My friend and I enjoyed our stay here last month. It is a very modern hotel (which is why I picked it) and our room was very spacious. Beds were comfortable and breakfast was quite good. The air conditioning was good and very quiet. The cold aspects of breakfast were good and plentiful, but we were not impressed with the hot selection, as they were only tepid. I had the scrambled eggs several days, which were a perfect consistency but never hot enough. The swimming pool (which we didn't expect to be open) looked inviting, but as we did so much sightseeing we didn't have time to try it! On our first night we arrived after 10pm. After checking in and doing some unpacking, we headed to the bar for a sandwich and a drink. It was 11.05pm and we were told that we could only get food if we ordered room service. We were hungry and so we did this. If we had been told when checking in that they stopped serving food in the bar at 11pm, then we would have gone straight down, We asked at reception the following morning about the Tourist Bus. We were told that we would need to go into the city centre to catch it. When we used the Tourist Bus we found that it actually stopped about 10 minutes walk from the hotel! We were also given wrong information about the local bus. Although we liked the hotel overall, we found that it was a little too far from the city centre for us.

Terrible experience. It was my wife's birthday we wanted to celebrate but experienced very poor treatment. Our room smelt like a sewage (and they knew the issue whilst giving the room out - see below). It was so bad that my 8 year old daughter got sick. The smell got into our clothes so we had to wash. One of the worse experiences in our lifetime. It was so bad, we had 2 nights reservation and we had to abandon the hotel at 8AM after the first night. We checked in, left our luggage in the room and went out for a dinner straight away. There was a bit of smell in the bathroom but we didn't think it was a big issue. Then we came back to hotel, it was a terrible smell, words cannot describe it. I first called the reception at 9:30 and told about the issue as soon as we entered the room and asked to move our room. Noone called and i called back at 10PM again asking what's happening and she said they were full (they did not bother calling back!). I then asked if we can move to another Melia in Valencia as the smell was unbearable. They said that they will send someone to the room to look at the issue. What's worse is that they knew this was an issue, as they sent someone at 10:30PM and the poor guy went directly to the source trying to fix it. They couldn't, whilst they were working my daughter fall a sleep in the bed! The technician was very helpful, he was trying to fix it but he couldn't do much, he then offered opening the window (we were at 22nd floor , corner room , yes we made a mistake to pay for a view too!). They said that if we leave the room for an hour, they will bring a machine and try to fix it but there is no guarantee (but we cannot be in the room whilst they were carrying out the work for some reason). This was past 11PM and i told them my daughter was a sleep, technician also seen her sleeping in the bed. Despite the open window and closed shower room it got worse. My daughter got sick in the middle of the night and threw up! My wife couldn't sleep much and we left the hotel around 8AM. We had a booking for 2 nights, used 0 facilities, we booked because they had a spa and nice pool. We didnt even have breakfast. What upset us was that they knew the issue, they did very little to fix it. What's worse, i complained afterwards, they asked me to send an email. They respond very ingenuienly offering some points for a hotel chain we were not part of! We replied back saying that this is not acceptable and they never responded back. There you go this is Hotel Melia Valencia for you... None of this is exaggeration and sadly true events. Would we stay there again? Not in million years.
