This has been one of our favorite places to stay over the years, we sometimes stay 2-3 times a year. Sadly, I think we might look for a new place to stay when we visit Lafayette in the future. The staff was very kind, helpful and accommodating this visit. Check in was great, fast and easy. Our room was dated, but fairly clean. I didn’t report it, but one of the lamps was missing on one of our nightstands, so it seemed dark in the room. The bathroom could’ve been cleaner, grime in the doorway that may be permanent, I couldn’t tell. Hot water took forever to come out of the shower. A/C seemed to be broken most of our stay. The other BIG problem this hotel has is people who aren’t guests using the pool. This time, they had a system. Park in the nearby parking lot, get a housekeeper to let them in, then enter through one of the pool view rooms that a housekeeper was cleaning, to make it appear they are guests. I know they weren’t staying in that room because when we went to the pool, the inner door was opened and the housekeeper was cleaning, no guests were staying there. This kind of thing has happened the past 4-5 times we’ve stayed here. Mother’s Day, they parked in the parking lot and set up a complete party complete with obnoxious music, food, screaming kids running around on the pool deck and not one of the people was staying at the hotel…they never are. I don’t know what can be done because it’s so easy to enter the pool from the parking lot UNLESS they go back to having to use your key to enter the gate and instruct housekeeping that their friends and families done have free reign over this pool, it’s strictly for guests and ENFORCE IT IS ONLY FOR HOTEL GUESTS. We paid for our room, and expect peaceful use of the pool, these people aren’t guests and shouldn’t be allowed to use the pool when guests are just trying to relax out there.

I stayed for a business trip on 6/26. Initially I was excited to be upgraded to an executive room because of my status and the room appeared to be clean, with the air conditioning working well on a hot day. My first disappointment came, when I tried to access the executive lounge and was told it had been closed since 2020. The Manager on shift was very nice and accommodating and offered a voucher for an appetizer in lieu of the lounge experience. That night, the hotel was quiet and I slept well. I woke up around 6 am the next morning, got out of bed and turned on the lamp next to the bed. There was a small black bug on my pillow that I had obviously been sleeping with all night. When the bug saw the light, it immediately crawled under the pillow. I took a picture and video of the bug, so I could have it identified, and it was identified as an adult bed bug. I made the front desk personnel aware of the issue and she acted as if it was no big deal. I later called and left the manager a voicemail, letting him know that the hotel had bed bugs - to which he responded with an email stating that they didn’t find any bugs, but would exterminate the room regardless. I do hope that this hotel takes every measure to completely eliminate the bed bugs from their rooms … and I hope in the future, they show a little more concern and compassion when someone comes to them with this issue. To break it down, I had to drive 4 hours with potential bed bugs and eggs in my luggage - exposing my car to these bugs, I then had to bag everything I brought and try to quickly get everything into my washer, while praying that one did not jump off of my stuff and into my house in the process and I’m still hoping and praying that the protocol I followed to try to prevent them from getting into my house, actually worked. I stay at the Hilton because they are supposed to be a nice, clean, safe hotel … but this experience has me questioning my loyalty to them and I’m not sure I’ll want to stay at another Hilton brand.
