooms are a very little bit smaller than rooms on the street, but much quieter and a few have a balcony.

|2.18km from city centerI can not beleive this is a 4 star hotel! From 9.-12. In May 2024, I was a participant in the meeting held at INNSIDE by Melia Berlin Mitte, and I came with my husband. The organizer offered only the cheapest rooms when booking. I contacted the hotel directly by e-mail and asked for an upgrade to a Premium room. I received several kind e-mails and arranged an upgrade without any problems, so upon arrival we had the desired room on the top floor waiting for us, for which, of course, we had to pay extra. The room was small, tidy, clean, but with a view of the neighboring buildings and their windows. However, already on the first night we noticed that the room was very hot. It was hot in Berlin these days.. On the second day, we checked the air conditioner and realized that it was actually on heating, not cooling! So we went to the Reception deskasking to fix that. To our surprise, the receptionist (kind young female – at that moment) did not call any technical service, but went to the room with us personally. In the room, she opened some kind of distribution box in the wall and turned something on and off, after which she told us that everything should be fine now. As we had responsibilities all day outside, we agreed that in the evening, when we return to the room, we will check the situation. She told us to contact the reception again if the air conditioner still won't work and then she would move us to another room. When we returned to the room in the evening, it was even warmer than in the morning - the air conditioner heated the room as if it was minus 10 degrees outside! We went to the reception, complained again and asked to be moved to another room. At the time, a very young woman was working at the reception desk, who coldly replied that there were no rooms available and that she could not give us another room. We asked to speak with the head of the shift...she said she didn't have one...at our insistence, she still went to a small room behind the reception, where we saw the same polite young woman who came to ”fix” our air conditioner in the morning. They talked for a while and the receptionist came back to us telling us that there are no available rooms and adviced us to ask again in the morning... No apology, no hint of kindness, not even an attempt to hide this superior lady behind the reception who did not even intend to come to talk with us, completely unprofessional! In the morning there were still no rooms available... no apology again…. We were forced to spend one more warm summer night in a room where the heating was on all night. ….. and we could not wait to leave this hotel! Although we felt insecure (there was a passage by the window through which anyone could enter the room through fire stairs), we still left the windows open, because it was unbearably hot. Staying in the room for which we had to pay extra for the upgrade was desperate! But the story does not end here! When leaving, we had an early flight, so the night b

|13.25km from city centerBy the time this incident happened, I have already completed a 4 days stay in the hotel and was willing to increase my stay. For that purpose, I went to Mrs. Hausweld and asked to please consult the availability and the price of the rooms for extra nights. In response, I was told that the final price, including the city tax for 3 additional nights would be 350 euros with breakfast included. Consequently, I was willing to go along with that reservation and requested to pay by card. Afterward, then Mrs. Hausweld offered me the POS terminal to go along with the payment, and the amount ascended to 419 euros. Due to that unexpected difference, I kindly asked for an explanation and was told that 419 euros were the final price, and if I was not happy with it I would need to leave the hotel immediately. As a result, I kindly refused to pay that amount and asked her to please consult the price for two nights instead of three. In response to that, the front desk manager told me that no more rooms were available for me and that I needed to check out now and leave the hotel. Following that conversation, I went on Booking.com and reserved a room for the same days, without breakfast, and surprisingly rooms were still available. Next, I went to the front desk and asked to please pay for my booking Mrs. Hausweld looked at me in an unfriendly manner and told me she could not find any reservation. After 5 minutes of searching, she could finally open my booking. Then, although I already provided a credit card in my booking, she asked me to show it to her because she was not believing that it was not mine. I answered that the card was in effect mine and offered her to have a look, but it did not have any numbers on it. So she got ahead to request me to write down my credit card details, including the CVV code, on a piece of paper as ”a security”. Afterward, I was asked again by her if I would like breakfast or not, despite I selected the no breakfast option on booking.com. A moment later I was offered the POS terminal to pay by card, which stated an amount 30 euros higher that the price I booked the room for on this site. Due to the reoccurrence of the same, previous situation again, I refused to pay and respectfully asked her why the price was higher again. Mrs. Hauweld answered in a very disrespectful manner that I asked her to have breakfast included and that I was confusing her again. After that situation, I kindly asked them to speak with her supervisor. She answered, that she had no supervisor and was the only person working in the hotel for the whole weekend. That experience left me in complete disbelief of her professionality and her being in that important role in the hotel. However, despite that bad experience with that particular staff member, I would like to note that the other front desk managers were very friendly and helpful at all times.

The downside, the room was pretty small for the price but the thing that bothered us the most was the first impression we got. |3.16km from city centerI liked most things about this hotel. The room was nice and the staff were doing their best. The breakfast was fine. The location is particularly good, close to Warschauer Straße and Friedrichshain. Unfortunately, the wi-fi internet was almost unusable when trying to connect from my room. It would work for a few minutes, then the connection would drop out and I would be unable to reconnect for an hour or so. This happened repeatedly and it was the same with each of my devices, so the problem was with the hotel’s internet service. I ended up using my own hotspot. It’s a shame because I liked the hotel otherwise.

|6.87km from city centerI have just returned from 4 nights at the Leonardo Berlin. I chose this hotel as it was the closest to my brothers apartment near Charlottenburg Palace. Our room was a comfort twin on the 4 floor, which was extremely clean and spacious. Tea and coffee making facilities, plus a free bottle of water on arrival. There was a an excellent selection at breakfast. Bacon , scrambled eggs and sausages most mornings. Full selection of continental cheeses, meats and salads. Pasties and breads galore. The ladies in the restaurant were extremely helpful as my mother has trouble walking, they helped her to a seat while I went and got breakfast. Overall an excellent stay and would recommend to anyone. We will be staying here again on our next trip to Berlin
