The hotel's hardware and software are excellent, as always at the Park Hyatt level. The Japanese breakfast is good, but the dinner is not good... I didn't order Teppanyaki for dinner, so I went to Bistro. I ordered beer after I sat down, but it didn't come for a long time. I asked for it, and when it was served, I was so hasty that I spilled the beer on the table and changed it... My wife's main dish of fish was almost finished, and my main dish of steak hadn't come yet. I asked for it, and it came. To be honest, it tasted good, but the service was really not up to par. After observing it, it might be because there were not enough waiters. Everyone was very busy, but they just couldn't meet customer needs in time. This should be a problem with the management!

I booked a deluxe room with a view, but I still saw only a little bit of the Yasaka Tower. It seems that only the Yasaka Tower suite can see a better view. It is very value for money to order Yasaka Teppanyaki through Ctrip’s secretary. , the package is about 20,000-30,000 yen but you can enjoy the view of the sunset at Yasaka Tower. It is really worth it, but the price during the maple leaf season is still high even if you book it ten months in advance. There’s nothing wrong with it except that it’s expensive🥹🥹

The best choice for a trip to Kyoto is to stay at the Aman Kyoto that I have always dreamed of. The Aman Hotel is hidden in a quiet forest, surrounded by greenery and a tranquil Zen atmosphere. This time I stayed in the Nara room. The room was very new. The large floor-to-ceiling windows on the first floor provided great lighting. The sunlight shone through the window into the room, and the hurried trip slowed down. The most unforgettable thing was the smiling faces and warm and thoughtful service of every staff member during the stay! This time, I made an appointment for two days of dinner and afternoon tea in advance, both at the Living Pavilion. All the staff in the restaurant were very polite and the service was impeccable. The dishes were very delicate and delicious. Next time I come, I will try Takaan. It was a great stay experience. I will come in autumn next time!

It was a very good stay. I walked around with the tour guide and deeply experienced the philosophy of light and shadow in the garden. One day of dinner was Japanese Kaiseki and the other day was Aman restaurant, each with its own characteristics. It was a pity that I didn't meet Chef Takagi again for Japanese Kaiseki (I met him in his hometown Zeniya a few years ago). It is a recommended hotel, and it is also one of the Aman hotels with Japanese Kyoto characteristics.

It's not worth the price, so don't choose this hotel.
There is no doubt that all hotels in Japan are very hygienic. This hotel room is almost freezing in the winter, because Japan does not have floor heating, only air conditioning. The glass is single-layered, and the air conditioning stops running at some point, so we are all very cold. I called and got a small heater that was worth ten thousand a day.
Breakfast is a continental dish that looks rich but has not adapted to Chinese people! My husband is a European and even he said that I could at least have a bowl of porridge while staying in a hotel in Tokyo for 3,000 days. And I am already very tolerant of things. If you don’t believe it, please go and see for yourself. There is ice cream, but not xiaolongbao, and no rice porridge. Porridge is only included in the set meal. I was stingy when I chose that set meal and didn't let you choose the buffet. I didn't eat much, but I thought the hotel layout was too low! And the set menu cannot be selected every day.
All in all, I won't come back to this hotel again, it's so stupid.

An old waiter in the hotel was not very friendly to guests. The room I arranged for the first night was very small. Although the facilities in the room were good, the layout was unreasonable and it was not comfortable to stay in.
I would like to give a 5-point praise to Ctrip. I told Ctrip that the room was too small and it was not the room in the picture I booked. Ctrip actively contacted the hotel and changed to a satisfactory room the next day. They also paid for the extra bed as compensation. After-sales service is still guaranteed.

