Wife and I Stayed over the Memorial Day weekend to celebrate our recent anniversary. We have stayed at most of the Historic Williamsburg hotels and this one several times in the past. We love the historic area and it is so nice to be close and be able to walk around the area and to Merchant square without having to search for parking on a busy weekend. The Lodge is very nice and the rooms well appointmented and decorated. This weekend we paid over $400 per night. The most consistent and disappointing problem we encounter every time we stay is the mattresses are terrible. This weekend was no different as it was a king bed which sagged deeply in both sleeping sides and gave little to no support. My wife and I both developed back pain after the first night and it only got worse the second. Again we have stayed at most of the properties in the historic area and even the colonial houses and this has more often than not been a problem. I think they just don't switch out the mattresses for new ones often enough and they get very worn and uncomfortable. We love the historic area very much and always enjoy our walks through the area, but this might be the last time we stay at a colonial property. You would think being a Marriott property it would be better now, but it is not.

We stayed at the Williamsburg Lodge over Memorial Day weekend and were very pleased with our accommodations. We were in Custis, and the building was very quiet. The room was large and very clean, as was the bathroom, the bed was comfy, there was coffee in the room as well as a refrigerator. There wasn't any valet parking, but that was fine. There is parking right across the street from the Lodge, and an attached parking garage was also available. Security to all the outlying buildings was very good. No key, no entry!

We spent 2 nights in the Lewis colonial house, which turned out to be perfect for our family of 3 adults and 3 children: it gave us privacy and insulated neighbors from our noise at a very reasonable price. The small kitchen area has a microwave and small refrigerator but no dishes; the housekeeper kindly left us dish soap and a sponge but it would be useful to have the house stocked with those and a few dishes. The location of the house was excellent, very convenient to everything. There was plenty to do and we'd like to come back. I'd like to hear more about the experience of enslaved people and free people of color in the early republic: more tours, performances, and also demonstrations of how and where they and other serving people worked. Where did they sleep? What did they eat and wear? What were living conditions like? More interactive and hands on experiences for children would also be useful. And throughout the dialogue needs to be captioned if not translated to be more audible/accessible and for non-native English speakers.

I have had the most amazing time staying here at the Colonial Houses in Williamsburg, VA. What an extraordinary place and excellent location... right in the heart of Colonial Williamsburg! We were literally in the center of the historical corridor at Williamsburg. You could literally hear the horse and carriages ride by as you sat there and relaxed. What a surreal experience!

We always stay at Greensprings Plantation when visiting Williamsburg. The unit we had this time was recently renovated with a beautiful blue/green palate. The kitchen and bathrooms were new as well. The unit was spacious and had a nice deck overlooking trees and the golf course. Check in was very easy and the staff was friendly. Greensprings is conveniently located near Colonial Williamsburg and Jamestown. There was a Target and Starbucks right down the road as well as other restaurants. Note that a car is a must. We especially liked the proximity to the Williamsburg National Golf course that surrounds the property.

The location of the hotel is good and the environment is good. The shower faucet in the room was broken, the gauze curtains were broken, and one window was broken and could not be opened.

This is probably our 5 or 6th stay here and have never had a bad unit yet. We usually get a two bedroom upstairs unit and this time we got a one bedroom unit. The only downside to the one bedroom is there was not balcony, which in the past with the two bedroom upstairs unit we'd have a nice balcony to sit on for our morning coffee or evening beverage. Even so, the Powhatan does not disappoint. I love having the pools, one side for adults and one side for those under age 18. Having no young children these days I do appreciate the quieter side and its nice to hear the kiddies having fun on the other side. We arrived after 8pm so there was no sales pressure. So my tip is: if you don't want the sales pitch just come in a little later and you'll miss that and the lines to check in. Although I have to say in the past when we've checked in early it was never a problem. Check-in has always been pretty fast and when I said I wasn't interested in the presentation they were respectful. I love this resort and we'll be staying here again.

