Located in the centre of Fort William it was very convenient for walking to our trip on the Jacobite steam train. Decor nice and quirky But - and a big but - the rooms are teeny-tiny. I’m used to staying in ‘metro’ hotels but this a whole new level of small. You can barely walk round the bed - we had a superior king-size room, supposedly. No wardrobe - just a couple of hangers on the wall. If you sit on the loo in the tiny bathroom, the sink is over your knees. Hardly room to turn round for £180 a night. Nice view over a car park being built but it was quiet at the back of the hotel (notwithstanding the noisy guests in adjacent rooms). Decent breakfast and nice staff just about rescued it.

Stayed for 1 night as a base to do Ben Nevis the following day. Great location and nice hotel, right in the centre of Fort William. Our room was quite small but perfectly adequate and enjoyed a good breakfast on the morning. Parking was limited but we were able to park at the hotel. Would happily stay again in the future.

My friend and I stayed here for 2 nights after walking The West Highland Way - it was an excellent stay! The owners and staff are all very friendly and they’re well set for walkers, with a drying room available for guests to use. They have lots of recommendations for eating places in Fort William and for when the rain is torrential (or you just fancy staying in) they have a lounge area where guests can eat their own food or takeaway. There’s also a small bar in the lounge which makes it a cozy little social space in the evenings if you want to meet other travellers. Breakfast was plentiful and very tasty, with excellent views from the windows. Our room was very comfortable with an incredible view over the water. I would highly recommend a stay here.

This is the most expensive one I have ever lived in the UK but the smallest one. The price is too low and the check-in procedures are the most cumbersome. But the hotel is very beautiful, the location is good, the aunt who serves is very warm, the breakfast room is amazing, and the breakfast quality is very good.

So this is not where I wanted to stay in Fort William however I booked with them because I wanted to use up Avios Points and this was the only place in town that took them. So checking in was a breeze, very old school. I was given a key and that was it since I had pre-booked. I liked this. No bond, passports required etc. Check out was also easy and no sly extra charges. The staff were lovely and friendly and room service was done well. I booked a standard room but received one of the Four Poster rooms which was great. Though I did feel I still paid quite a bit for this room, so perhaps they upgraded me. Maybe I did buy the posh room and the Avios website made an error. The Breakfast buffet is well priced and extensive. Perfect for filling up before climbing the Ben. The dinner was okay with a changing menu. The Hotel is in need of an upgrade, cracks, mould in places and the Spa and pool area had the feeling a a public pool but it was nice to have those facilities. Joe public can make use of the pool which I think is a activity families do on a wet day. Location was not ideal either, A bit too far to walk into town compared to other hotels. Look it was okay, a mixed back, I would recommend but I would also be keen to try something different should I return.

Not a nit-picker generally. Just a honest review of a recent stay at this hotel during a week long tour of Scotland. Stayed in three other hotels/BnBs over the week and unfortunately this stop was the worst of them. I think most of the issues with this place are the building itself (old) and the general comfort of the accomodation. My sofa at home is ten times comfier than the bed I was given. It was like a slab. The room wasn't amazingly clean but I think it's more time taking its toll than poor cleaners. The ceiling was thin, people above could be heard banging constantly - maybe ask for a second floor room if you want to chance this place or else you might be kept awake. As for me, would I stay again? Doubtful. Not as it is I'm afraid. Saving graces? The swimming pool and gym facilities were excellent, nothing to fault there, top quality and well run. But overall, nothing to write home about here and for the money the room cost it was just far too drab and comfortless to justify the price. Perhaps with a lick of paint, better beds and a bit of soundproofing (which certainly wouldn't go amiss) this place could earn more stars, but for now I can only reasonably give it two. Can't comment on food because I didn't eat anything here.

Stayed at this hotel when we had a trip to Scotland,Our train was cancelled and i was worried we would miss the reception which closed at 11 o clock at night.I rang the hotel in a panic but was reassured if i was late it would be fine, luckily we got there before 11 and were even able to get a drink even though the bar was about to close.Breakfast the next morning was lovely and there was plenty of choice.bedroom was a good size and had a spectacular view of the lake.Would highly recommend this hotel and its location to the railway station.

