Hotel was OK. Problem with elevators that should have been told to us when we checked in. Several people at front desk, but no mention of this, although they were clearly having issues. When we returned from dinner there was an elevator repair man riding with passengers in the elevator. That kind of problem should be told to guests, we don't know if someone got stuck or what the problem was. It took a long time to for the elevator to come so we knew something wasn't right. Our room was OK. I needed another pillow and none of the ones in the closet had cases. I had to call down for one.

Ended up staying here after attempt to stay at #1-rated hotel failed. Had a great experience. Check-in was easy; after driving all day, much appreciated. Room was clean, spacious, and well-appointed. The morning breakfast was very good. This hotel needs to be rated better.

Such a shame. I could have given this hotel a five star rating. Problem is that it is so close to I-75 that the traffic noise is unrelenting all night. We even had our sound machine with us, and we could still hear the traffic. Otherwise, the hotel was clean, the room beautiful, staff friendly, good breakfast. I would have liked to put this on my list of places to stay in the future, but unfortunately, because of the noise, we will not. Hotel is well aware of the noise as we found ear plugs in the bathroom after we had checked in. We eventually used the ear plugs, but guests should not have to do that. The next morning I was told by a staff member that our room was on what is referred to as ”the noisy side” of the hotel.

This is one of the nicest hotels. They upgraded us to a sweet without our asking. It was so nice to be greeted by a pleasant front desk assistant, Manny, when we arrived at 10 pm! Highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area: clean, delicious breakfast, friendly staff

This is a property that was probably top drawer in Valdosta, but no doubt thanks to Covid, slipped two notches while the price went up two notches, and I don't get it. the staff is lovely, and you can tell the building has good bones, but it is like the owners just want to let it slip-slide away. What a fricken shame!

The Room was perfect Clean we also had a nice view as well .The only problem We had was the the lady at the front desk she was rude she literally told me i was going to damage the room she didn't make us feel welcome but she made other people of color feel very welcome

Stopped in Valdosta, GA on our way to a cruise departing out of Port Canaveral. The Wingate was extremely nice place to stop for the night. The hotel is situated next to several restaurants. We were upgraded to a suite, which was large, clean, comfortable and really nice. Room had a refrigerator and microwave as well. The breakfast provided was excellent. Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room did face the freeway side, however, the noise was not bad, and since the a/c-heat unit has a ”constant fan” included, this ”white noise” effectively covered any of the freeway noise. We enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this hotel.

Stayed here on our way to and from our vacation location. This is a fantastic hotel to stay with an excellent breakfast, comfortable beds and clean rooms and the staff was very friendly. It's a pet friendly hotel with a very nice fenced in area for dogs to run and play while being attended to.

All staff was ultra pleasant. The property was very clean. My family and I felt very safe. However, the layout of the bathroom was ridiculous. You walk right into the toilet. You have to squeeze into the vanity to close the door. If you lean up against the toilet your calves rub against it. That is gross. We stayed one night, so we tolerated it. We were in room 521....it butted up to the elevator. The elevator was not as quiet as assumed. Waaaa....humming up. Waaaaa humming down. Up and down, down and up. Stop, start. Stop, start. Totally not cool. Finally, Marriott often does not credit my points until I chase them down. I even when I ask during check in or check out if my points will be credited. That alone makes me want to ”cash” out and go back to the Holiday Inn. 4.5 stars.
I really wanted to like this hotel as my husband often visits on his trips, but the rooms really need a good cleaning. It is truly a 2 star hotel. Until they remodel, I'm not sure we will be back, especially at $180 per night and we travel through this way several times per year. We found hair and gunk below the vanity in the bathroom and the carpets were pretty dirty, leaving stains on our socks when walking across the room. Beds and pillows are mediocre for sleeping. The good news is that the hotel staff seemed very nice, carts were readily available, the hotel guest rooms are very well insulated from the expressway noise right next to it and that the free breakfast in the morning was surprisingly good and offerings better than expected. Finding the ”front” entrance can be a bit tricky, so be prepared to turn a bit earlier than expected off of the road and drive down a long, odd road to the hotel front door.

i and my spouse have stayed here twice each year for a number of years. We like the back side away from the highway and the suites are clean and spacious. Mini refrigerator is large enough to hold food from a medium cooler and beverages from a small cooler and importantly has a small freezer on top for our polar ice packs. Bravo. (Too many lack the freezer). Post Covid they once again offer hot breakfast (including eggs, sausage, and waffles) and other cold options - always sufficient for us . But this year the scrambled eggs were way too salty, and I never remember that in the past. The staff said they had not added salt, so the mix was a terrible choice/brand. Frankly anyone can add salt to taste (salt and pepper were provided) but you can't take it out. As retired (& older) both of us take medication for high blood pressure and look for low sodium on anything we buy. In our view if you can taste the salt in food from restaurants or store, it is too much. It may not taste bad but it is still not needed - salt can always be added to taste. But in this case those eggs tasted like brine - way too salty. Just unnecessary. After a few bites I had to toss them out, but managed with the waffle and sausage. So to management, please find an unsalted egg mix. The evening before we enjoyed a delightful dinner at the Peking Cafe a couple of blocks away and we highly recommend it if you like Asian food. Would be 5 stars if not for the eggs.

Pros: Staff is very friendly, bed was clean and comfortable, pillows were nice, a/c was a powerhouse - never had a hotel air conditioner keep our room so cool, shower was roomy with good water pressure & temperature, towels were good, room was pretty clean, vending machines for drinks available on every floor as well as ice, snacks and assorted meds available in the lobby for purchase, breakfast smelled good but we did not eat here Cons: Bathroom was not super clean - not bad but there were a lot of little hairs all over the sink, counter, and shower, elevators and hallways were very warm, heard a lot of noise from the room above - they must have had kids or something because they literally ran back and forth jumping and banging for hours on end until around 10pm but you could also hear just regular movement like walking around - we did not say anything since they settled down before we went to bed but it was difficult to relax and enjoy our time in the room All in all, a fine stay - we just wanted a clean and comfy room but for $200+ per night, it was a bit disappointing, might give it another shot if we are ever back in town

This location is one of the best in Valdosta! I have tried a few but when I started staying here it became my favorite. I have been treated with such respect and had only one small incident since I have been staying there for months now, which was rectified immediately by the manager. I must say it has been worth it to stay there everytime. Overall: Clean rooms, clean property, and courteous and hardworking staff. I do recommend it to everyone whenever staying in Valdosta,Ga!!

The photos of this place are deceiving. This place is sharing a pool and a parking lot with the super 8 next door. It is not a very nice or safe feeling place to us. There were lots of homeless people everywhere at this exit. The parking lot looked like a campground. There were people grilling and drinking beer everywhere right outside your door.

My husband and I, and our dog stayed here while Hurricane Ian was crossing Florida. We had left Florida to escape the storm. Staff was very friendly, accommodating and helpful. Our dog (and many others with dogs) stayed here during this time. Room was clean and comfortable, continental breakfast daily was well supplied and despite the person I the building, nights were very quiet. Upon checking out, desk attendant even caught an error on my charges which I hadn't noticed, and corrected it. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a reasonable priced hotel with good location to nearby restaurants/shopping and a great staff. We will likely go back next time we are headed out that way ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