I traveled during the last week of March with my 7 year old twins over their Spring Break. We stayed 3 nights in a KidCabin suite on the lower/water park level (Room 1050). I almost did not go given the recent reviews on this site, but we did and I’m glad we gave the place a chance because it exceeded my expectations in almost every area. Check-in: we arrived early at 1PM and tried to check in. There was a line, so a lot of families had the same idea. Each family got very personalized attention so the line went a little slow, but I appreciated the ability to talk about our preferences when we got to the head of the line. I explained my primary concern that the room be “recently Renovated” and clean. I was asked if we wanted a carpeted or non-carpeted room and after reading so many negative reviews about dirty carpet, I chose non-carpeted. I was told with that change that our room was not ready for us and that we’d receive a text with our room number when it was. No issue – we dropped our luggage back in the car and proceeded to the water park where we spent the next almost 3 hours. We then received our text around 3:45 and went straight to our room (we received wrist bands at check in). Check in gets 4.5 stars. The room: The room was relatively clean. The only issue was some Lucky Charms in one of the bunk beds between the mattress and the box frame and a lot of dirt in the trunk/coffee table which we didn’t use anyway. The condition of the room was very good – it all appeared newish with little or no wear. We were on the pool/arcade level which was convenient going back and forth. Our rear sliding glass door faced the parking lot which was convenient too because we were able to basically park outside our back door. I concur that the primary bed was not very comfortable but for me it didn’t disturb my sleep. Considering this was not the 4 Seasons, the room gets 4 stars. Service: For the most part service was outstanding. With a few exceptions, the staff were friendly, helpful, patient, and responsive. The wait staff in the buffet were awesome (the meat carvers much less so), the front desk was great and the people manning the MagiQuest counter were incredible. Only issues we had was the pool bar shutting down 30 minutes prior to their advertised time. The very disrespectful gent at the counter told me to use the bar upstairs (which requires shoes and shirt for service) because he was closed. I shot a *** note on their Williow app and got an unsatisfactory response that began with “Howl,…”. Room service doesn’t exist but anytime we asked for something using the Willow App (towels, coffee, etc) it was brought right away. For 3 nights we didn’t really miss daily room service. For service I’m giving a 4.5 which could easily have been a 5. Cabana: We used on of these on our 2nd day. Wasn’t worth it for us. One of the water bottles in our fridge was opened already, it was super noisy by the flow rider, the safe locking mechanism wasn’t functional

Me and my husband stayed here for two nights in February 2021. It’s in a great location close to Historic Williamsburg, Busch Gardens, Jamestown and Merchant Square. Was very affordable and had a nice pool and a hot tub. There is a Mexican restaurant, Chinese Buffett, Cracker Barrel and more all within walking distance. Would definitely stay again. Childhood friends got together for a much needed reunion. We all 3 loved our stay at this Hampton Inn. The hotel was very clean and our rooms were both clean and well appointed. The beds were very comfortable. The morning breakfast was good as far as hotel breakfast goes and the staff worked very hard to keep it stocked and to keep tables clean. Saturday was extremely busy and they did a wonderful job of keeping everything stocked. My only complaint about the breakfast was that the toasters didn’t work very well. The hotel is very centrally located to Colonial Williamsburg and quite a few nice restaurants. I highly recommend this hotel.

The Club Wyndham Governor's Green resort property exceeded our expectations! Our week-long stay felt like being at home. Having experienced other RCI resorts in the past, we can confidently say that this two-bedroom suite was the best by far. The staff members were consistently professional and friendly, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere. The resort itself is stunning, well-maintained, and exceptionally comfortable. Our overall satisfaction with the stay was beyond measure, and we wholeheartedly recommend it to others seeking a top-notch vacation experience. We plan to return to Williamsburg next Christmas, as this resort has left a lasting positive impression on us.

Breakfast is just like that. Many ordinary hotels in the United States are just like that, and they barely meet the requirements. The location is not bad, two kilometers from the College of William and Mary. The room is very hygienic, especially the toilet, no need to worry. The bed was very comfortable, and I fell asleep when I was lying down. Only note: no slippers in the room, no kettle, you need to find your own way. Overall great experience!
