|3.98km from city centerStaying in the Pods is definitely an experience. The property is huge. There are lots of amenities and restaurants to enjoy. The food is GOOD. We are at the Sunset restaurant on the beach and room service. Very good. Breakfast was ok. We had a great time on the beach. We were there all day. There’s towels and you can order drinks. The public beach is beside the property. The only damper on our experience was several (3 separate) Chinese guests (we know bc we live in China and speak Chinese) chose to start recording us and staring at the infinity pool. It almost ruined a very enjoyable day on the beach. Overall it was a good stay, and I would recommend that property. Other guests should be more considerate because it’s rude.

Yet, KB hotel has surprised us with thoughtful services since the moment we were picked up in the airport. We used pick-up service (USD 25 per trip) and it only took 30mis from airport to the hotel. During the trip, cold towel, water, and snacks are offered in the car. The hotel is newly opened and quite convenient to the Otres beach. The staffs are friendly and professional, always providing us useful information like weather condition, food areas...etc. In terms of CP value, we would say it surely is worthy!

A make shift lobby had been made up on a room's balcony as the main lobby was still under construction as was the main building of the hotel. We had a bungalow type room which was extremely nice albeit not entirely finished (no hooks to hang towels, safety deposit box was loose in the wardrobe) but very comfortable and all with modern amenities. Very nicely finished and had a balcony. Bearing in mind we were the only guests it would have been nice to be given a room facing the huge and very lovely swimming pool (which we had use for ourselves) rather than a room close by to the main road facing a wall. No breakfast or drink facilities anywhere since the hotel was still under construction. As breakfast was included, we were sent every morning to their sister's 3 star hotel across the road where we were given a 3 star breakfast which didn't match what we would expect in a 4 star hotel. Hotel I guess will be finished for the summer and will certainly be nice then but in my opinion *********** should not have listed it open for guests.

|6.41km from city centerA fantastic experience made possible by the entire amazing staff of this wonderful resort. Tep and Dara were especially kind and generous with their time. Tep helped arrange an island hopping tour and even accompanied me on her day off. Dara took time out of his day to sit and chat with me each day while I ate breakfast, a nice touch for a solo traveler. Everyone was so kind and cheerful. They were all smiling all the time. I met the owner and immediately understood why. His kindness and care for the staff members was obvious in his interactions with them. That type of managerial style inevitability translates into cheerful and thoughtful service. I applaud this entire operation for their genuine care for each other and the guests. The attention to detail and care showed in the quality of the groundskeeping, housekeeping, and food service. (The breakfast service was incredible, especially the made to order noodles and egg station). I could go on but this place reall has to be experienced to be believed. And at this price point it is an incredible value for money. One more thing: the location at the very end of Otres Beach is perfect. The beach was very quiet and the traffic on the road was minimal. I wouldn’t want to stay close to the noisy dusty city center. This is way better.

On the way, I was very careful to explain the tour guide of Gaolong Island, which is very comprehensive. About 1 hour by boat, you can go directly to the hotel pier. The hotel’s beach is very beautiful, and the hotel park is also particularly suitable for taking pictures. There is no need to edit pictures at all. The scenery is very beautiful! There are also peacocks in the park, which the children love very much, and there are rabbits in the hotel introduction, but they are all dead after asking. The only dissatisfaction is that the breakfast is very bad, there is basically nothing to eat, lunch and dinner are all ordered in the hotel restaurant, the dishes ordered are good, and there are fast food fries, burgers and pizza in the park. Kids like it. Food, room hygiene is not bad, much better than other hotels in Koh Rong Island. This hotel is more suitable for a family to play, and you can see the mink when boating, which is very interesting!

However my”Deluxe”room was far from Deluxe & unfinished.Bare ciment flooring throughout which made the bedroom smell terrible all day /night after having a shower so I had to risk leaving the bedroom door open all day to make it bearable .No bedside lamp,no hairdryer,no cupboard to put your clothes away just few hangers,no safe,no internet in the room just outside but the bed is big and very comfortable and air conditioning is very good but at 85 dollars a night you are paying basically for the setting because the rooms barely make it a 3 *. They are building much more villas & the design is beautiful, I am sure once all finish, it will be a real success but at the moment you have to improve the food urgently, it is the worse I have ever had on holiday.Overall very relaxing and beautiful setting with fantastic staff,just don't eat there .The ice coffees are really nice though .

Otherwise, the accommodation is unfortunately not really centrally located. But you can get anywhere for 2-3 dollars. The building itself is an apartment building and is unfortunately still under construction. The room is simple but adequate. The bed is relatively small and the mattress very hard. But the bathroom is of course new and nice.
There was no washing machine or refrigerator.
As, like almost everywhere, the windows are not really insulated, you can always hear a little traffic.
Communication for checking in, as it is an apartment, is done via email or WhatsApp (internet required). Fast, effective and friendly.

I arrived as part of a G Adventures group, but had a week extra at the end and stayed here for the whole week as it's so lovely. Ferry link provided, 2 hour trip, and well away from the hustle and bustle of Koh Touch on the other side of the island. Restaurant on site with excellent food - prices about $8 for eve meal. Wifi only in the bar area, cold showers but it's so hot you need that to cool down, if you fancy a change then go to the local village 20 minutes away, Nature's Kitchen / Otter Bar by the river (the French owner feeds the otter!) meals for $8 or the locally owned shack directly opposite the new temple, just has a red sign with pictures of food no menu so just ask, the owner speaks English and lovely meals are $3, I hired a scooter from there for $10. Marielle the owner sorted the booking of my bus back to Phnomn Pehn, very helpful - thank you.

