I was thrilled to experience Jamaica for the first time, and as it happens we were extremely fortunate to have our stay at Sunset at the Palms in Negril. From our initial welcome by Tobian on the concierge team, to our last day exit the experience was top-notch. I highly recommend the resort. Everyone contributed to our enjoyment and appreciation for the beautiful country of Jamaica and our lovely resort, but to add some specific names, we thank Tobian, who gave us our first impression of the resort's quality, Cleon, who was heading the concierge team for our stay, and Andre, Aldain, Sashana, and Tafari who were also a part of the concierge team and were always there to lend a helping hand; Kadian McPherson front desk manager, the sous chef Chef Myrie, also Chef Kenroy, Chef Fitzroy, Chef Sheldon, Mrs. Barrett, and the entire restaurant staff who made all of our dining experiences memorable and delectable. We appreciate Mr. MacFarlane and the security team for keeping us safe during our stay. Our thanks also to Ms. Allen, Mr. Jackson, and the housekeeping team for keeping up our accommodations during our visit. We learned so much during our on-site botanical gardens tour from head gardener Lynford, his expertise aided our enthusiasm for the lovely plants, flowers, and birds we observed. I was able to receive an impromptu swimming lesson gratis from Clavon at the pool, and my thanks to him for his suggestions to improve my fitness. I do not have names, but thank you to the gentlemen and ladies who staffed poolside bar, especially the gentleman working the day of 7 August 2022. Also thank you to the other bartenders who also provided us with lovely beverage concoctions. On our excursions to YS Falls and Black River (highly recommended) our driver Mr. Sinclair was a literal fount of knowledge, not only providing a singularly smooth ride, but also giving us detailed information about the parishes and towns we passed through, and making our day trip the most memorable and delightful. Thanks also to Lacia at the gift shop, we purchased some needed items there, and quality was high. We enjoyed some entertaining nights on site as well, with the inimitable piano playing skills of Paul, who has a vast and varied repertoire that we were able to enjoy. I could go on and on! We definitely would love to return in the future! Thank you so much Sunset at the Palms for such a fabulous first stay in Negril, Jamaica!

We booked for two weeks and we're completely chilled out by the end of the vacation. The rustic wooden hotel rooms set in a jungle atmosphere set the scene. The hotel needs a little maintenance to bring it back up to being top class after the covid lockdowns, but this didn't affect the vacation at all. Our room maid Shellone, was very friendly, kind and helpful and did a great job. It was the little touches that made all the difference. The hotel was quiet and relaxed and the food, whether at the buffet or the special evenings at the Palm Leaf or Chefs special evenings added to the pleasure of staying at this resort. What really makes this hotel special are the staff. A special thanks to the front of office manager, Kadian who was so friendly and helpful. Kadian arranged for our trip out to the YS Falls and Black River with a really great driver, Sinclair. Top marks for a such a careful driver who managed to miss most of the potholes on some of the roads. In addition, the restaurant staff were attentive and ready to please. Many thanks to Stacey, Melissa and Claudette in particular, for making our stay so pleasurable. The hotel manager , Mr Bloomfield was always on hand unlike many hotels and it was good to see him interact with all the guests. Evening entertainment was also available most nights either from the resident pianist or a local band. This, along with the cocktails or sparkling wine made the evening very enjoyable.

We absolutely love the Royalton chain of hotels and Negril did not disappoint. The vibe team was the highlight for us they brought the energy and made the stay even better for us! The only bit of feedback I could give was I feel the hotel could do with a little bit of maintenance/TLC in areas. The restaurants were not always open, the water pressure was a little low, and there were a few power cuts. Also I wish someone had explained to us how the app worked for booking dinners when we arrived as this was new to us and we did not know you had to book through the app. That being said the good made up for the negatives. The hotel was stunning with amazing views and the excursion providers within the hotel made the trips out of the hotel very easy. The Michael Jackson entertainment and Bob Marley nights were amazing and the food in the **** shack was unreal !! I want to give a special shout out Christine the waiter in Calypso and Elijah and Skye (Kieran) the taxi drivers for ensuring our safety when we left the resort to see the town of Negril. The drinks were amazing, and all in all everyone in the hotel was so attentive and really looked after us. Overall a lovely stay and I would recommend !
Check in went bizarrely unhinged and mismanaged. The next day management visited to rectify the horror. Overall service was above average in most departments. I rebooked because nothing is perfect and amendments were offered.

