Reviews From Real Travelers
I had high expectations of Capella Sydney after staying multiple times at Capella Bangkok and being treated as though I were the most important person in the hotel, just like all of the other guest who stay there are. The attention to service detail at Sydney location unfortunately failed very short to meet my expectations. The booking process on the website was glitchy and the pricing was inconsistent, sometimes showing pricing including tax sometimes not without indication and only upon receiving confirmation via email from reservations was the price confirmed, which did not match the screenshots of the reservation when I placed the booking so I had to go back and forth with reservations via phone and email to simply confirm the accurate pricing for my stay. After creating an account to log on to their booking platform although the option of modifying the booking was offered, the feature did not work on the site, so you had to cancel the booking and book a new booking if you simply wanted to extend by 1 day. This is before I even arrived at the hotel. When I did arrive, it is of course, no small feat that the restoration of this historic building was carried out with the utmost respect for the architecture, from the flooring material to the fenestration and even the internal grand stair way was brilliantly retro-fitted with current code requirements for the handrail in a historically appropriate yet contemporary solution. The hotel does not have many floors, so I encourage anyone to take the stairs to experience the beauty of the restoration work. The recognition of the strong identity of the urban location and sense of place in Sydney’s CBD offers us a promise, an encounter, as the space of the possible. I wish I could say the same about the interior design. There was a real disconnect between the intent of the architecture and that of the interior design. The decoration at best seemed vague, and so for the guest experience, how could one of have a point of view about the effect of the design? The space of the expectant “possible” relationship I was expecting from the simple activity of stepping into Farrer Place’s south entryway marked Department of Agriculture, as local stories interpreting colonial history with ancestral elements of the Eora people by Waayni artist Judy Watso unfolded, or the sense of expansive freedom through the bronze Palazzo doors on Loftus Street into the latent quiet luxury of the grand stair was lost when I was met with the contrasting designs and colours of the lift lobby vestibule axminster carpet and that of the corridor carpet to the guest rooms, able to be seen in the same frame. Although an argument can be made about eclecticism and the use of curating a collection of exceptional vintage and contemporary objects this was not the case here, it read as a mismatched bric-à-brac (to borrow a Victorian word from the building time period that's true meaning in French means ”any old way” or ”at random”). This hap

We visited for my father's birthday and expected a lovely lunch but the whole afternoon exceeded our expectations. Kelly seated us and was so delightful and acknowledged the celebration immediately. She gave us the warmest welcome and was so amiable. Service isn't overly pretentious or stuffy, it's friendly and charming. Patrick our sommelier and Chris our waiter gave us equally unparalleled service. The food was next level but it's the service we received that I'd write home about. The recent renovations have been done so tastefully, finally we have an new icon in the city. Thank you Capella team for an unforgettable afternoon. Your team are a true jewel in your hotel's crown.

I stayed at Crown Towers Perth in Sep 2022 and June 2023. I also stayed in Crown Towers Melbourne in Dec 2022. Thus, the next logical move is to stay in Crown Towers Sydney to complete my experience in staying at all 3 Crown Towers Hotel in Australia. I finally did that. Stayed at Crown Towers Sydney from 3 Nov to 8 Nov 2023. Today is 8 Nov 2023 and I will be checking out shortly. I stayed at an opera king room which has views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Sydney Opera House. The room was very well lit and nice. Just the appropriate size for a sole traveller. I also managed to try most of the restaurants in Crown Towers Sydney except Yoshii Omakase which is so hard to book and Silks. I did not managed to book Yoshii even when it opened for booking. Guess too many people booking. I tried Epicurean for breakfast, dinner at A’Mare, Nobu, Woodcut and Oncore by Clare Smyth. I did not try Silks since being an Asian Chinese, I normally do not eat Chinese food when I go holiday. Got to try other food instead. My favourite restaurant is undoubtedly Oncore where I ordered the 7 course seasonal tasting menu. Superb. Woodcut was also good where I ordered their sirloin steak. Nobu was also nice as it completed my tour of all 3 Nobu in Australia having previously eaten at Nobu Perth and Melbourne when I stayed at Crown Towers there. For Nobu , I ordered the X Haku Omakase which is 5 course. The star of the course was the lobster. Overall I have enjoyed my stay in here. As Sarah Brightman is coming to Sydney in Aug to Oct 2024, I have already booked my tickets to watch her performance at Sydney Opera House in Sep 2024 and also booked a 4 night stay at Crown Towers Sydney again. For the future, I do hope Crown Towers Sydney can have a Crystal Club for breakfast like what Perth and Melbourne has. Also, hope to see more shops/entertainment areas at Crown and also a provision/gift/snack shop here at Crown Towers Sydney.

