I enjoyed my relaxing stay at this resort. It began with a very nice surprise when I found out that as a Titanium Bonvoy member I was upgraded to an oceanfront suite / bungalow. (My stay was during quiet weekdays in a less busy season, so that probably helped also.) The suite was very spacious and had an amazing view of the ocean and sunrise. The breakfast was the best variety and quality I've had a hotel in Africa or the Middle East. Same with the dinner buffet. The pool areas are well kept, despite never seeing any guests using them. The bank machine by the front desk didn't work with my card, however it gave a great rate when I exchanged my British Pounds for Egyption Pounds. Most of the staff were friendly and great, especially the elite guest relations team who emailed me before my arrival and the managers who introduced themselves to me when they saw me on my first day. Housekeeping did a great job too (clean room, water bottles and coffee supplies always restocked, cute towel art), except for an isolated incident that was quickly addressed and rectified. The gym was the only noticeable negative, and was the worst gym I've seen at a Marriott resort property. Very little equipment, and very dated and worn out or broken. However, this wasn't much of a problem, because the coastal pathway is an oustanding place to go for a morning run. If you run to the west end of the pathway and back to the Sheraton, it's a 10k run. I also enjoyed going out to the end of the jetty in the mornings and snorkeling in the reefs that were full of colorful marine life. This hotel is very worthy of a 5 star review. Thank you to all the hard working staff who work hard to ensure enjoyable stays. I will be back.

Visited Soma Bay Sheraton for the first time, having experience with multiple El Gouna Sheraton visits. Visiting Egypt we always choose AI accommodation type, and have to say Soma Bay Shearton is perfect choice for calm and relaxing holidays. Rooms are clean and spacious, food quality and selection is really good, including good selection of fresh fruits in all main restaurant meals. Bars are well placed, easy to reach from all hotel destinations. Next to hotel there is small water park. May be because of January, when it is not so crowded in hotel, but also wi-fi speed was good and accessible in all points of hotel and beach, that is not so common in Egypt. Center of Soma Bay is reachable in a 10 minutes walk along sea shore, ( you can also take shuttle bus) - good destination for afternoon walk, also if You are looking for better prices than in in hotel shops. Hotel stuff is brilliant - from reception to room service. We were in hotel from Jan 6 - 13, stayed in the room 1211, and the guy taking care of our room, daily surprised our kids with towel made sculptures :) Also stuff in restaurants and bars were really nice - both guys in beach bar + entire lobby bar team, specially smaller guys. If have to mark some negative points - pools were cold, despite they were supposed to be heated, thus the small pool was the only one where you could swim. And smoking in lobby bar area - that was really disturbing, even more than too fresh swimming pools. Otherwise - thanks for great holidays and will certainly come back there!
