Nadi Homestays

We had a great stay. Staff was friendly and accomodating to our needs including carrying out heavy luggage up and down 3 flights of stairs. They even allowed our visitors in which I find very rare. They also carried our food up to our balcony which was great. We had the Sunset suite at the very top - awesome view! Our room was nice and clean, super nice air con in the room and lounge area. Really nice kitchen area with a massive new fridge. Very convenient with the supermarket up the road and beachfront to chill. The ocean was sooo nice and hot to swim in. Downfall: Some of the levels smell like damp, wet carpet and was really bad . Some of our dishes were so dirty and their were cockroaches in the toaster, microwave and jug. Would be great to have a volley ball net on the beach and some activities on offer for guests such as horse riding & snorkelling etc. Also some entertainment would be great as the music next door was the only entertainment we got but sometimes it was far too loud that we couldn’t sleep. There was no fire show or kava ceremony and we were looking forward to that! The food at the ghost ship bar was really good especially the pizza and curry dishes! Be good if reception could help guests find the best taxi prices as some Of the locals that stand on the road really take advantage of travellers and charge you the world. We did have a great stay in the end! I would recommend this if you want to stay near town, the airport and want to experience outside of Denarau. Denarau did get boring for me sometimes so I liked this experience this time around.

The apartment hotel has no breakfast, the rooms are clean, the location is excellent, and the airport is relatively close. You can find a place to eat on foot. Cost-effective. There is parking outside. Much better than an adjacent four star hotel.

BE AWARE: you may not actually be booking at Bamboo Travellers. I booked with Bamboo Backpackers/Travellers and they directed me to check on down the street at a place called BlueWater Lodge, which is where I actually stayed. Very confusing check-in process because they didn't clarify that I would actually be staying in a different property. The Bamboo Travellers place itself didn't seem to look at all like the pictures here or have any of the activities described - very run-down building, no bar, etc. I'm not actually confident that anyone was staying there (may have just been the checkin desk). At the BlueWater Lodge, the private room was fine - about what you'd expect for a private room in a hostel. Comfortable enough, though very smelly bathroom. It's a bit of a walk from the beach. Just disappointed and confused that I didn't actually stay at the place I booked... they clearly need to update their info on booking sites & website so people don't have to go through the same confusing process. I checked out the places that are actually on the beach and Smugglers Cove seemed pretty good and similarly low-priced. They have fire shows in the evening too at the beach restaurant. Next time would stay there or the Ramada.

The location is very convenient, the room is a bit old, I don't know if I can book this hotel here to pick me up at the airport, take a taxi to the hotel by myself, normal 15 Fiji dollars can be, I don't understand for the first time, the driver asked me 20 Fiji dollars, I gave him.

Very close to the airport, but there is no restaurant around, need to go to the city center for food, good service attitude, people are very enthusiastic, can help to call the car service, there is no hot water in the room, the hotel entrance is required to open the door. The hotel that is biased towards the hotel looks old. There are many mosquitoes outside, and you need to carry anti-mosquito supplies. A penny for a hotel that is suitable for people who want to play in Fiji on the first day.

This lodge is ideal for backpackers. However, as we are not backpackers, we chose this accommodation based on the description, which implied it catered to a broader range of travelers. To suit our needs, we booked a private room with an ensuite bathroom. The room was very spacious, featuring two double beds, but the mattresses were worn out and in need of replacement. The bathroom was large and clean, though the shower only provided cold - lukewarm water. The wardrobe had just two hangers, and the door did not close properly. Additionally, the mirror on the wardrobe door distorted reflections, resembling a funhouse mirror. Given the price we paid for the room, we expected basic amenities such as a mini-fridge. Instead, there was a notice stating ”No drinking in the room,” which perhaps explained the absence of a kettle or tea/coffee facilities. It was not communicated at check-in that we needed to request room cleaning or fresh towels, so we only discovered this after three days when we inquired. On a positive note, the staff were very friendly. The pool is clean and there are alot of sun loungers. The lodge offers a taxi service, though it is more expensive than the taxis available on the roads nearby.For instance, the lodge taxi charges 15 FJD for a ride to Nadi Town in an old, worn-out vehicle, while street taxis charge 10 FJD for the same trip in newer cars with air conditioning. The location is close to the beach, just a 3-minute walk, but the beach itself is underwhelming. There are no loungers or shaded areas, and there is noticeable litter along the shore. Overall, this is a lovely option for backpackers, but it may not meet the expectations of travelers seeking more comfort and amenities.

i would say this property is old but it maintained so well. talking about rooms i was initially booked for one bedroom apartment but upon my check-in i was upgraded to penthouse which was 400 level. Man the view from my room i can see the sea from my room. inside the room i had my bedroom and then it had kitchen plus loft on top. wow it was so big room. all cutleries were new. as we checked in we filled out the form for our cutleries and i was amazed it was all new cutleries. all in all my experience in Tanoa apartment was wonderful and services provided by 2 housekeeping ladies and manager was kind and humble

The home stay is conveniently located close to the airport, at just around 10-15mins walk, but don't follow Google Maps, as they'd provide a wrong inexistent path. The host is very helpful and the amenities are pretty basic but good enough for a one night stay. Towels and soaps are provided. Some kitchen utensils are also available for use or one could order some food from the home stay directly. Finally, good amount of parking is also available.

Serviced apartment this is certainly not a good one , it did have a bed , a washing machine we never used it , tv with 1 channel broken draws that did not close, dirty floors, microwave, fridge, shower that was cold and dirty, no tea towels, nothing to wash the plates and cups with, total lack of cutlery, gas hob that did not work, one very dirty fry pan, they did bring us a jug, this place was noisy and dark, parking was limited and only after asking we were shown where additional parking was. Staff were very pleasant the only good thing i can think of. Maybe we got a bad unit. Serviced apartment according to the tourism list following: Serviced apartments, means you can have a home away from home and should include A hob and kitchenware like pots, pans, crockery and cutlery come as standard while many apartments have fully fitted kitchens with a full oven and a comprehensive range of cooking implements. We had one dirty pan, totally lacking anything, would not recommend, just as cheap to stay at a hotel.

I was using Fiji as my base from which to visit Tarawa and Guadalcanal, and needed a reasonably priced hotel/B & B convenient to the airport for 3 separate stays. I am fortunate to have picked Bua! The staff was a rare blend of friendly, professional, and knowledgeable, the facility was quietly very elegant, and all at a price fair to both them and me. And added bonus was the other guests being friendly and interesting. Bua is well worth your visit - highly recommended!!
