This place is 5/5. Fantastic location, super clean, great staff, big open room, lots of natural light and comfy bed. My only negative comment is the AC control panel light is SOOOOO bright, it lights up the entire room at night!

One bedroom apartment is spaciou, comfy, cozy and cleanness. Washing and drying machines are provided inside the apartment. There are a lot of free of charge parking spaces nearby the hotel. Receptionists are very polite and helpful.

Cons ...I chose this accommodation due to the pictures and facilities that were offered. I am most disappointed with not having a properly working gas heater in the apartment. I was expecting a log gas heater as stipulated but instead an old gas heater that has a fault in the filter and turns off. The other heater/cooler is not big enough for the floor space and took up to 3 hours to heat the room. As for the tiny heaters in the bedrooms that don't heat up anything. The bathroom lights/heat thing has one glob not working. The fan/light in the living room doesn't work. We tried as stated in the rules to turn it on. And yes we turned it on at the wall and tried the remote it came with. Motor needs repairing. As for complementary toiletries, four adults have to share one tiny shampoo and conditioner bottle and two small soaps for 3 nights. Lucky I took my own soap. One a 1/4 roll of loo paper as well. Not a big deal but for the amount paid, I should not have to bring my own loo paper. It took me so long to find cups, plates ect. That were spead out in diffrent cupboards. Put coffee cups in the cupboard above the kettle or even Maybe have them altogether to make it easier to find. I have stayed in some lovely places and unfortunately was very disappointed in this one for the price. This is a very expensive place to stay for very little. Coming from a warm climate to Ballarat and not being able to get warm is the most disappointing thing of all. No Netflix as stated, but a very old Austar set up. Lots of things on the facility page that definitely were not included. Perhaps state which apartment has what in your advertisement to help people make a choice. I thought they would all have the same amenities. At least the basics anyway. Paying almost $1000 for 3 nights I could have been in Palm cove for a week at Peppers Beach club. I might suggest to maybe put usb outlets in so travellers don't have to bring their own plugs. Pros... The only real positive thing was the main bed. Very comfortable and large. Was quite clean except the sheet wasn't on properly and wasn't folded under mattress as you would expect.

Immaculate, homely, faultless - right down to the variety of pillows. Can I find a fault? hmm, how about: there was no tray in the en suite shower (the main bath’s shower had a soap tray). That’s it. I will always avoid bnb’s but we had no choice this time due to our extra person. The photos are accurate, the process was seamless, our stay was quiet and lacking nothing. The location is a little out of town but two fifty-somethings and a seventy-something still managed to walk in, around and home again just fine. The area is dead quiet, close to lake, close to an IGA for supplies. Honestly, I can’t fault it. We had unit 1 for two nights, would definitely stay again. Unit 1 is 1st floor and up stairs. Be sure to check first if this matters to you. Parking is on site, not covered but fairly discreet from street (in a good street, we weren’t concerned about security whilst there).

Recently visited Newington apartments and was greeted with lovely decorations and furniture upon arrival. It was a comfortable and spacious apartment that provided great amenities. It's close proximity to the city centre ensured we were very able to explore the area during our short stay. However, issues arose as our apartment was meant to include 2 sofas but were instead provided with 1. The staff's response was to ”ensure we thoroughly check photos of the apartment before booking”. This shouldn't be the case when the description included ” two sofas”. Following on the poorly constructed bathroom meant loose handles and screeching showers when the water was turned on. In the midst of a pandemic there is no mention of any additional sanitary measures the management have taken to deal with COVID-19.
- Guest User
Apartment looks schmick on arrival but then issues started arriving. Came across two dead spiders. Toilet lid totally unscrewed on one side. Beds sag in the middle. Floor lamp didn't work. Kitchen tap wobbly. As another reviewer has said, the shower screams. Bathroom sink so massive, there's hardly anywhere to put your stuff. Skylights over the beds meant the room was bright at dawn. And one still had original sticker on it! Everything else - e.g. heater, microwave and fridge - were functional but it definitely wasn't worth the money. Don't recommend.