My review follows a long weekend with my partner at the Crown. We have both stayed in luxurious hotels and also those which are more modest both locally and internationally. We booked the Crown, because we were looking for a very special weekend, as part of celebrating our recent engagement. 1. The check in line was long and eventually, we were taken to another area in a different part of the hotel for what seemed to reserved for VIP's. 2. The bags took about 30 minutes to arrive, so if you need your bag or just want to have a rest, it may be best to take your own bag with you. 3. The breakfast on our first morning, was intercepted by the need to dine in a different more causal area. because the line was so long at the buffet, Epicurean. Whilst the breakfast was acceptable, it was far inferior to what we discovered on our second morning where we dined a bit earlier and avoided the long queue. The cup serving the flat white was cracked and service was just ordinary, no one clearing the plates, or offering more coffee etc. 4. As we returned to the hotel we thought we would enjoy a pre dinner drink downstairs in the bar overlooking the harbour, we arrived to be ushered to a table, but we waited for 15 minutes for a waiter/waitress to return, but they didn't. We left without the drink and when we commented on the wait and need to leave, there was no real interest in making amends or any apology. The staff were more intent on wiping empty tables and just not looking out for guest needs. 5. Room - the view was outstanding, but the service of the room was not conducted during the second day, despite us being out of the room for the entire day. We were certain the ”please make up my room” sign was on. When we raised it on our way to dinner, we were told, ”that surprises me” as if we were not telling the truth. No apology, nor acknowledgement. 6. The phone in the room was non functioning, making it difficult to make restaurant booking or request room service. 7. We asked reception to make a booking at Nobu on our last evening, to be told they could not make the booking and they would ask Concierge to ring us back. We didn't hear from concierge and made our own online booking at a later hour than we would have liked. 8. Generally, there is a lack of customer focus, no real understanding of how to communicate, use of empathy and pre emptying customer needs, nor a greeting to welcome or farewell. 9. We loved the location, but would not stay again. The level of care/service is incongruent with the stars attached to this venue.

Great location right in front of Manly Beach and all the staff are friendly. It was nice that you could check in at 10 am if there was a room available. However, the room condition is not good for the price. There is no bottled water and the only toilet paper is toilet paper. The mold on the bathroom tiles was also a bit annoying.

This is the cleanest and most spacious hotel located in Manly Main. The lobby and rooms are all clean and nice.

This is an experience!!! The room was perfect and large and comfortable. We did animal view room with a great Koala just feet from us. So cool. The tour of the sanctuary was so fun and the perfect length in time. Having continual access to the zoo was great and we did sections a little at a time as we were coming and going. The breakfast was really nice for an included breakfast. The views are excellent. Utilizing the bus and ferry to go back and forth to Sydney was simple and easy. I don't know if we will make it back to Sydney, but if we do, we will absolutely be staying here again.

Amazing Experience from entering the Zoo entrance near the Retreat. Staff were helpful in collecting our luggage from the car, booking us in and providing information re available Tours and Dinner booking. Australian Animal Room was lovely with views also over the City, Harbour and Bridge which was lit up later in the night due to VIVID. Dinner was really lovely and the Buffet Breakfast was probably the best we have ever experienced providing so much variety in catering for different tastes and Nationalities.