Feeling is a very historic hotel, the advantage is that the location is good, just by the river, behind the hotel is high street, boots supermarket is very convenient, the front desk is very warm. The downside is that the room facilities are old.

We had a friendly welcome in reception and found our rooms spotless, very well equipped and pleasant. They were not particularly big, but were singles and had all that was needed, The (double) beds in particular were very comfortable. We had dinner in the restaurant which was very good and provided an excellent choice. Staff in all areas were friendly and helpful. For anyone with mobility issues, there is no lift but I believe help was available with luggage if requested. The rooms had walk-in showers.

Just had a great stay at the Nevis Bank Hotel. Easy to find with easy parking. Ideal location and only a 10 min walk into the town centre. We ate at the hotel’s Browns restaurant which was a really good meal on the evening and had a great breakfast in the morning. Staff very welcoming, no complaints at all!!!

On arrival we were met at the reception desk by a very laid back guy He informed us we had been given an upgrade ,and our room was overlooking the Loch Room was large and well maintained,Bed was huge would have slept four if you are in to that sort of thing The Hotel is close by for the High Street and the Station Only complaint was the noise coming from the room above .Sounded like they were wearing Doc Martin boots on there feet,.But of course the Hotel cannot be held accountable for that.Perhaps they could put a note in the rooms asking that they respect the people in room below One tip.The restaurants get busy very early,as there are a lot of North Americans staying in area,so would recommend you book a table where possible

Hotel is in a brilliant location, was close by to Glenfinnan and the viaduct, Glen Nevis and steall falls all of which i wanted to visit. Breakfast was delicious 10/10. The staff were lovely and really helpful and welcoming. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Only complaint was I could hear a bit of noise coming from the halls at night with people walking up and down and the decor was also really dated. But that aside I had a great stay and would recommend.

I booked this hotel after a cancellation at another hotel in Fort William, and I found it last minute. Quite exciting staying at a new hotel! Firstly, the plus points: a very friendly welcome, and the lady on reception at check out was very friendly too. Also, the rooms are really stylish and spotless, and some very tasty biscuits are provided. However, I was left disappointed by a few things. Firstly, despite the stylish appearance of the room, it lacked some cosyness - it felt like a cross between a Premier Inn and student digs. On that subject, there was a group of quite noisy students staying there the evening I was there. This wouldn't normally bother me, but you could hear everything from the corridor, even though I was staying at the far end. So, lots of knocking on doors until 11pm at night and from about 6am the following morning. I also found the service at the bar to be quite mixed. The guy working was very friendly, but the lady I was greeted by came across as if she didn't want to be there...no smile or anything! Finally, you can't watch live TV in the rooms. It may be 2023, but, if I want to watch TV on an evening, just turning it on and having channels available would be good. Unfortunately, I had to connect my tablet to a different WiFi code and cast...and not many of the streaming services allow you to cast live TV. In time, I'm sure the hotel will be great, and maybe I'll go again...maybe!

Really great Hotel. Cheapest around as well so don’t really get when people book cheap hotels and complain that it’s not 5* 😂. Location is amazing. The Loch is beautiful. Staff are really nice. Rooms have everything you need and are quite spacious. Food is really good although a wee bit expensive but still good sized portions.

Prices start at £4 or £5 per night... This is an old castle hotel on the west side of the Scottish Highlands. From a common area point of view everything is well done and impeccable. But from the point of view of the rooms...the price/performance ratio is obviously super low. The facilities are outdated, so I asked for a humidifier... A hair dryer that was produced 20 years ago came, which was completely unacceptable and had no humidifying effect at all. The shower room has very strict requirements on the size of the guests, and I personally feel that the water pressure can be further improved and improved. The laudable point is that the shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and soap in the bathroom...all have two ball royal certifications, and the quality is also carried. The cold and hot water device of the washbasin is a traditional separate type, which is the kind of water that you either use cold water or hot water, and it cannot be warm water anyway. The sofa in the guest room is made of fabric. The disadvantage is that you can't see whether it has lice or whether it is clean. Anyway, it is so old that people don't want to sit on it at all. The carpet is lint-free, which means it's ”aged”. Well, let's talk about the public area: the restaurant's production is still quite standard, with Michelin standards, whether it's dinner or breakfast... It's pretty good, but the quality of the coffee is not good. The service staff are warm, courteous, serious and smiling. There are several casual living rooms and even dining rooms in the indoor public area, all of which are luxurious, comfortable, freehand, and comfortable, and there is nothing to fault. There are a large number of areas in the outdoor woods and paths that need to be improved, such as greening projects. One last thing to add: parking is free. After all, the owner, Mr. Chai, is a Chinese from Southeast Asia. The land of the ancient castle covers an area of 5,000 acres... If parking charges are required... it would be too stingy. In general...you can say that it is an ancient European style, but I personally think that the ancient European style does not necessarily need to update or refresh the facilities and furniture. Especially with such a large area, if the greening is not done well... it really responds to the old saying ”gold and jade are outside, and there is nothing in it”.

