Only stayed in this hotel for one night but can't fault it at all. Double rooms are not massive but very comfortable and contain great little touches, The free chocolate and drinks provided are a touch that probably doesn't cost the hotel a lot but is a welcome relief from the profiteering vibe most hotels portray. The hotel also has a built in chrome cast to the TV so you can cast over your own Netflix or Disney plus shows. I would also like to mention that despite the fact it seems to cater for a significant number of guests every morning the breakfast is exceptional and brought on order. (a little tip is you can ask for a cappuccino in the morning rather than the tea or coffee initially offered). Hotel is also in a great location near to a lot of nice bars and restaurants and although it doesn't have parking, the train station car park around the corner is reasonably priced and secure. Would definitely stay again and recommend.

Just returned for 2 nights at this amazing hotel. Location is perfect for exploring the city centre. We had late drinks in Madeline bar each night. Atmosphere was perfect and great drinks/team. Breakfast is each morning in Isaacs. Lovely fresh hot breakfast ordered from a menu. Accompanied by a buffet of continental items. All the staff were fantastic, specifically reception, housekeeping and Madeline bar. Highly recommend and we will definitely be back as soon we can.

1st room is front of lift So I asked to change to QUIET room She gave me new room at 426 Looks quiet since at the end of the hall But after I finished put out my things and enter toilet I can smell cigarette smell Too lazy to ask to move room again so I just close the toilet door Suddenly wake up around 4 am since there’s a truck voices moving things outside my window 😭😭 Very noisy And I left the hotel at 6am Can’t sleep again When check out, the lady not bother to ask how’s my stay?? Since I stayed so many Holiday inn these week They always asked when I did my check out So I don’t bother to tell her about the cigarette smell or the loud noise from the truck early morning

Had gone here for a night. The room I was given was nice and spacious but the air on wouldn't work. So I was moved to another room which was smaller, felt like I was downgraded to a smaller room. If only they could give me the same spacious room that I booked with a working air con would have been great.

Gorgeous property, the styling is beautiful, room was very comfortable. Plenty of parking at the rear of the property for residents. A lovely peaceful setting within a large city like Birmingham. Highly recommend this property. Different from the usual hotel having no reception, but this did not impact our stay. The staff we did meet, were very helpful and friendly. There are various eating places nearby. We had breakfast in Edgebaston village, a few minutes walk away. Just lovely.
The guy who met us was very nice, very welcoming, explained everything. Great parking, quaint rooms, decor lovely, rooms clean and tidy, bed was comfy and pillows were fluffy. Also had air con, which kept the room cooler as we were on the second floor. Shower amazing and had a lovely free standing bath too. Tea/coffee facilities, robes available. Would stay here again, excellent place.

Thank you to Ian and Lyndsey on reception who were very helpful when we needed to change our reservation and gave friendly and welcoming service .

Just opposite New street station. Nice room on the Forth floor. The drafty windows let the room down. Didn’t get much sleep I could hear lots of noise from outside. Cold dining room , meal was ok, didn’t have breakfast.

The hotel is on St Paul’s Square. Parking around the square is free on Sundays. The entrance is worthy of a selfie and a post on Instagram. Reception is in the left corner of the lobby as you enter and the desk staff are very helpful and informative. Rooms are small but very clean. The minibar was “free”. Lifts out of order.

Our favourite Boutique hotel in a great location. The bar and restaurant is very attractive. Though we didn’t dine here this time the food is very good value too.

Absolutely loved this hotel, fantastic and helpful staff on reception. Clean and friendly. Very professional. Cant say the same about my experience with Trim. Will not be booking anything else with Trim again. Feel robbed and I don't need any Trim points. If it was not for the hotel I would not have had the facilities I had paid for.

Rooms are average but other areas are good. Nice terrace. Breakfast is excellent. Friendly staff. I was particularly impressed by Blossom in the restuarant. She was very approachable and efficient. Always greeted us with a beautiful smile!

Found left a cable in my room after checkout. Ask a friend to help me to check at the reception. However just be told there is nothing left. Yes, “no” could save a lot of trouble compared with saying something else like let me check with the cleaner.

Great location. Close to the megabus drop off. Bed was comfortable and room was spacious. Warm atmosphere in the hotel. Birmingham is my least fav city but the hotel made a difference to my experience there.

Shane was really helpful in suggesting food and drinks and it was a nice, relaxed environment at the bar for our food. The food was well presented and tasty. The superfood salad was really nice. Definitely have the extra chicken. The desserts were also excellent. Sticky toffee pudding and chocolate brownie were also great. Would recommend it for a relaxing drink and food. Great service. Shane and Jessica were really nice.

The Edgbaston Park Hotel is probably the best I've stayed in. Every employee is kind and tremendously helpful, the rooms are clean and nice, and the hotel as a whole is modern and beautiful. One of the bartenders, Shane, is very attentive and friendly, and obviously knows his way around the bar. I will definitely stay here next time I'm in town––and hang out at the bar as much as possible.

Friendly staff with clean rooms. The kitchenette was good together with a fridge and a washing machine. It took 15 minutes walk to the Birmingham New Street Train Station with up and downs along the road. However the hotel was located near the canal and the Central library. Restaurants and bars were easily found close to the hotel. Recommended when the budget is your concern.

Stayed here for one night and we stayed in the superior room with the city view, which was really nice as we were on the 18th floor so the view was amazing. The room was clean but the bed and pillows were horrible. The mattress was so soft you would sink into it when laying down, the pillows were the same too, they were really soft and flat and we didn’t get a good nights sleep. Other than that, everything else was fine.

