This was undoubtedly the best day/night spent in kerala. One of the best houseboats in the backwater. Staying at kumarakom and availing aqua jumbo was a super decision as not too many boats start from there and the cruise is excellent with land views. The house boat was spacious, each bedroom was nicely done up and the chef, ravi made food better than a hotel cook. Made a trip to the fish market, took a canal cruise and the chef made some delicious snacks with the fresh catch. I would definitely recommend travellers to try the aqua group.

A serene retreat with the kumarakom Lake area. The resort has very attentive staff and there's quite a bit to do and explore within the resort. The bungalows are really authentic to the traditional Keralite style. They come with an open to sky bathroom that makes the showering experience amazingly refreshing! Definitely would recommend!!

Getting There - 2hrs drive from Kochi airport. The hotel arranged for a transfer taxi. 5,000/- one way. Arrival- Welcomed with chandan tika, welcome drink, cold towel and a big smile by the staff. Room- Got it early then the checkin time. Rooms are big, well lit with good views. But they need a lot of maintenance and refurbishment. Hotel- Green, peaceful, clean. Food & Restaurants - Only 1 restaurant with limited menu. But everything we ordered was delicious and good in portion size.

The food was average nothing great, with the buffet spread was limited, the refill was hard to come by. Housekeeping and room services were good, fast and prompt. Overall it was a good stay at holiday vagamon. The property area was beautiful, laden with tea plantations. Our 2 nights stay was in a deluxe room and the room was just enough for a small family of 3 which included our little one. Accessibility to the property was excellent, which by the way was on the pulikkanam - elappara road and not too far away from vagamon town and many of the important tourist destinations. The restaurant staff was courteous and the food, we felt, was really good. Room service was good and we got our bed coffees, without us asking, by 7:15 - 7:20 am daily. What could have improved - the reception staff was a bit apprehensive and we felt that they were new to the property or did not have enough knowledge of what/where/when of vagamon. The restaurant seems to be small and got easily crowded during our stay since it was a peak season and all the rooms were full. We also felt that the restaurant was understaffed with the property manager (criss jacob) having to run around to get the customer service done properly. We felt he could have had some help. Other thing we noticed was that the room main door lock needed maintenance and most of the initial locks on the doors have been replaced with additional ones, since the original ones did not work. We also had to call up the reception 3 times during our stay when the water got over in the bathrooms and after calling them up, they switched on the motors. For a property such as this, one could expect not having to call up the reception to get the motors running to fill up the water.
