Wonderful hotel in downtown New Haven with a comfortable modern decor. It has the best location for access to a large variety of amazing restaurants that are either around the block from the hotel or a block or two from the hotel. An easy 5-minute or less walk up High St. will get you to Starbucks and Atticus, which is a great place to get breakfast or lunch (from 11 a.m.). All the rooms have a gallery-style kitchenette that includes pots and pans, silverware for 4, plates, bowls, glasses, a microwave, 2-burner glass cooktop, and a small refrigerator, which, although can keep items very cold, unfortunately cannot keep ice cream frozen. The bed is firm but its surface is softened by the addition of a plush mattress pad. Each room has a desk with chair, a small sofa bed with otoman, 6-drawer dresser, and a mirrored hanging armoire, which contains a small safe and extra drawers. Interestingly right next to the entryway, there is a recessed coat hanging hooks whose base is large enough to accommodate my Travelpro Platinum carry-on 4-wheel suitcase. The king room is very spacious. The bathroom has a large amount of counter space flanking the single sink as well as a huge amount of storage under the vanity top. A small hairdryer, iron, and ironing board, like most hotels, are also provided. The walk-in shower offers very good water pressure from a shower head, adjustable from soft spray to pulsing jets of water. Both the room and bathroom are covered by an engineered wood floor, which is softer and less cold underfoot. This hotel also has one of the best equipped gyms. Not only is the gym spacious but provides a great variety of workouts accessible via LCD screens. A side mirrored room contains 3 spin cycles and enough space for other types of exercises, e.g., mat Pilates, Step aerobics, and TRX straps workouts. Thick mats, a Bosu ball, and styrofoam rollers are also furnished. The hotel not only makes a great base to explore downtown New Haven but also Yale University and Yale Medical School. Its location puts you in the heart of downtown New Haven large collection of downtown eateries, all within a short walking distance of the hotel, some, like Jack's, Pacifico, Bar Pizza, and South Bay are essentially less than a block from the hotel. Courteous staff makes checking in and out a breeze.

Lovely hotel that exceeded our expectations by far. The rooms are spacious and luxurous with large beds, desk, comfy sofa and a well equipped kitchenett. The beds are possibly the best we've ever slept in and the robes are like being hugged by a fluffy cloud! The staff is friendly, professional and very service minded. We visited while on vacation but this is also a great place to stay on a business trip.

First of all, the location of the hotel is very good. There are many restaurants to eat in the front and back of the main road at the door. It is also very close to walking to various places of the university. Secondly, although the hotel lobby is not big, but set a lot of comfortable sofas, the layout is very warm, when I went, it happened to be during the mold match, the players from all countries were there to discuss warmly, there was a computer in the hall, I saw that people often used it, Sometimes it is really needed. Although the room is not big, it is not cramped. I have set a big bed room. The bed is very comfortable. I don’t know if I don’t feel that I need to get jet lag. Is it a credit to the bed? There is a long desk in the room, which is just convenient for me to deal with some work every night. There is a heating cabinet next to the sofa. It looks not good, but it is very practical. In this snowy day, I will twist and dry the small items that need to be washed and put on it. It will be dried the next day. It will be dried before changing clothes. It will be warmed up. I unlocked the new function. The service is just right, will not disturb me, will not be too enthusiastic, but when there is a need, can help in time, clean the room regularly every day, change towels, etc. (I saw some comments that foreign hotels do not provide these services every day after check-in)

Very very close to Yale, just next to the old campus, good rooms and facilities, front desk, restaurant, valet and other services are good, there are coffee and refreshments, the little girl at the front desk is good-looking ~

The Graduate at New Haven has a great friendly professional staff team who were courteous and helpful. Everything is kept very clean and efficiently run. Be aware that there is no restaurant in the hotel, only a cafe. That is probably the only drawback, but there are plenty of other places to eat located very close by.