From the first steps in front door of hotel to reception area I felt welcome. This friendly welcoming professional attitude makes you feel like part of the hotel family quickly. My room was lovely and spacious. The bathroom was well equipped and the Dyptique products are tops. The observation lounge was comfortable and the drinks divine. Staff there is very capable. The spa pool and facilities excellent. I wanted to have the Sunday high tea and although the tearoom was full staff was able to arrange for me and my guests to enjoy it in the lounge. And it was perfect. Finally the ginger flower signature scent is relaxing and heightened my experience. I will always chose Langham first whenever I can.

If you want a “gossip girl in the city” experience choose the Langham! I stayed with my two sisters and we raved the entire time- the staff are fantastic, the rooms are so luxurious. Nothing was out of place or unseen too! All the fancy 5 star finishes were there. The food and drinks were excellent- I highly recommend staying in to dine! The facilities were excellent, although we stayed for only 1 night so didn’t get to make use of everything. My one recommendation would be to stay for more than 1 night to ensure you get to enjoy every aspect of this fantastic hotel!

The room is great! Clean and tidy, it is a chain of Holliday! It’s very comfortable to live in. The lobby manager’s fat brother is very humorous. The stay is very relaxing. The flowers at the entrance of the hotel are very beautiful. Buffalo is a small town in front of the east entrance of Yellowstone Park. It takes about 4 hours to drive. It is a little farther away from Yellowstone than Cody. But still very convenient!

I book Hampton Inn whenever I can because of experiences like this. What a great hotel. Honestly, the only nit picky thing I could even think of is the paint on the drain in the shower was a little flaked off. Everything else was perfect. Impeccable cleanliness, very attentive front desk staff, delicious breakfast, fresh cookies on checkin, coffee anytime in the lobby, comfortable bed, quiet room, very hot water, excellent warm color scheme, functional fridge, quiet HVAC, flawless wifi, plenty of parking, just all around great spot. Wish all hotels were this good.

Super super motel, intimate everywhere, check in very fast, the car is parked next to its cabin. There are benches in front of the door, with lawns and slides in the middle. There are also tables and chairs for picnics, barbecue stoves. The surrounding area is very quiet. Everyone sits on the bench after eating and watches the children play. It was as comfortable as going back to your own community. The bedding was very clean. The bed was very comfortable. And the wifi was very, very, very fast.

By the time I arrived in Buffalo, I was rummy from an 8-hour drive. The doors were locked at the first motel I stopped at. The location of that one seemed great, but I was too tired to mess with making an online reservation when I was parked right there in their entryway. The Rodeway had great reviews and the price was right. Don't let the chain name drive you away. This is really an old school motel under the Rodeway name. It is operated by a young, energetic couple who keep it spotless inside and out, and it is updated with appropriate electronic chargers, microwave, fridge, and TV. Outside there is a lovely pool and even a grill for those who'd like to cook their own Bison burgers. And if cooking isn't in your plan, there are restaurants next door and across the street. I am always on the lookout for a good old-school motel. They are hard to find amidst the plethora of chains. This one may have the backing of a chain, but it has the facilities and the feel of an old traditional motel.

Stayed here three years ago and was VERY pleased. However, it appears to be going downhill fast. Surprised it's still called Quality Inn as it doesn't seem to be supported by the company, no soap, no coffee packets, no cups, etc. Got a real creepy vibe from youngish girl at the front counter when we checked in. She didn't speak, just gave us dirty looks. Should have left then. Got to first room and there are barking dogs locked in (warehoused) next door that apparently belongs to owner-family. Got moved to another room. No soap in rooms so, later a family member / employee dropped off a bar of dial (full size bar from store-bought family pack). As there is no in-room coffee, manager said there is coffee 24-7 in the dining room. Yet, the lobby / office / reception was closed until 6 AM. Even then - still no coffee. The rooms are clean though. Linens smell fresh. The breakfast provided some sausage and scrambled eggs, (I think waffles), rice crispies cereals but, not much, if anything else. Still no coffee. Appears that all employees are members of the same family and, other than the manager, none of them want to be there. ”Unfriendly” is an understatement as they didn't seem to want us there. Same family running the restaurant - the food is quite good but, again, NO customer service. We were an inconvenience to them. We saw other potential patrons walk out due to no service.
