It was a very pleasant stay at Hilton Makkah Convention. As always expected from this hotel, everything was great starting from the reception and front desk team. Ms Hatoon Fattah and Mr. Amr Hassan were very professional, helpful and supportive. Mr. Mahmoud in the executive lounge was very decent and helpful and confirm the excellent hospitality of this hotel. The hotel has a great prayer hall with a direct view to the holly Haram and a shuttle bus to and from the holly Haram.

Excellent stay. I had booked through the Hilton app - two partial haram view rooms. Check in on arrival time was punctual and smooth - I booked with breakfast included. We were told breakfast timings and location on arrival. We were also told there was a shuttle bus to the Haram every three minutes. The rooms were spacious and the bathroom also very big. Breakfast was great included bakery, egg station, fruit and various other hot/cold items including sub continent options. We were looked after by Saddam - a really nice guy. Housekeeping was quick, efficient and very good - the staff were always smiling. We used the cafe on ground floor a couple of occasions for dessert or hot drinks. All very good. Bottles of water provided in room. Also get iron/board too with a fridge in room too. Also a speaker where you can hear azan from the Haram. The shuttle was very good - every time we stepped out a bus was there and always left without too much waiting. A couple of mins drive to the haram and then about a two/three min walk into the mosque. You could walk to haram from hotel if you wanted - about 10 mins. A bit trickier to walk back from Haram as it’s uphill. Marriott and hilton convention Centre hotels are all within walking distance and all shuttles from these three hotels all stop in same place so easy to catch any of them on way back and cross quiet road to your hotel - no need to wait for double tree shuttle although there is always one very quickly. Overall a really good stay and I would recommend it. Also a really nice entrance to hotel…

From check in on the 5th October which was at midnight by mr shakir at front desk. My experience has been par excellence The porters. Front desk staff were of the highest quality and extremely polite and helpful thank you Maher at concierge Thank you to the female duty manager who attended to to my requests. Sorry didn't get your name. The service at the zaffron breakfast lounge deserves 100 out of 100 Mr saddam husain. Your professional and your courtesy was the best I have ever received. Having stayed in numerous 5 star hotel's in the past. I have never come across the level of service mr aaddam and his team offer to their guest's Thank you mr husain and your team for the great service and hospitality Also not to forget the housekeeping team that attended to the 2nd floor Sadly will be checking out TOMMOROW 12th May Allah most merciful reward the entire staff compliment of double tree for making this trip to makkah the best ever Yusuf osman Room 201

The breakfast is ok, because I have lived before, so I know it is not as good as before, the rooms are clean, and the waiters are good, but the bar is really difficult to communicate, can I study English seriously? I feel like they don’t understand if you hurry up hahaha

Lots of refurbishment since the last time we were here in 2016. Previously it was good and now it is excellent ! Most important is its location which is near the clock tower entrance. You dont need to walk far to the mosque unlike Fairmont for eg.

Best location, perfect for those who wants to go to haram. Elevators are good comfortable. But wifi is a little bit slow, and with some of the stuff in reception I didn’t satisfied

Reviews From Real Travelers
We stayed at the Jumeirah for our Umrah trip. Our room was fantastic but we were so appalled by the dining service and quality of food. At breakfast, the service is terrible. The staff are unfriendly and unhelpful and the people behind the live food stations need to smile like the gentleman on the egg station. I asked 5 times for a karak chai from the start of entering the breakfast until the end; I was there for 1.5 hours and every single person I asked was unable to get me the karak. They kept ignoring and disappearing. In the end I had to remind the waiters how long I had been waiting only to be told it had run out. I was waiting for a very long time just to be told this! In the end someone did get me the karak but it was so hard to just ask for something so simple. Also every day at breakfast the tables are not set out with the cuttlery and napkins missing. Every time I ask someone for some cutlery as there isn’t any on the table and it doesn’t get replaced but again we are always ignored and have many times helped ourselves to cutlery from other tables or the station where staff store the cutlery. We got very tired of the service here and it definitely doesn’t live up to the standards of other 5 star hotels (except the hotel and room itself). The staff are very unhelpful and the kitchen staff are awful. Having come from a hospitality background, there needs to be more structure in your kitchen and managers need to stop prioritising specific tables. All guests should be treated the same. We came to the buffet dinner and we’re looking forward to a lovely meal however the food was absolutely awful quality. The lamb shoulder was so over cooked and dry. We have never tasted anything quite like it. I have attached a picture to show the quality. It was inedible. There were literally no staff at any of the service stations. We wanted some of the grilled meat and chicken and we had searched for someone to serve it to us and he took one handful of it and put it on our plates. That is not an adequate protein portion. The portion was enough to fit a tablespoon of meat. The options were so poor. Again, no table service and no napkins and cutlery. We had to keep asking for things that should have been there. We didn’t even have water bottles and the table next to us had 5 water bottles for 2 people. We were really looking forward to the dinner but it was the worst buffet we have been to for a five star hotel. Nothing was fresh and the dessert selection was terrible too. Definitely nothing 5 star about it. The pastry was old and stale and very sweet without any flavour. It’s such a shame at such a high price which does not reflect any quality at all. We were so disappointed with the stay. We were hoping to return later this year with our family but we will have to find another hotel as this is hotel is not at the standard to bring our family to. Your location, decor, room size are amazing but your customer service and quality of food really lets you down. It is such a shame as we were really looking forward to staying here again. Best, Umar Raza