It's two or three kilometers away from the city center. It's like a resort. There is a reception at the entrance. It takes three to five minutes to walk in. The cottage, the first-floor bungalows in the townhouse, and free parking next to it. It was enough for three people. It was not so crowded. The door was open outdoors. It was not the same as staying in a hotel. It was good. You could sit at the door and watch the stars. It felt quieter than the hotel and no neighbors disturbed. Close to Shufenshan Gold Mine Town. If you want to go out for dinner, you have to go outside the yard to find it. On the walk, you do n’t have to go out.

Bigger room compare with other motel around. The whole area likes a resort style accomodations. Very close to Souverign hill tourist area.

We were pleasantly surprised with this place. The bathroom looked like it was recently modernised and featured a doorless rain-head shower. There was a lot of counter space to leave items on which I always find an important detail as well as a good size drying rack. As for the bedroom, it was a nice big room. There were plenty of power-points and a nice table for extra items. There was also a surprise view of the town from the adorable French arched window. We were pleasantly surprised to discover they gave us a room with a kitchen and living room so we managed to enjoy those spaces as well, which like the rest of the place was very nicely sized and modern. The only negative we came across was the temperature. Ballarat gets very cold and we found that we had to run both heaters (one downstairs and upstairs) to warm up the place, especially since it was a high ceiling loft. It would be great if there was more building insulation with double-glazing so this wouldn’t be a necessity but I guess until that happens you have to blast the heater as the heat just seems to escape. All and all this was a lovely stay and I highly recommend it.

I felt that the room rate was cheap for the quality of the hotel. The room I stayed in was pretty clean. The location was very good and convenient.

My sister and I enjoyed a visit to Ballarat and Castlemaine staying at the Goldfields both nights. It was finally great to get out of Melbourne after our never ending lockdown. The staff (COVID ‘tester’ and Reception) were very genuine in their welcome and made us feel right at home. The double room was fantastic with a great bathroom. The view of the golf course was exceptional. We enjoyed our travels during the two days and had a lovely meal one night in the restaurant. Breakfast both mornings was really good. The resort is wonderful and the staff amazing. Well done!!
- Guest User
Clean rooms, amazing view, and the best was the facilities. A table tennis and a wii, the kids loved this. You can spot few kangaroos around the golf course early in the morning. Breakfast had a gd variety of eggs, pastries and cold cuts. I would definitely go again.

The hotel has a long history, and you can feel the special cultural atmosphere as soon as you enter it. The elevator door still needs to be opened and closed manually, like some shooting scenes in the movie. The night of the stay, the front desk brother was warm, the service was thoughtful, the explanation was very patient and detailed, and said that the design of our passports was cool, from the color of the cover to the design of the first page. The dinner was eaten at the restaurant on the first floor that night, and they recommended red curry fish, which tasted very good. The hotel room is clean and tidy, the single bed room is booked, the heating is comfortable, the bathroom has a hot towel rack, which is very comfortable.
- Guest User
The hotel has a long history, and the decoration in the public areas and rooms is very retro and artistic, with many paintings. The elevator is still an old sliding door style. It feels good to live in it. Highly recommended!

The overall feeling is quite clean and simple, and the basics of living here are foreigners. The hotel has a private entrance to the gold rush park, you only need to brush the hotel room card can be very convenient, and there is no need to line up, a few steps away. However, the price is expensive. Fortunately, if you are tired, you can go back to the hotel at noon and take a break in the afternoon. There are not many types of breakfast available in the hotel, but you can have enough to eat. Watching the sound and light show at night, there will be a car to the private entrance back to the hotel. If you want to be cost-effective, it is convenient to drive to the nearest mecure hotel if you drive or walk for a while. A lot of hotels on the road for a long time.

We booked the family room and room has a balcony and also 2 bunk bed. Overall spacious room and look quite new. Overall clean and room comes with microwave too. But the soundproof was not ideal. Can hear kids from next door loud and clear. Breakfast was ok. Hot food like sausage abs hash brown. Cereal and simple fruits