The resorts itself is pretty nice. Our room was clean and the A/C in the room worked well. The A/C in the restaurants and bars were not great. Sweated alot while waiting for dinner unless we stayed in our room till time to eat. They dont really have any nice indooor bar. The food was pretty good but did notice some unsafe food handling practices and most of my party experienced diarrhea at some points during the trip. The Italian restaurant was the best... The restaurants and bars ran out of food and liquors often. We never knew what any specific bar may or may not be out of. Only 2 kayaks and 2 paddles boards for guest; seems cheap considering they have over 250 rooms. About 75% of the employees didn't have good personalities and could use some training on hostility; compared to the crusies and AIs in Mexico they weren't close. The 2 best employees we encounter were Christina at the swim up bar between building 8/9 and Dwayne at the main outside bar by the lobby. Both we very friendly and personable. Christina made our vacation enjoyable and the most fun! We enjoyed several days of hanging in the pool chating and laughing with her. My entire group loved her and would want to come back to just see her!! ❤️ Overall good experience, however the resort has alot of room for improvement.

Stayed 5 days and 4 nights. Ocean front room was very clean and comfortable. Service and staff was great ! Shouts to Shaniquille front desk for such great service and meeting all our needs. Also to Talicia who took great care of my friends and I at the beach and scheduled our excursions and dinner reservations. She is a gem! Thanks to Ford, M&M and DJ Draggy for the dance lessons, great energy and making us feel at home in Jamaica. The Italian and Ackee restaurants were very good! The food was full of flavor and the service was great! Depending on where you sit in the Italian restaurant it can be warm but our second time dining we were seated in a cool location. Big thanks to our server, forgot his name but he’s young slim and engaged. You know who you are. Best wishes and thank you! I’ll be back! One Love!

I was beyond impressed with the quality service my husband and I received at Travellers. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a pleasant and efficient young lady at the front desk. We were a bit early so our room was not quite ready but not to worry we could hang by the in house restaurant to pass the time and have a walk around the property. Upon our return to the front desk we were escorted to our room which was exceptionally clean with crisp white linens and a spotless bathroom. Immediately I felt a sense of relief as we were not quite sure what to expect. We opted to include breakfast in our booking and was quite happy with that choice, the chef was spot on in the ackee and saltfish Jamaican breakfast. Travellers is right on the 7 mile beach so we had access to all the offerings and then some. On Wednesday night guests of the hotel were treated to the Manager's Cocktail Reception, the Guest Relations Manager was quite eloquent in her welcome and made us feel quite special. The guest performer who played the flute was exceptional in his rendition of Jamaican reggae tunes, we quite enjoyed this ...kudos to Travellers for thinking about their guest in this manner. I highly recommend this boutique hotel, the standards here are quite high. This will definitely be my go to hotel on my return to Negril.

Very nice hotel on the beach. Hospitality was top notch. Every staff I encounter was alway had a smile on their face, professional, respectful, pleasant and helpful. This hotel has the best breakfast. I was so full, I did not need to eat again until dinner time. I had oxtail for dinner and that was so delicious. The bar has excellent drinks. My drink was rum punch after the first drink o was very mellow. Housekeeping did an excellent job it my room. Bed was very comfortable and slept like a new born baby. The ocean view from my room was breathtaking. Thank for your excellent service and will definitely return. The sand on the beach felt like baby powder on my feet.

I usually come here with my family and this has been one of the worst experiences EVER!! The guest services at the front desk was very insulting with asking me if the person I came with is a part of my party! When asked for more towels I got the wrong set and also when I went to get it myself there was an extra wait time as none was on property. The bartender had a disgusting attitude I could puke my drink with his non friendliness, definitely will turn guests away. When checking out the way they were going on about their second key I’m like do they really think I would want to keep their second key the other person was on the beach when I was checking out and the way the guy at the front desk made it seem like I would like their key was SUCH a turnoff!!!! I WILLL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN. The servers at breakfast and dinner were nice and as always a big shoutout to the lifeguards!! The hospitality never changes when we stay here amongst them! The entire front desk needs to be FIRED and that bartender!