I arrived to the hotel at 10 and the lady in the reception told us to go and do the Omra and come back to get the rooms, I am a gold Fairmont member which was treated badly. We came back at 2:30 and noticed that the rooms are not ready and have been told that the check in time is 4PM, however before one day of arrival they called me to ask me what time do I want the room to be ready. Each customer receptionist was directing me to another where this wasn’t practical at all, image I was awake more than 12 hours and at the end of the day each on just throws me. Then after having a fight we got the rooms finally, I get to know that one of the rooms is full of insects and the other room is noisy from the neighbors. When I called to tell the reception after several fights they changed both rooms, we had to wait more than 15 minutes for the escalators. Overall my experience with this hotel is really baaaaaaad and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. The only positive point was that it’s few steps to the Haram other than that nothing is worth it at all, even when you speak to someone from the receptionist they don’t reply as of they don’t listen and in my case I am a gold member plus trip advisor level 6, how if I was a normal guest what would happen. They made my day very hard and miserable

We had lunch at Atyaf. It was a great experience with excellent value proposition. It was two of us however we took lunch for 1 person and the food was more than enough for both of us. Ashar threw in some freebies for us without charge and food was amazing. Ashar’s customer service is amazing and Fairmount (Accor) group is lucky to have him. Keep striving and keep raising the bar sir. Well done

The location of this Hotel is perfect. Right infront of King Fahd. Entrance. We were upgraded from superior room to Haram view suite which was fabulous and CSR at reception also helped us in having connecting rooms. This made our stay simply out of this world. The quality of food and the level of cleanliness is an example for adjoining 5* Hotels especially the ones located in clock tower.

Umrah trip with family Mar 2023 Went there for Umra trip with family we were bit confused while booking this hotel since it is located a bit away from Haram (1.5kms), however, they have shuttle service with good reviews 1. Hotel is super nice, new and very clean. Checkin was super quick although we had two rooms and were given on seperate floors as they didnt had two rooms on the same floor. 2. Rooms were good clean and tidy on check-in. They provided all basic amenities like iron, iron board, safe, etc. However, the rooms service was an issue and i had to complain and ask the counter to get the room cleaned after requesting the staff for couple of time. 3. Shuttle service was superb. Evertime there is a shuttle standing at the enterence leaving in approx 20 to 30 mins. Drop off point is the bus station behind clock tower with hardly few minutes walk to the Haram. 4. Even if you use Taxi it usually charges 15 riyals during normal timings and max 20 riyals during rush hours. We mostly used taxi service which was also very convinient. 5. Hotel location is very peaceful, you can find few restaurants nearby and baqalas for basic requirements.

Located about 10 minutes ride from AlHaram. Offering hourly shuttle bus to and from AlHaram. Reception staff are very welcoming. The hotel is very clean and modern. Furniture is new. The room is average sized but OK. Washroom is too small. Nothing to complain about. I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely put it a top choice for my future stays in Makkah.

It's a shame the owners know exactly what the issues are with their hotel but because they enjoy high occupancy there is no incentive for them to improve anything. Where do I start? The position of the toilet 3 cm from the wall, the shower that floods the bathroom floor, the staff who smile, say ”2 minutes” to everything but are utterly untrained for their role. The reception staff who send you to the wrong building and then just shrug their soldiers. Tatty rooms, noisy aircon. But the sheets were clean and mattress comfortable Thankfully we only used the room to sleep and shower for a short time. We were in Makkah Sharif so it feels wrong to complain but the owners and hotel operators are providing a below average service. This would not not be tolerated anywhere else in the World. Saudis are supposed to be good hosts but they have a long way to go.

I guessed the price is on the higher end due to the location in the clock towers. Other then that, dont expect a high end interior as the hotel has been around for many years. Outdated interiors with not so great furnishing. Breakfast was so so. Suggest that at that kind of price visitors should consider newer hotels around the haram. The only good part is the window is overlooking a partial haram view and the service crews are all excellent.

We stayed for a week. Overall, it was a decent experience although ultimately overpriced during Umrah. The room was relatively small. We were able to add a third guest at a cost of 300 riyals per night which was reasonable but only a bunk bed was offered and it took the minimal space available. The bathroom sink was clogged during our entire stay despite repetitive requests made to the cleaning staff and on the Bonvoy Marriott app. The food experience is however terrible! Iftar at the restaurant is extremely overpriced for 250 riyals per person and unjustified for a food of poor quality and not tasty at that. The scheduling was also hectic. Iftar was only from 7 to 9 pm and Sohour from 1 to 3 am; meaning if one wanted to attend Taraweeh, they would not be able to eat by the time they came back from the Mosque and would have to wait until 1 am to sustain themselves, which is ridiculous. We were therefore eating at the coffeeshop reception which was offering a buffet for 100 riyals per person, which was still overpriced for what it was. Only a few items were offered and not replenished.
