Private manor house, 2 floors, luxurious and serene, silk wall covering, with a piano and other antiques over 100 years old. The hotel is a 5-minute walk from the Sintra’s Regaleira Manor. There is free parking and there is a kettle for hot water and a pot for making tea. Breakfast is plentiful and some are silver cutlery. The hotel provided us with an extra bed for free. When we left, we also sent three bottles of water. The service staff was warm and meticulous, clean and hygienic. On the first day, the pool had a lot of fallen leaves, and it was cleaned up the next day. Very interesting is that there are four peacocks on the 2nd floor of the hotel. I wonder if it is fed by the hotel? Recommended hotel!

This is a very mixed review. The hotel is beautiful overall and steeped in history. The public areas are very nice and there are lots of interesting corners to relax in. The breakfasts are excellent and the staff very pleasant. However, we booked a superior room which cost nearly 250 euros per night, and we did not enjoy a superior experience. The balcony terrace area was lovely, overlooking the forest, but despite there being plenty of room there were just two upright chairs out there. A table and sun loungers would have made it so much better and more comfortable. The room itself was small and dark, and the bathroom in dire need of renovation. There was a large crack in the basin and black marks in the bath, and everything just very tired. Because of this, it didn't feel very clean. The beds were uncomfortable with very bouncy mattresses, so we did not sleep well. We expected a lot more from such an expensive stay and the label 'superior room'. This was not a five-star experience.

Dear Sir, I am checking out in your hotel on Sept 10, can you help me to ask your floor keeper to check in Rm 407 if they can find a small organizer in dark color with an ID car inside , they may check the locker , drawer and whatever place they can find in the room . It was our 3rd stay in The Oitavos and, as usual, we were very satisfied. The hotel has a very special style and we can understand, that not everyone like it but if you like it, you take it and if you don’t like it, you leave it. Each comment on Trip Advisor reflect the subjective opinion of the guest. Negative comments are OK, as long as they are fair. This is not always the case. We feel obliged to give our own opinion in order to relativize some notes we find unfair. Sofie Hildebrandt July 2022: “After having stayed at this hotel every summer for 20 years”, This is not true, because the hotel opened in 2010. Further “the greens are in desperate need of maintenance” maybe in July 2022 but in August 2023 the greens were in a very good stay and very fast. Craig S, July 2023: ” On arrival no one arrived to greet us. We waited for a porter with our bags in the parking area and had to summon attention when the staff were not attending to any guests”. Maybe a special situation; our experience: A porter came immediately on arrival, took our suitcases and golf bags and brought them directly to our room. The lady at the reception was very friendly. SS, July 2023: The all comment is totally unfair. Just an example “the room has strange tvs placed literally like a heartbeat monitor screen in an ER room (not a joke, it’s just truly that odd)”. The TV he mentioned is the small TV near the bed. The room has a bigger screen and “balconies do not face the sea”. Each hotel has different categories of rooms. Our room faced the sea and the view was superb.

First of all, the conclusion: perfect! From the left hand side of Cascais train station, go to the taxi station to take a taxi, 10-15 euros. I remember to order dinner at the Michelin Star Restaurant. The 4-way style is actually a 14-way style. It is best to reserve around 8 o'clock because it takes nearly 3 hours to eat, and must contain red wine! It is highly recommended to book a sea view room with a balcony. It is best to stay at the hotel at 4 o'clock and you will be able to stay in the hotel! Toiletries are Hermes! Take it away... Thank you! Everything is perfect, thank you for your broadband! A good place for travel and vacation, the surrounding environment is beautiful, you can go to the seaside. The breakfast is plentiful, the rooms are large and the facilities are complete. The front desk service is particularly good, introducing local tourist resources in detail. Need to drive.

Went here as a family of 12. Hotel rooms were very nice and beds comfy. Would have expected more from a 5 star hotel. Had to go down to reception several times to have our room properly cleaned. At that we were met with staff member skitting and telling us rooms are cleaned daily. Our bed hadn’t been changed in 4 days at that stage. On that note, staff were very hit and miss - some were very friendly and went above and beyond. Others were rude and disrespectful. My 9 year old nephew was short changed by €10 at the pool bar. When questioned about this, the staff member involved rolled his eyes and was downright rude. The hotel have staff going around at the pool asking if you would like to try a donut and then arriving down with a bill 5 minutes later for this. Indoor pool costs €5 a day per person, surcharges at breakfast for veggie omelette, avocado toast etc. More like a 3 star hotel with a 5 star price tag. Won’t be back.

This resort was exactly as described. Full, private units that include bedroom, living room, private outdoor space, kitchen, bathroom and eating area. Plenty of storage and lots of space. We didn't end up needing it but there was free parking available with the unit. Temperatures were cool when we visited, but the pool looked like it would be very inviting on a hot summer day. Very quaint resort, quiet and clean. Pedro at the front desk was awesome and helped get us sorted when we arrived at the resort before check-in. Seamless at storing our bags and had a nice little cafe with delicious pastries which we had while we waited. Thank you for the great stay! I highly recommend! We will definitely be back!