We were a group of 6 people staying at the Hotel Mitsui on a trek through Japan. Suffice it to say, that the group was all pleased that we stayed here. Our initial check in process was a bit bumpy (no tea service) as it was clear everyone was checking into the hotel for a holiday weekend. However, within 30 minutes, we were all on our way to our rooms. Overall, the hotel and the rooms are designed in muted tones and a modern zen vibe. Where other hotels would simply have drywall covered with pictures, the Mitsui has clearly thought about every surface. We were in a room that looked out to the central garden, which is beautiful. The room had a nice long marble bench at the entrance which was nice for putting shoes on or setting things down to pack / unpack. Further in the room, there is a bar area, desk area and a nice long padded bench by the window. Controls for the room are near the bed and you can dim lights or raise and lower blinds with ease. The bathroom is a very clever design with two pocket door entrances, offering a closet area, double sink, a wet room with tub and shower and rom for the toilet. The room for the toilet is wide and very peaceful. Of course, it comes with the fancy Toto Neorest toilet that raises and lowers the seat automatically, has a heated seat, has a bidet feature and more. The shower offers both a hand held and a rain head that with a fine spray. Bathroom toiletries are crafted for the Hotel Mitsui. Of course, robes were available (just ask if you need a different size). Let’s talk about sleeping…. The bed was among the most comfortable that I have ever tried (firm, with just the right amount of softness). Down pillows and a duvet complete the scene. And course, should you not like your pillow, there is a pillow menu. The rooms at the Mitsui are quiet with blackout shades. At night, gentle nightlights illuminate the path to the bathroom. In all, the sleep experience is well thought out and devine. One of the stand out features of the hotel would be the Thermal Springs in the basement. The Thermal Springs are a modern version of a traditional Japanese onsen. Access is open to everyone in the hotel, but the number of people permitted in is managed to in more than 14 people at a time. You have to call ahead to make sure there is space, but in our case, we were always able to get in. Anyone who out touring in Kyoto, should make time in their busy schedule to visit the Thermal Springs between their tours and dinner - it is a great way to wash off the city and relax before dinner - very civilized. This review is particularly fun for me as our stay at the Mitsui ultimately caused us to break up with our travel agent. He was SO insistent that we stay at the Ritz , he could not imagine trying something new like the Mitsui (nor was he willing o have his team check it out). In the end, I feel vindicated, we loved our stay at the Mitsui and would happily return

I don't often take the time to review hotels but I feel the need to write a review from this experience. First of all, the hotel is gorgeous and the garden, bar and onsen are amazing! I could not recommend this experience enough along with the amazing staff and hotel location. However, I feel a real need to offer anyone staying here some advice - first of all, absolutely Do not book this hotel through Expedia (or any American booking site)! You will get the lowest quality room and much is lost in translation from the booking. This was a terrible error on my part. I wish I had booked this hotel through American Express or any other way. We had a party of 3 and the hotel was very expensive - it was a very special trip for us and a huge spurge and top price was paid for our stay. Again, it is a luxury resort and I do believe it is worth the splurge if you can afford it, however we were given the lowest quality/smallest room at the highest price - overlooking the alley and a garage - super bleak view. We were offered to spend an additional 50% more for a ”castle view” and larger room/suite upon check-in. We definitely would have upgraded but not for 50% more? Do not pay extra for a ”castle view” either - it is absolutely a view of a very busy street. The view you wish for is a garden view. I believe for what we paid (again, it was extremely pricey), we should have been given this view and a larger room, but again, I believe since we booked through Expedia (and pre-paid) we were ranked the absolute lowest and given the lowest room. Note: we went peak season and the hotel appeared to be at capacity/full. Booking for 3 people though it was assumed to be a suite and not a standard room with a trundle added for a very steep price of a suite stay. Again, all lost in translation through the Expedia site booking. Also, we booked a full breakfast and on the Expedia website it said we paid for 3 ppl once we got to the hotel this was again all lost in translation and we were told that we had only paid for 2 full breakfasts. Again, just absolutely disappointing. So, in summary - it is a beautiful hotel, onsen, breakfast, restaurant etc.. but for what we paid I felt like a loser in a tiny cramped room with a trundle bed for our daughter (and not what the site looked like we booked). I was so exited about such a beautiful hotel and while I am happy on occasion to splurge and to stay in such a beautiful environment - for that price I believe we were given the bottom of the barrel and overcharged (for a regular room w./ a trundle versus a suite and an additional breakfast for one person every morning). Sad because with such a spurge I didn't want to think about anything negative and didn't want to deal with these details (so I didn't argue as it would have ruined our trip). I expected more, again, I fully blame Expedia and how it is viewed as a low class budget packager versus a high quality thoughtful way to book a luxury vacation. Again, the fault lies with me (a