Was in town for the weekend to attend a wedding. Everything was perfect 🤩 loved the hotel and town it was in. Easy to get to from the church and easy for us to attend the reception. Looking forward to staying in other graduate hotels

The last time I stayed at this hotel was in June when I had an appointment at a nearby medical building. At that time, I had difficulty showering in the morning because the lower border of the shower directed water out into the hotel room instead of back into the shower. I used every towel in the bathroom to try to mop up the mess on the bathroom floor and ran to keep my appointment. As I approached the room where my appointment was, I heard another woman explaining that she was late because of the same problem with the shower in her hotel room. When visiting the hotel this week, I was happy to see that the bathroom was remodeled with a sturdy class door leading to the shower. Unfortunately this time I struggled with water temperature and finally resorted to taking a lukewarm shower. The front desk sent a man to look at the hot water problem and her suggested that I run the water for 5 to 10 minutes before showering. The problems with showering are unfortunate because this is a lovely hotel, clean, nicely decorated, comfortable, and quiet. The staff are polite and ready to help. Since I am visiting the area for medical appointments, it is important that I bathe before the appointments and this has been a bit of a problem during my two stays at this hotel. I would try staying at this hotel one more time because I believe it has the potential to be a hotel deserving of a higher rating.

I just returned from spending 2 of my free night awards. Many hotels will assign the worst room when paying this way and this was definitely not the case here. Due to all the negative reviews I read, I was a bit nervous and called the hotel and spoke to a couple of people. They were very honest about what to expect. In fact, although it could use an update, the room was just fine (and I'm picky) and totally immaculate. I had white socks on and my socks were just as white walking around the room. Actually, I was shocked that it was so clean and there wasn't a speck of dust anywhere. Now to the best part, the staff. They are wonderful and extremely friendly and helpful. There never was a shortage of staff either. Every person I encountered had a smile on their face and couldn't be happier to help. I enjoyed just chatting with them. I only gave the Courtyard 4 stars instead of 5 because the rooms are not that large , they charge for parking and basic toiletries are provided. We found the location convenient for walking around during both day and evening. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

I’m currently staying in this hotel and just wanted to “pen” my review before I left and life made me forget to write it. This is a lovely hotel. First things first, I’m staying in a clean and well appointed king guest room with one of the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept in. The bathroom is large and clean. The view is nice and the tv is huge. The lobby bar/restaurant is great. I’ve had both of my evening meals there as well as one breakfast. Try the Margarita Flatbread. The bar tender on duty on Sunday night made me an On Point Moscow Mule. The front desk staff has been extremely friendly and checkin was fast and effieicent. I think this hotel has gotten short changed with some of the reviews below. This is a great hotel in an excellent walkable location. 5 Stars!

The Hotel Marcel was quite Modern and very aesthetically pleasing! Upon arrival, I could tell this hotel was full of charm and personality. I especially enjoyed my stay in a corner suite with a King bed. The bathroom was very luxurious and I felt as though it was something out of a magazine. Overall, my stay was very comfortable and affordable. If I had one gripe it would be that the interior of the room was very dim in lighting even when the lights were fully on (touch censored lighting was available). I wish more light was able to be in the room.

Do you enjoy finding semen crusties and chunks of someone’s weave on your bedsheets (UNDER the comforter)? Does fearing for your life as you sleep sound like a good time? How about men trying to get you into their car or approach you about drugs as you walk outside? If all of these things sound like your idea of a New Haven Horror Story Adventure, then the New Haven Inn is the place for you! Here you can enjoy an evening of counting insects that run across unclean, blackened carpet while you stare at your unworkable TV. Maybe later you can try to drown out the sounds of yelling from rooms and the surrounding neighborhood by listening to your running toilet that’s inside a bathroom that wasn’t cleaned since the last guest. Added bonus! When the air comes on you’ll have the freshest smell of cat piss in your room! Assuming you survive the night in a sketchy neighborhood with a door without a deadbolt, you can wake up in the morning to leave and have your Lyft driver inform you that this is a “************ motel” (which explains the sign on the front desk that says “if you are in the room longer than 15 mins we will not issue a refund for any reason”, and why men were soliciting sex from you). Finally, you will have a lifelong memory of the images of semen, bugs, and sex workers while you relish in the fact that you survived the absolute worst hotel in all of North America.
