Having seen this hotel whilst walking past on a previous holiday and reading the glowing reviews, we booked a 10 night stay at Olympus Palace and overall we had a great time. There are some huge pros, and unfortunately some cons to this hotel (as there is normally with any) and I'll try to list them all here. The Pros: Cleanliness: The hotel is IMMACULATE. I don't think I saw a speck of dust or dirt throughout my entire stay, they even mop the outside walkway every morning! Rooms are refreshed daily with clean bedding, fresh towels, bin emptied, floor mopped etc, and they do a fab job with this. Entertainment: There is a massive programme of various entertainment with something for everyone. Staff: All of the staff are so polite, friendly and welcoming. Check-in was a breeze, and they even let us have breakfast early on our check-out day as our coach was picking us up at 8am. They were also very helpful with arranging taxis and I'm certain that if we had needed anything else, they'd have been more than happy to help. Location: The location is AMAZING. Right on a main ***** of bars, restaurants and shops. Small supermarket opposite the hotel entrance and walk an extra 20 seconds for the larger MichaelAngelo supermarket which has everything. If you have kids, there's a mini fun park with games and rides open every evening right opposite the hotel and a large arcade next door. In-hotel Bars: The rooftop bar is gorgeous and amazing to sit at day or night. There's also a downstairs bar with both indoor and outdoor seating. The staff again, wonderful at both. In-Room TV: TV with plenty of international channels. HUGE TIP: If you come across a film or TV show that you know is originally in English, use the little speech bubble button on the remote and select Original Language and you'll get it in English - would be great to have known this at the start of our hol as it was rainy for a few days. The Cons (some are of course subjective) Noise (not an issue for us, but might be for you): If you prefer a quiet hotel, you will need to book a pool view room. Our room overlooked the main street which was no issue for us as we like the buzz (and people watching) but it is very loud with the hubbub of hundreds of people, repetitive noises from the arcade, the pub quiz/bingo across the road and the mini park until well after midnight. Food: We found the food to be lacklustre. This is of course subjective and there were some great options from time to time. Most nights it was mainly seafood dishes, some meat in a light sauce and some kind of out-there dishes like pigs feet. However, the cooked-to-order bit always has something tasty on like steak, tiger prawns, grilled chicken thighs etc. It should be noted that like most half/full board places, drinks aren't included with lunch or dinner. At breakfast, however, there is free fruit juice, water and champagne. Unfortunately on my last day, I was served half raw sausages. Thankfully they were very cle
We stayed as a couple for a week starting September 2024. On the face of it it looks like a nice hotel ideally situated in the middle of things. We had a level 2 street veiw room which was opposite the little arcade. It had various machines but one paticularly right at the front a little ducky grap type machine. The noise of it went morning noon and night along with this other air hockey game. Between quack quacks and clunk clang ping ping it would of drove you nuts. We actually didn't realise it would be like that until we were fully unpacked and settled in so to speak. And we weren't prepared to ask for room change and have to do the whole pack unpacking again. We weren't in the room all the time so mostly it wasn't a huge type issue. But I'm sure you catch what I mean.... The room itself wasn't that big. It might have felt bigger if it weren't for a large bed then another single one beside it too. The reason for that I will never know as there were only 2 of us in the room. It wasn't the cleanest either marks all over the walls and in general grubby and drab. A few features to liven it up maybe??? Some pictures or wall art wouldn't go a miss. The balcony door outside at the bottom was all grubby and ingrained with dirt. I didn't say anything to reception or maids as I thought to myself I will leave it just to see if it gets cleaned. ( it didnt) so nearly all week it still wasn't cleaned. So I took a wipe to it and with a little elbow grease was able to kinda shift it. Now if I was able to do that. How come a maid hadn't done it 🤔 The food. What do I say about it?? I know you are in Spain and expecting a mixture of multi national clients too. But it was more catered for the Spanish and Mediterranean diet. The food was poorly labelled if labelled at all. Some stuff u except to be hot was cold and vice versa. And on that note who eats mash potatoes for breakfast. They on one occasion had what was described as an English sausage for breakfast. But in no way shape or form was it an English sausage.. it looked like something you'd get in a butchers then you'd have to go home and cook it There was scrambled eggs set out. But really weren't that pleasant. And if you wanted a fried egg you'd have to que up for one and wete cooked on demand. Why not just have some sitting out ready to take?? I've been to many hotels and this has to be the worst yet food wise. The roof top pool. Why aren't none paying guest able to come up and avail of the loungers ane deck chairs ahead of paying guests that are staying and paying for the privilege of the roof top facilities. And you can't take drinks snacks etc upto the pool top area. Yes I get the whole health and safety aspect of things glass/etc. But then serve things in papers or plastic cups maybe?? The whole idea is to try and sit and relax by the pool and sip away at your drink. Reception upon checking out. Poor customer service. I handed the room cards back to him
