The hotel/boardinghouse is located walking to the station in a residential area. The entrance and the rooms are open through an app, so check-in is timely flexible. The telephone registration was fast and uncomplicated. The rooms are very beautiful, good bed, balcony, beautiful, even small bathroom. Water, coffee and tea is available in the room for free. Breakfast was fantastic. Unfortunately, we were there on the days when the restaurant had closed, but it was warmly recommended by travelers who were there once. I too: recommendation for stay.

Aufenthalt 08/2021 Das Areal ist wunderschön und es gibt viel zu entdecken. Das Ambiente ist traumhaft und lädt zum längeren Verweilen ein. Auf dem „Schlossplatz“ gibt es einige Geschäfte, viele Essens- und Trinkmöglichkeiten. Spazieren kann man hier ganz toll! Unser Zimmer war sehr schön und geräumig, Die Sauberkeit war (bis auf 2-3 Spinnen) fast vorbildlich. Auch das Badezimmer war wunderschön und super modern. Aber: Es gab drei verschieden Parkplätze mit unterschiedlicher Nähe und Ausleuchtung. Direkt am Hoteleingang sind tolle Parkplätze, diese sind aber leider so gut wie immer voll. Die anderen sind mit Fußmärschen verbunden und ziemlich dunkel. Die Rezeptionsbar ist recht eng, was beim Check In und Out für Gedrängel sorgt. Unser Zimmer besaß eine sehr ungünstige Lage direkt neben dem Wäscheraum. Nachts liefen die Waschmaschinen und es war unglaublich laut. Zudem hatten wir ein total kleines Fenster mit Blick auf das Dach – viel sahen wir nicht – und das, obwohl unser Zimmer vergleichsweise preisintensiv war. Das Frühstück war in Ordnung, aber wir hätten bei einem 4-Sterne-Hotel etwas mehr erwartet. Es war recht unübersichtlich und die Auswahl war nicht die größte. Die Anordnung der Buffets sorgte (vermutlich coronabedingt) für längere Schlangen und Gedrängel. Die Hoteleigene App lässt sich außerdem leider nur mit einem iPhone downloaden, was schade ist.

I visited Chemnitz due to an outdoor performance by the German band Revolverheld in late August. I booked Hotel and der Oper because it was across the street from the venue -- Theaterplatz -- and because it had good reviews on TA. I was very happy with my stay. I reserved a single room. The room itself was small but spotless. Furnishings, mattress, bedding, and bathroom were all fine. The small package of gummy Schlaf Schäfchen (sleep sheep) on the pillow in my room was a nice whimsical German touch. The view from my top-story room? Stunning. It alone was worth the price of the room and looked directly onto Theaterplatz. There were large windows that opened completely, offering an even better view and great appreciation of sound. I was able to watch (and hear) Revolverheld's sound check. How cool is that? I could have watched the concert from my room if I wanted to do so. Hotel staff were great. The breakfast buffet had good variety. Location is excellent. There are many restaurants and much to see within walking distance of the hotel. The train station is also a short walk from the hotel. I would like to come back and explore Chemnitz some more some day; I will almost certainly stay at Hotel an der Oper when I do that.

The hotel is quietly located in the industrial park ”Chemnitz Park”. A home-owned parking for cheap 3,- € daily is directly at the house. A private garage for hotel visitors is not available. The location to the motorway is super. Very close, but not in hearing distance. The hotel has come partly safe in the years. The rooms do not really match ”modern” views; partly some furniture are a little afforded. The wallpaper in the room has also clear age traces, Entries into the room corners and depletion tracks. But you must also say that the price including breakfast is really more than just cheap. Therefore, the light departures in relation to a ”modern room” are more than just removed. Breakfast is very good and with a wide offer. The staff is friendly, competent and always is a contact person at the reception. All in all is a really good and cheap hotel.

I was very friendly received at the hotel and I had nothing missed. Breakfast was very pleasant and included a very rich offer. Here I will come back anyway.