The guest house was located near the train station. The check-in was smooth and there was good parking right outside the door. The room was big and clean with a nice bathroom. The guest house unfortunately doesn't serve breakfast, but the host recommended a couple of options. Over all an excellent stay in beautiful Fort William!

A fantastic experience. The breakfast was great and the view of Loch Linnie was awesome. And a special thanks to the hostess for packing up ”food to go” since we had to catch an early morning train to Glasgow. A lovely place to stay for sure. We stayed for two nights and they promptly cleaned the room every day. The room was very spacious and very comfortable stay. The hospitality of this place is great. Would love to be back here again and experience the stay at Torlinnhe Guest House.

Good location and easy parking. The restaurant in the hotel is very poor. I ordered a steak for dinner. I said it would be five mature, but I couldn't bite it. It was definitely over-fried. She whispered to the restaurant manager and said that she was so expressionless, and she was not sorry at all. . We also don't want to be in a bad mood for her, calmly ask her to take away the plate of steak that hasn't been moved and tell her: This steak is very bad, but your work attitude is worse than steak! You don't deserve the position of manager at all!

Fort William|1.4km from city center
An absolute nightmare. We stayed in Fort William at Westcourt B&B for four nights. On day one we had the honeymoon suite, with jacuzzi. We wanted to enjoy the bath, but while we were in there, Charles knocked on our door several times (even though you can clearly hear that the jacuzzi is in use from the corridor, as we'd been told not to use it after 22pm). Eventually it turned out he wanted to introduce himself and try to sell us the room for more nights (because we had a cheaper room for the following days). Guest privacy was definitely not a thing. Since we had been hiking and camping for a week beforehand, in the rain, all our stuff was wet. When we asked if they had laundry facilities they referred us to laundromats for which we'd have to take a taxi to reach. We just wanted to dry things, so we spread our stuff over the room. When we came back in the evening, Charles met us in the hallway, as if he was waiting for us (which he did several times in a way which at least I found very creepy), to tell us that this was ”unacceptable” and we ”should be thrown out”. When we discussed a bit and said that we did not cause any damage to the room whatsoever, the stuff is just wet, not dirty, nor did we bother any other guests in the slightest, he went to make a completely inappropriate remark about our lifestyles saying ”I don't understand how you can live like this”, and that they couldn't perform any room service like this (although they had taken down all the things that were drying). When we tried to say that we don't need our room cleaned while we stay there, they said that it wasn't an option, it's included in the service, so asking for privacy is again not ok. The next day, when there had been room service, returned to our room to find our personal stuff that we like to keep on the nightstand, was moved into cupboards in the bathroom, so we had to look through the whole place to find them. If this all doesn't sound bad enough yet, we had a bit of drama also regarding payment, where Charles got agitated saying that there's no point to a bank card if you can't use it. This is because he already had my husband's card details (through ***********) and tried to just take money for the extra night in the honeymoon suite (this night was agreed on later, so not through ***********). Luckily my husband's bank has a safety mechanism which requires him to give the pincode if there's a new payment, but Charles could not offer a method for us to use the pincode, nor could he send a safe payment link. Eventually cash (without receipt) was the only option, because he also wasn't able to give his own IBAN number. So all in all, we felt extremely uncomfortable during our stay at Westcourt, and spent as little time in the B&B as possible, trying to avoid the hosts every time we went in and out. The breakfast was also not worth it at all, and not fresh (the same things lay there day after day), and also served only between 7:30 and 8:45, which can be extreme
