Holiday Inn Manitowoc

This hotel had all we wanted and more. We asked for a quieter room and that’s exactly what we had. Although some of the styling is older, the construction meant thicker walls with good soundproofing. We were shocked when we went out the room door in the morning to find the rooms next to and around us were occupied! We also appreciated the size of the room, the spacious bathroom counter, and the full length well-placed closet. Our bed was comfortable with side tables on each side. Breakfast was much more extensive than we expected and frequently re-supplied.

PLEASE DON'T GO HERE W/ YOUR FAMILY! The place is full of drug deals and bed bugs! I checked in late and was given a room on the 2nd fl. It seemed ok when I walked in. I dropped my bags and went for dinner. When leaving, I watched what was a drive thru for drugs. The police dept is right behind the Econo Lodge. They must be getting kick backs & discounts! When I returned, I noticed the bathroom wasn't cleaned. Only the towels were changed and maybe the toilet seat was wiped. There was hair in the tub, & something sticky on the floor. The carpet seemed moist and sticky. Every time the A/C ran, a very noticeable moldy smell was throughout the room. I decided to just get some sleep because of the late night and I had to leave by 5am to continue my teaching assignment. I pulled off the sheets and comforter before going to sleep & slept on the fitted sheet. I woke up around 11pm to biting and itching from head to toe! BED BUGS coming from the pillow cases and between the fitted sheet and mattresses! I took pics, grabbed my gear, and checked out at appox midnight! During this time of the COVID-19 pandemic, there should've been extra precautions. This Econo Lodge isn't even making any attempt to follow the common cleaning protocol!
