We stayed here for two nights and thought it was great. It’s a relatively new hotel and we were surprised to find that our room had a kitchen and cooking facilities. This does not seem to be a feature in many hotels nowadays. There was a great selection of different teas and a coffee pod machine. The water was hot and good pressure in the shower with an overhead sprinkler and shower hose combination. The bed was very comfortable and easy control of in room temperature. The staff, including the cleaning staff, were all very friendly. There is onsite parking for a fee but make sure you book this early as there does not appear to be many spaces for the size of the hotel. There is an on-site restaurant which served a great breakfast but were booked out for dinner. The hotel is well situated, walking distance to the big shopping plaza, supermarkets other restaurants and the riverside walkway. Everything was great and we would stay here again when we’re back in the region.

We arrived at the hotel and was unsure to park. Very confusing. We waited for 10 minutes at reception and finally we went into the restaurant to get help. They found someone. Booked a superior King corner room. Lovely room. Well appointed, modern, clean, great bed, good TV - no faults at all. Very classy! We went out for dinner and as we left there was a woman at reception waiting for someone to tend to her check in. We told her to see the restaurant. We stayed an talked to her until the reception manager - a man this time - appeared. The following morning on check out, again, no one there. Really poor actually. Unprofessional. Overall though, the room was tops and it was incredibly quiet so I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to the Wellington region as its value for money. Suggestions, maybe train staff better and finally, why do you refer to the river by a weird name and not the Hutt River as it is OFFICIALLY known? An attempt at woke rubbish I suspect however it comes across as rather rude and disrespectful.