Our 2nd stay at Merrill’s resort on the beach and we had a great time. We had ground floor room that was big enough for 3 ladies - lots of closet and drawer space! The food and drink was very good! It’s buffet style for all meals with plenty of food options to please everyone. Right on the beach with plenty of beach chairs and shade if needed. Staff is welcoming and friendly and will go above and beyond to make your trip special. I requested some bread pudding cake and the pastry cook made me one. It was amazing! We highly recommend Merrill’s on the Beach side!

My wife and I have stayed there 3 years in a row . But had to cancel due to covid. Have stayed in two different units, same owner. The rooms are not 5 star. But you're not paying 5 star either. But everything else is great. Plenty of room on the beach that is set back from the water. Plenty of chairs and shade. Bar/restaurant on site. Beautiful gardens. Pool. You can walk into town for groceries or to local shops. You're on 7 mile, you can walk the beach for many restaurants or shops. The ocean is beautiful. We've already booked for next January 2023 with a different owner this time. Condo looks nicer. We booked through Airbnb..you can see the condos and the cost is right there. We have always felt secure there..guard at the gate and security on the Beach. We wouldn't keep going back if it wasn't a great place to go. We have stayed at this wonderful hotel for the fifth time since 2011. The property is barely 30 meters wide and maybe 200 deep. A small footpath meanders through the complex. A few older bungalows and also newly built ones, which sometimes have two or three floors. These buildings are reminiscent of Venice in color and are decorated with beautiful wooden structures. The stairs are also made of wood. Countless palm trees and other trees run through the entire area. Like a small jungle. We have not stayed in a nicer facility in the whole world and the world is big. The new rooms are very comfortable, the older ones are no less pleasant. The bathrooms are slightly smaller than those in the new rooms. The room service is great, the maids very reliable. We are here for 4 weeks this year. It is therefore of particular importance that the mattresses are good. And they are awesome. The rooms all have a fridge, a kettle and a container where you can get ice cubes. The breakfast, see photo, is very simple, tailored to American standards. But toast, butter and various egg dishes were enough for us. There are about 30 rooms in the hotel and sun loungers on the beach, which are very aesthetic and comfortable. About 15 umbrellas, but they are completely sufficient, because there are also a good stock of trees in the sun garden and plenty of tree shade. More palm trees have been planted and will provide more shade. There are various beach vendors, we love the food and drink offer, but they are really not pushy and are not allowed in the area of the sun loungers. I like to repeat myself, the facility is awesome. The maids have been here for a very long time, we always find the rooms very, very clean. The WiFi system works very well. The COVID rules, especially wearing a mask and disinfecting hands, are well observed. Additional points have been set up with sinks and disinfection. The beach is awesome too. Very clean Caribbean sand. You go into the water with a slight slope, no coral, no stone and no sea urchins. The perfect beach, which also stretches several kilometers along the sea as if pulled by a string. Lots of options for a drink. And Negril is to the west, which means there's a sunset every day. You can go to elegant West End restaurants in Negril, but you can also pick up simple fare at stands, jerk chicken is a hit here. If you don't want to eat at the hotel. (Cesar's salad with chicken here is world class, calamari rings not really) Cash, ie US dollars or Jamaican dollars, you can get them at any cash machine (ATM) with an EC card. The courses are almost without fees, in contrast to the credit card. When you arrive there is one right at the entrance to the small airport or on the opposite side of the street in a shopping center. If the hotel compl

I give 5 stars because of the AMAZING STAFF , beautiful beach and GOOD home-cooked Jamaican food. My second time at fun holiday, first was just with my husband and second time with my 2 sons. The staff( I can not name them as EACH AND EVERY staff member went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and being very attentive to my 3 year old). If you are to book a tour, book with STEVE at the hotel. He took us to Benta falls (beautiful) where we could walk amd swim in the water for a very reasonable price. Steve goes out if his way to make you feel comfortable. The beach is perfect no rocks or seaweed. Located 3 minute from downtown negril where you will find local shops, Seaview restaurant , and grocery stores. Prices in the town are cheap . Not a 5 star resort however a 5 star experience!!! We will be back. Thank you Fun Holiday!