Food, beach, sea, pool everything was gorgeous. Any dish and drinks from menu was so much delicious.
Staff was so friendly and helpful.
It was really the best choice for such price.
Also I liked so much that can take for free some boats and kayaks from the hotel. We really had more fun there.
Also want to mention some minuses which maybe not totally connected with the hotel but would like somebody tell me in advance about it:
1) hotel doesn’t accept all cash. At our last day we need to get some changes and hotel didn’t accept my hundred dollar because there was some red stamp on it. As for me it’s so strange but I heard it could happen in Cambodia. But next day when we moved to the Sihanouk they accept this hundred dollar easily , so I don’t understand this logic too much. But even the hotel didn’t accept that hundred they still help us with some cash as for us it was urgent to buy tickets for early morning ferry.
2) and the biggest minus it was trip which we bought from the hotel: fishing +snorkeling +sunset+plankton
Never ever buy it! Safe 20$ for anything else. The most useless half of day of my trip was there. And what make me sad it was last day in the Koh Rong. Was upset that spent last evening at this stupid way.
The tour is organized by tourist group “three brothers “ and the hotel sell it. Could be nice if they tell from beginning that this trip is a total 💩and don’t allow spoil vocation of there customers. But anyway nobody force us to buy it so can’t totally blame hotel, but…😢
So will explain why I such upset about the trip. We came to the ferry and boat brought us to another place where stay 3 boats . Than we change boat and a guy just give us that special mask for snorkeling and tell: ok go… but our boat was staying between 2 other boats so how I should go I didn’t understand. After we sitting and don’t understand anything for 10-15 min other boats left than we decided to go inside water. There was no fish !!!!!!!!! Maybe maximum 5 fishes!!!!!! We saw more in the hotel.than fishing: they didn’t teach us anything didn’t explain anything we just stop they gave us something as thing for fishing and just went to sleep. Than after one hour when one chinese girl almost start to vomiting we went to dirty dirty and over dirty long set beach for sunset. And we arrived there around 3:30-4! So should wait for sunset 2 hours!!!!! When we ask to put at least music they said: captain want to sleep… And beach was over dirty!!!! Than they start to cook some food gave some drinks, we watch sunset was beautiful ( because thanks God they can’t spoil sunset) and then we went to watch plankton. I was so exited about that and than they stop us on the middle of the nowhere and don’t tell anything. Where is plankton? Full moon no have plankton… how we know it? Why we still stay in that place 30 mint. I would like to know answers for all this questions but nobody gave me it… so was the worst time from 1:30pm to 7:30pm. If don’t Wang to spoil u day never go there!!!!

|26.98km from city centerIt’s simply THE BEST resort you can find on the island, thanks to its facilities and its position: it’s on a stunning private beach, with light blue water and white sand, and immersed in a flourishing garden that assures you privacy and tranquillity (but if you want to have fun, you can find a lot parties at walking distance). The swimming pool near the sea is also stunning, especially at sunset. The food is very good, and the staff is super nice, competent and helpful. Rooms are spacious, with all the amenities and a big wonderful bathroom. I would suggest to add more vegetarian options to the menu.

|24.62km from city centerContrary to most reviews, we actually have quite a pleasant stay at Orchid Resort, maybe also because we did not have high expectations. It is located right at the pier where we alight from the speedboat from Sihanoukville. Room and toilet were clean except that there is a sewage smell in the toilet, think there is no proper sewage on the island. Water pressure is weak too but I guess it is normal on the island. Booked snorkeling activities with Kamakazi (highly recommended in another review) and they are able to pick us up by boat directly at Orchid Resort. The only complaint is their check out time is 11am which they did not inform us when we check in so we had assumed it is 12pm like most hotels. Had to rush when we went to request for late check out at 10.30am (after we woke up) since our ferry to sihanoukville is 3.30pm. They did not approve our late check out request but they agreed to extend our check out till 11.30am after we said we need more time.

The linens were clean and hygienic, and the hardness and softness were moderate. I had a good sleep. The front desk lady also thoughtfully left a simple breakfast for me and sent it to the room. Although the location is a bit far in the mountains, it is very convenient to order food and call a taxi with the mobile app, so I didn't feel it was a hassle. I will stay here again next time if I need it.

Upon arrival, I encountered frustration due to poor English communication skills at the reception desk. This made the check-in process cumbersome and less welcoming than I had hoped for.
On a brighter note, the breakfast provided at the hotel was enjoyable, offering a variety of options to start the day off right. However, the surrounding location of the hotel proved to be unsatisfactory. Aside from the convenience of being a mere 2-minute walk to the port, the immediate area lacks charm and amenities.

The lobby was very spacious and covered with marble. The boss spent a lot of money. The room was very big, the bed was very big and comfortable, the facilities were safe, the room was very quiet, the shower was full, the corridor of the guest room was spacious and bright, the WIFI signal was stable, the air was fresh, and the hygiene was clean.