I stayed here on business which provided an idea location for my work and also was a small drive to a shopping complex! My Room on arrival was very clean carpets vacuumed and bathroom clean! Air con was a blessing as it was a warm couple of nights. Only fault i noticed was a USB socket to the left of my bed was broken where I believe people before were being forceful apart from that a clean room overall and most importantly i slept well 😊 Staff were very friendly on site and happy to help the first night they were clearly short of staff and i felt Aaron who I believe was running the shift explained there maybe a delay with food this evening and somethings maybe off the menu regardless to this managed to provide a decent meal regardless to there struggles. Checking out Jasmine and Aaron both really friendly and was a very simple process! I would stay here again in the future!!

Every member of the Hilton Team we met during our stay were fabulous- receptionist, bar staff, executive lounge team, Brightsmith Restaurant, house keeping, breakfast, concierge - all keen to help, have a pleasant chat and a laugh- yet continue to work and remain professional - very tuned in to guests and the guest experience. A credit to themselves and the hotel. Our room was exceptionally clean and I have to say the bed and pillows were the best I have ever slept in, amazing. The hotel was busy which added to the atmosphere and buzz. Yet the bedrooms were really quiet. In my opinion The Metropole has the edge over other hotels. We stayed here a few years ago and it still has that 'plush' appeal, it is a treat to stay here - it was like coming home and we intend not leave it so long before we return again. Thank you all.

Perfect base for a one night stop over before an early flight the next day. The food was lovely in the bar and reasonably priced. Walking distance to the airport and car park so location is perfect too! We used the monorail to go to the NEC/resorts world arena area which has shops, cinema, bars and restaurants. Great if you have a bit of time there as the hotel room is tiny but has everything you need.

First time staying in this hotel so was unsure what to think however the room is so comfortable and clean. Neli, the member of staff at the front desk, was so helpful and checked us in quickly and answered all the questions we had. It was nice to be greeted with a smile when checking in. The rooms are on the small side but the layout worked very well and makes the most of the space. The bathroom is clean and provides shampoo, body wash etc for people who are travelling light. Luckily the rooms have air conditioning which is perfect for these hot summer nights. Definitely recommend, amazing deal for the price!

Breakfast

4.3/5Excellent42 Reviews
Jewellery Quarter Birmingham|0.94km from city center
There is so much to unpack here when it comes to Selina Birmingham. Never again am I staying at this hellhole of a hotel. For a name like Selina, the hotel sure is nightmarish to stay at. It's shameful that the hotel shares the same name with my non-biological/cosplay partner. There is no breakfast but at least, the bedding, the pillows and the duvet are comfy (but most likely due to the fact that I’m tired) and the wi-fi is decent. Unfortunately, this is where the compliments stop, especially when the dorm rooms are so dark, you have to turn on the flashlight on your phone in order to see. Not to mention, there is no television in the room I was staying in. To make matters worse, the dorm room is cold, coupled with no heating. I honestly don't mind the cold most of the time but the room temperature is too cold for my liking. Speaking of the ground floor, the Korean receptionist told me that I'm not allowed to eat my food at a table at the cafe and told me to climb the stairs all the way to the third floor in order to eat my food. It isn't fair, considering the receptionist with the short, dark hair tends to allow me to eat my food at a table at the cafe during the very early hours of the morning. I eventually lost my patience and yelled at the Korean receptionist. It's rare when I lose my patience. I threatened in a growly voice with, ”I suggest you fill the pot noodle to the top with water unless you want a scathing, negative review to be blasted on the radio for everyone to hear?”. Finally, she got the memo. The rooms, bathrooms and toilets and facilities are unsanitary (for example, there are biscuit crumbs all over the bed sheets. I didn't know until I got out of bed), the entire hotel itself is not accessibility-friendly as if the lack of a lift and the staff not being accommodating towards disabled people such as myself isn’t of any indication, the kitchen and the kitchen equipment on the third floor are dirty, there is no hot water in some of the bathrooms within the dorm rooms, the bathrooms and the dorm rooms are shared (therefore, there is no privacy), the lights keep turning themselves off if you’re idle (I’m more used to turning on and off the lights on my own accord), you need to pay £10 for a padlock which is complicated for disabled people and the list goes on. The toilets, bathrooms, kitchen etc are just as dirty as Badea Faulkner and Olive Allison Brown from the Avanzar House in Middleton, Manchester not cleaning up after themselves. And don’t get me started on the staff being problematic. They aren’t very useful to the point where I had to shout at them due to their language barriers and them not listening to me, let alone understanding me. This is troubling for autistic people like me. Never in all my years have I encountered such frustrating hotel staff members. Compared to the other hotels I've stayed at in the past, the hotel staff in these hotels were never infuriating. If a lack of staff doesn’t tell you the appalling

The location is bang in the middle of the city centre so it is well connected. Check in was smooth and we were allotted a room with an amazing view. This apart-hotel is very centrally located, and it is easy to get around on foot for shopping, dining, bars, entertainment, and more. The property itself is in a pedestrianised area, which is great as you do not have to dodge traffic while getting back to your apartment in the dark! The reception area is very simple and minimalist, which is also great because you can head straight for the lift rather than having lots of distractions every step of the way. The reception team was always polite and professional. When we checked in, our room was not ready, but when we returned after lunch, they had already taken our cases up to the apartment for us. The apartment itself was lovely, very spacious and comfortable. We had a clubman apartment, which had the added bonus of a nice large bathtub. The bedroom was small but perfectly fine for our 4-night stay. The kitchen area had everything you need to cook for yourself if you wish, although we did not cook at all. There was a juicer and coffee machine but no instructions. As we are clueless about such things, we ended up using neither. The views from the apartment are stunning, particularly at night when everything is lit up. It was a lovely, relaxed stay and I would definitely stay at these apartments again for the comfort, convenience, and location.