The place that left my first trip to Kyoto as a happy memory until the end
I will bring good memories with me whenever I remember Kyoto.
The well-organized and tidy feeling makes you comfortable from entering the hotel to leaving.
It blends Japan's past and present well, giving it a unique and sophisticated feel.
Hinoki bathtub and plenty of warm water
It relieved the regret of a ryokan that I had not experienced on this trip.
It is recommended that you try the breakfast you ate every morning.
The menu, which used to be Korean food, was changed to a buffet format.
The food is unusual and unique. I'm very satisfied ^^
I'm going back after getting along well with the warm consideration and help of all the staff.

The location is convenient, the design is good, and the service is good. There is a parent-child experience of dyeing cloth, and there is also a special product sales area. There is a 11-7 store near the downstairs. It is very convenient to buy things, and it is a very good stay experience

We stayed at the Four Seasons Kyoto for three nights in October during our family trip through Japan. The hotel is absolutely stunning. We were upgraded to a huge suite with private garden as I was travelling with an injured leg and could not leave the hotel very much. We met the general manager during check in and she said that if I had to stay at the hotel most of the time they would want to provide me with a beautiful room. What a lovely gesture. We met her again the next morning during breakfast time wehre she went to introduce herself to everyone and to have a small chat with guests. My husband and myself both used the spa and were very happy with treatments. My son and husband used the pool every day which they liked a lot. We had food through room service (the risotto was the best I have ever had). Funnily enough the young lady who served room service was from near our home town in Germany (Hi Mel !). We also at the main restaurant and had drinks in the lobby lounge area. It is also the little details that make a difference. I left my reading glasses out on the desk and when I came back they were on a hotel branded glasses cleaing cloth. And my computer mouse was provided with a hotel branded little mouse pad. Before staying there I was in contact with one of the concierges who helped me create an itinary of what my son and husband should see during our stay in Kyoto. Their recommendations for sightseeing and also outside restaurants were great. The staff in general was very polite and helpful. We cannot fault anything at the hotel. As I was not able to go out much we will definately return. And I can only recommend anyone else to stay there as well.

The room is good, the hotel environment is very good, the design style is a fusion of Japanese and modern. The breakfast buffet is not amazing, but there are some special menus, which are also pretty good. It is recommended to try the dishes on the menu.
But there are two problems: 1. When I booked the hotel, I booked it directly on Ctrip. Later, I found that there was a big difference between the price on Ctrip and the price provided by other websites. After negotiating with Ctrip, Ctrip agreed to compensate me for the price difference (subsequent charge After Ctrip compensates for the price difference, I will add) Ctrip also admits that it is a problem with the price provided by their Japanese agent. I hope that Ctrip can find a better Japanese agent and provide more competitive prices for Ctrip members.
2. The hotel's default mattress is the soft one that European and American tourists like, which is not suitable for our family. On the first night at 2 o'clock in the middle of the night, my wife woke up with a backache. It was quite late later, and in order not to disturb my child and I, she slept on the floor that night. Communicated with the hotel and changed to a harder mattress the next day. At breakfast on the last day, I met the general manager in the restaurant. She asked about our hotel situation. We told her about the mattress. Under her leadership, we finally got a solution.

Kyoto maintains a strong Southeast Asian style.
Entering the hotel, the smell, trees, and decoration style are all very Southeast Asian.
Don't worry, the service in Southeast Asia is also first-class, not to mention in Kyoto, so the service must be great, especially the Japanese beauty who checked in and the ********* beauty at the door, the service is absolutely attentive and considerate. However, the cleaners are a little casual, not like Japan.
The food provided by the hotel is not too delicious, but not bad, and all non-alcoholic drinks in the mini bar are free.
The huge balcony is only useful when the weather is perfect like now, and it is not good when it is too hot or too cold.
The facilities are good, the room is not big, but it is enough. The network speed is average, and the game cannot be played.
The bed and pillow are great, suitable for rest. Other facilities are also very good, but the hotel has many special things, including lighting design, toothpaste... Different from other places, you need to adapt.
The breakfast is also very Southeast Asian, I am not used to it. After all, I came to Japan and wanted to eat standard Japanese or Western breakfast, not Southeast Asian Japanese breakfast.

It is an important stop for a wonderful experience in Kyoto.
Six Senses always tries to use the surrounding products, and the snacks in the room are very unique.
Although the restaurant is located underground, the design of the sky-high atrium makes my breakfast feel like I am in the mountains.
It is very close to the museum and the famous Sanjusangendo Hall, and you can walk there.

Sowaka, Kyoto, consists of a new building and an old building. The old building does not accept children under 12 years old, but the new building does. The old hotel has a history of 110 years. After the renovation, it is really modern. The original well is retained and the stove is in the reception area. It feels great. The hotel overall is very good and the service is also very good. I will choose it again next time I come.
- ella2898
Needless to say about the environment and service~ It would be even better if you could book a room with a private garden~
The only small problem is that there are racing gangs nearby, and the sound insulation of the old house is not that good. It is absolutely safe to wear earplugs~~

Dear Sir/Madam,
I recently had the opportunity to stay at your hotel, and I would like to share my experience with you. First and foremost, I want to express my gratitude for the exceptional design and comfort your property offers. Kengo Kuma’s architectural brilliance, with its use of natural wood, thoughtful lighting, and integration of art pieces, creates a stunning and serene atmosphere. Additionally, the comfort of the rooms, the quality of the materials, the size of the beds, and the premium linens were truly impressive. In terms of design and comfort, your hotel sets a remarkable standard.
However, I did encounter several service-related issues that I believe could be addressed to enhance the overall guest experience. I would like to share these points in the hope that they are helpful for future improvements:
1. Breakfast Lounge and Sushi Area: The proximity of these two areas creates a strong odor upon entering, which can be unpleasant. Improved ventilation could easily mitigate this issue.
2. Food and Beverage Service After Breakfast: The lack of food and beverage service after breakfast hours was inconvenient. At the very least, providing a space for guests to enjoy tea or coffee would be a welcome addition.
3. Room Service Availability: After a long journey, I was surprised to learn that room service was unavailable and that only rice balls could be provided. Expanding room service options would greatly improve the guest experience.
4. Flexibility with Breakfast Hours: Due to the time difference, I arrived slightly late for breakfast at 10:10 AM and was informed that nothing could be served. Even my request for tea did not receive a clear response. Greater flexibility in accommodating guests dealing with jet lag would be highly appreciated.
5. Lobby Services: The inability to offer anything to drink or even host a guest in the lobby felt restrictive. This could be improved to make the lobby a more welcoming space.
6. Spa Experience: I was unable to experience the renowned Banyan Tree spa as it was fully booked. Expanding spa reservation availability would help meet guest expectations for this signature offering.
In summary, while the hotel excels in design and comfort, the service offerings seem to be constrained by rigid rules and limited hours, which can detract from the overall guest experience. I strongly believe that adopting a more flexible, guest-centered approach would significantly enhance satisfaction.
If the above issues were addressed, I would certainly consider staying at your hotel again during my next visit to Kyoto. Once again, I want to thank you for the exceptional design and comfort provided during my stay and hope that these suggestions contribute to further elevating your standards.
Best regards, next visit to Kyoto. Once again, I want to thank you for the exceptional design and comfort provided during my stay and hope that these suggestions contribute to further elevating your standards.
Best regards,

The hotel is newly opened, with a very elegant design. It continues the Banyan Tree's usual wooden elements to give people a fresh and natural feeling. The rooms are spacious. I love the wooden private bath in the room the most. The hot spring spa is amazing. The hotel provides exquisite dinner and breakfast. Walking in the hotel's small garden in the morning and looking at the dense bamboo forest is very healing. The staff is warm and thoughtful, polite and meticulous, and the ceiling level

Lovely clean hotel a short walk (or free shuttle) to kyoto station). All was good. Very fast wifi and comfortable beds. Excellent breakfast either downstairs or in the revolving restaurant.
The only oddity was the swimming pool and gym which had restricted usage hours and required payment on top! Was not worth it and even if it was the unusual hours of operation made it unfeasible.
Would stay again though unless I really needed the gym and pool.From$80

Our stay at Good Nature Hotel Kyoto was truly memorable! The location is ideal, just a short walk from the train station, making it incredibly convenient. The service was outstanding—front desk staff even helped us make a dinner reservation since we don’t speak Japanese. We were also impressed by the thoughtful touches, like the tiny indoor shoes they provided for our baby. The hotel’s shower gel, shampoo, and handwash were lovely—natural and refreshing. We loved them so much that we bought some from their grocery store to bring back home! The warm and eco-conscious atmosphere, combined with excellent service, made our stay perfect. Title: An Extraordinary Stay at an Exquisite Kyoto Gem
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5)
I recently had the pleasure of staying at a truly remarkable hotel in Kyoto, and I can confidently say that my experience was nothing short of excellent. From the moment I stepped foot into this elegant establishment until the day of my departure, every aspect of my stay exceeded my expectations.
Nestled in the heart of Kyoto, the hotel's location was simply perfect. It provided easy access to some of the city's most iconic landmarks and cultural attractions, ensuring that I could explore the beauty of Kyoto with utmost convenience. Whether it was the majestic Kinkaku-ji Temple or the serene Arashiyama Bamboo Grove, everything was within reach, allowing me to immerse myself fully in the city's rich heritage.
The hotel's architecture and interior design were a true reflection of Kyoto's aesthetic beauty. The moment I entered the lobby, I was greeted by a sense of tranquility and harmony. The attention to detail was impeccable, with traditional Japanese elements seamlessly integrated into the contemporary design. The serene garden views from the common areas only added to the overall charm and provided a peaceful oasis amidst the bustling city.
The staff members at the hotel were the epitome of hospitality. From the warm welcome at check-in to the attentive service throughout my stay, they went above and beyond to ensure my comfort. Their genuine smiles and willingness to assist with any request created a welcoming and friendly atmosphere that made me feel right at home. Their knowledge of the local area and recommendations for sightseeing and dining were invaluable, enabling me to make the most of my time in Kyoto.
The room I stayed in was a haven of luxury and elegance. Immaculately clean and tastefully decorated, it exuded a sense of serenity that allowed me to unwind after a day of exploration. The attention to detail was evident in every aspect, from the comfortable bedding to the carefully curated amenities.From$173

It was a comfortable room with simple and necessary things. The roll curtain and bed cover in the room are different for each room, so I look forward to what room it will be every time. Amenities are in the lobby so it is a style to bring what you need. There is no bathtub and only shower. The coffee in the lobby is free at your favorite timing. I can read manga freely, so I was able to spend a leisurely time reading cartoons and working remotely in the lobby.From$38

The best part abt this hotel is its location; it next to central train stations for all services; so super convenient for travelling to anywhere in Kyoto. Room is big enough, surrounded by eateries and shops for souvenirs!From$70

Arashiyama/Sagano/Takao Kyoto|8.29km from city center
The location of the hotel is very special. From the bustling Arashiyama business district, take a boat along the small river upstream. The scenery is beautiful all the way. It takes ten minutes to arrive at the hotel on the bank of the small river in the green valley. It is very quiet, like a small The paradise of idyllic beauty, very rare and precious.
The hotel rooms are Japanese style, with a quaint aesthetic, and the facilities are clean and tidy. The most commendable thing is that the beauty inside the room and the scenery outside the window complement each other, making people intoxicated... Here you will really sigh how perfect and touching the combination of natural beauty and artificial beauty can be. May is the season for maple trees to bloom. The green maple leaves outside the window, with little red maple flowers, are already fascinating. If the maple trees are full of red in autumn, the ultimate beauty will be breathtaking.
The service of the hotel is very good. The service staff are very kind and polite, making you feel at home. In particular, the breakfast is delivered to the room and put on a table. It is very rich and unique, and you can enjoy the food while looking at the beautiful scenery outside the window.
Although this hotel is expensive, it is worth staying several times in different seasons for those who want to explore the natural beauty of Kyoto and the beauty of Japanese tradition, for those who look forward to the ultimate aesthetic feeling of residence, and for those who like a quiet paradise.SOLD OUT
